“You don’t have to go to an Ivy League school to be a white collar criminal.” 😭😭😭
Tf is a white collar criminal
Syracuse university is big on school spirit and it definitely is a good school with a medium acceptance rate
it's also $70K/yr, brutally cold in a dump of a town.
@@bigbanknewyork3655 way too overpriced just like NYU.
@@ashtonasmr3157 I don't really know much about syracuse, but don't they provide a lot of aid
It is a private school. That is why it is expensive.
I’m a Pitt freshman and he is absolutely correct about their merit scholarships! Even after my initial financial aid more merit scholarships came in and made Pitt the best financial choice (and overall). Hail to Pitt!
in state or out of state?
IM A YEAR LATE ON THIS BUT THIS IS SO HELPFUL AS A RISING SENIOR FOR 2020
these are so informative (and will help many high-achievers readjust their expectations and get a different perspective) and I’d love to see a video from you discussing mid-range schools!!
These videos are so great!! Thank you for spending time to research and share them with us!
Thank you so much for taking the time to do this!!
Thank you so much for making this video!
Thank you for making these videos. My daughter applied your strategy and got into a good school with a decent aid package. Thanks again for sharing your knowledge!!!
I LOVE YOUR NEW GLASSES!!
I LOVE BOTH
thank you so much for these, you're amazing
I love these videos SOO much! Thank you so much for making these! 😄😄😄
I love this video idea! Super helpful 💕
this is two years late and OMG I'm a 2021 senior this video is a life saver! Thank you for the help! Covid derailed a lot of my college plans with health problems and ensuing financial burdens! Idk if you'll ever see this but it was a great help!
This is incredibly helpful, I was completely lost on trying to find a school I could afford that isn’t my state school and this gave me quite a few ideas. thank you!!!!!
the most informative and useful video I ever came across
Not being familiar with American schools, this is very helpful. Thank you!
What a great video! Thanks.
great advice, Josh! Wish I could've seen this when I was applying to colleges haha
As an rising senior, this video has helped me so much pick my safety schools! thanks
I am so happy you made another video like this. As a senior getting ready to go through the college admissions process, your videos open my mind to more possibilities and ideas. Thank you so much for another great video.
Thank you so much man!
that was so helpful for me as an international student. Thank youu!!!
this is so helpful thank you
Great video and such a unique idea. I saw your post on one of your previous videos that you speed them up. Just a suggestion to just do them at regular speed. People are interested in what you have to say and will listen even if the videos are longer.
as someone who will be applying this year, this was SUPER helpful!!
I love both glasses! thank you for the video!~
I have a friend who’s a junior and she wants to go to NYU, and I told her that’s her reach school because of how prestigious the school is, and she said it’s her “will be school”, yet she doesn’t want to take the SAT until her senior year. I’m trying to tell her that if she wants to go to a prestigious college she really has to be on top of things. Funny thing is, I told her about Pace University being a safety school and she didn’t know about the college. Personally, I’m applying to all the schools I know I’m likely to get into as I have to be realistic with this.
i love this channel sm!!
I'm really thankful that I founddddd thisss😭❤️
Awesome video Josh (as always)
Yes Pitt is quite nice. I liked it a lot when I visited. Great video!
Ayyyyy you're going to Dartmouth! I live in Thetford which is like 10 mins from Hanover but in Vermont:) Hope you enjoy it there!!!!!
As I lay down my bed, i couldn’t have asked for a better video; Thanks for your research! You saved countless hours
Josh, thank you! I'm going to be a high school senior this year and I am so nervous about the application process. My stats are close to yours and I am looking at similar schools. Your videos have been so helpful, especially this one and the last one like it!
what college did you get into?
@@srij0n316 I’m a junior at yale !
@@dibag4980 thats awesome. I wanna go to columbia but iam kinda stupid so i watched this video
@@srij0n316did you get in?
@@raven4029 Currently a junior in high school.
