    0:30 Axiom Space
    1:48 Ax-1 Mission
    3:19 MIssion Finances
    7:28 Crew members
    8:45 Plans for the crew
    9:20 Future of Axiom in LEO
    This video is a basic overview of the upcoming Ax-1 Mission. Ax-1 stands for Axiom 1 mission and plans to send four crew members to the International Space Station (ISS). Axiom will launch on top SpaceX's Falcon 9, in a Crew Dragon. The crew will spend eight days docked to the ISS, and ten days in space. During the trip, they will conduct a range of experiments, enjoy what it is like to be weightless, and see Earth from outerspace.
    In this video, we also discuss the finances of such a mission. How much Axiom has to pay SpaceX, and the deal they created with NASA. We also take a look at the four crew members, and the future of Axiom as a company.

    What is not widely known, nor reported, is that any private/commercial mission to ISS must supply ISS with certain life support essential as part of their mission profile.
    AX-1 must bring additional food, water, and oxygen (And recycling supplies) for ISS along with their own mission manifest [Gotta bring something to the Party]. Furthermore, when the AX-1 mission is complete, there Axiom crew will take not only completed experiments back with them, but also 'take out the trash' - carry away the ISS waste to burn up during the Dragon trunk reentry. [That is how ISS dumps the trash from all those completed experiments.]

    the proper pronunciation for the fourth crew member Eytan Stibbe is as such.
    "Eyt" - like the number eight.
    "an" - the sound you make when you go "ahhh" at the doctor, with the "n" added on to the end.
    "Stibbe" - pronounced as Stee-buh.

    4:00 you should not look at NASA's Cost per seat as to what a private seat would cost. As NASA, by law requires a much heavier load of paperwork or documentation that rises their cost by as much as 50%. I know this is true for most rocket launches, I assume this is true for crew as well.

    • @MartianWolf
      @MartianWolf  2 роки тому

      This is a great observation! There was an analysis by the NASA inspector general that estimated the seat cost is ~55 million dollars, and NASA paid SpaceX closer to $350 million per crew dragon launch earlier this year. So there is some overhead and cargo included in the crew dragon cost. We may never know the exact costs for this mission, but I'd imagine it is close to $50 million per seat.

    Isn't the ISS doomed?

  • @TwstedTV
    @TwstedTV 2 роки тому +1

    Whats confusing is that NASA themselves said that within 5 years they would finish a brand new space station, because in 5 years they are fully retiring the ISS.
    Then yesterday on live broadcast they said, the ISS will be dismantled in 10 years and a new space station will be created.
    Then other people with space youtube channels like yours are now saying it will be 2040 or 2050. - I will be long gone by then.
    So all this new space for everyone will only be for new born babies born in 2022 as most of us wont see the light of day of any new stations, let alone experience it.
    I would bet my life, that if earth only had 5 years before an asteroid the size of the moon would collide with earth, NASA and Space-X would conjure up a space station
    to hold 2 million people within those 5 years. Nobody would ever dare to say - { "Sorry we dont have the money for that".... }
    It would be built in a blink of an eye and no one would be worried about any money to do it.
    Thats our problem as human beings and the MAIN reason why humans are 1,000 years behind on our evolution. Because humans put money first before our own evolution.
    Its a shame, because we could be doing so much better than we are doing now, but we are dragging our own feet.
    Not to mention that the government LOVES to hold back the population, because the government keeps saying - { "The population is not ready for that yet"... }
    NASA themselves was going to ditch going to space for another 50 years because as they said - { "We dont have the money to build rockets" }
    Then Space-X came in and every person that ever worked for NASA said that Space-X would never accomplish anything. Even Neil Armstrong and other past astronauts said it.
    a couple of years later, look what happened. Elon Musk got the PUBLIC to build Space-X to what it is now.
    See where I am going with this? If the government stopped being so closed-boxed and just asked the population to help, can you imagine the amount of things we could accomplish?
    So many regular smart people in this world, why is the government treating the population like a bunch of retards as like we are too stupid to do anything in life.
    Elon wanted to do fast transportation, he asked the public to get involved and we got Hyperloop being developed around the world.
    The government 2 years ago said that humans would never live past the average age of 78.... currently a bunch of university professors and kids
    reported that they found a key genome in the DNA that slows down aging and humans would be able to live to 150 years old. That news broke out yesterday on the New York Post newspaper.
    I wish the government stopped dragging their feet and forcing the population into a crawling halt just because they believe we are not ready to build futuristic things.
    We humans are currently way too slow in evolving as humans. We are currently at Type-0 species. at the rate we are currently going,
    we wont evolve for another 10,000 years. and by then who knows, earth might be completely gone.
    We are too got damn slow, we are dragging our feet in our own evolution. we should be ashamed.