Missouri S&T is a great safety for engineering! Living in state makes it very cheap, but even out of state, it still isn’t that bad, especially with the decent amount of aid available. Only bad thing is that Rolla is in the middle of nowhere. Despite this, students still get great internships.
This is so helpful! Thank you!
These videos are awesome!! Even though the “safety” schools are more like my matches lol😢😂💗💗
thank you so much, just thank you
MORE PLEASE! Can you also do videos aside from safety schools? Like, reach schools, or schools for financial aid, or any other category?
Hi! It seems like you know a lot about colleges! Can you make a video that summarizes the top 20 or so colleges, giving their pros and cons and what they are known for?
new glasses are fire man
His safety schools are more prestigious than my dream school
Thank you Josh! Can you further explain why you think Duke&Dart&Vandy, as well as Rice&Emory&USC&Washu are similar?
I’m a freshman but I’m still watching these videos bc they’re so enlightening
UMinn (I’m assuming twin cities) is a bit deceptive on the cost. Maybe it has changed, but I received a national merit scholarship that was $10K every year and the cost of attendance is around 52k. This means I’d have to pay $42k a year to go to a mediocre school. State schools aren’t always the way to go.
(In the context of an out of state applicant)
THANK UUUU!! not sure if it's my personal bias but i felt like u talked a lot about schools that are good for stem/business, can u maybe do something focusing on colleges for those pursuing the humanities?
LIBERAL ARTS SCHOOLS for sure
it's just that it's harder to find safety schools with focused pre-professional tracks and there's a lot more information out there for finding good engineering/business programs than there are for, say, history or english
These videos are great
Those glasses are the GOAT
Since Ivies and equivalents can't accommodate all the talent, good on you to point to some of the alternatives, which are legion.
Would be nice if you could make videos of universities that offer huge financial aid to international students.
URI is a safety I’m considering because they just got huge engineering grants and their engineering buildings are so nice, as someone who would be hopeful for MIT and Northeastern, but mostly wouldn’t be able to go because it’s cost prohibitive.
Question. I am not sure if you mentioned (probably did) if this list of collages safety/reach, if they are from a certain area of the country or just all over. Because my dream school is MIT and since I live in central Florida Embrey Riddle isn't that far from me (Which I actually was considering a safety school for me) so I was wondering if you labeled it a safety school because it has a good reputation or because you personally knew about it. I ask this because I didn't think a lot of people know about Embrey Riddle. I don't know if you get what am saying, but Thank you for the video anyways!
My brother goes to RIT and it’s a great school! It’s super tech and science orientated! My brother is majoring in physics with a minor in CS. He got a lot of money and there is a great honors college that he is in.
Very informative Josh. I was wondering if you have a video for major(Major) specific list for reach, match and safety. Moreover some guidelines for how to determine the match.
also, for mit/caltech hopefuls i think that rose-hulman institute of technology is a great safety! It's very stem-focused and i've heard great things about it :)
I was also thinking that RPI would be a good alternative to MIT.
Black frames are really nice
Do you think you could do a video on scholarships to apply to or how to search for them? Beyond the scholarships related to universities/colleges
I actually didn't apply to any of those so I'm probably not the best person to ask about that :///
heyitsjoshco oh darn thanks for replying tho!! :D
Hey josh nice video. Being an international student looking to apply in the US , i was wondering which of these schools actually give financial aid to international students.Thank you
Bro, where did you make it?
Not sure if anyone else mentioned, but Occidental College in LA is a great safety liberal arts college based in a big city!
I also wanted to say how helpful this video is! Thank you so so so so much!!
You should make another
Where did you get those glasses?
RIT is also really good for Premed
This is it chief
For safety school that compare to Columbia Rhodes would be a great choice
I was a Suffolk University student. It’s honor program is okay, not the best. I was in it. If you are a business student it is decent, but for CAS students it was useless. Most students use Suffolk as a stepping stone to transfer into BU or NEU. If you aren’t going to do one of those things, I do not recommend it. It’s in the city and living there Freshman Year is cool; housing is not offered for upperclassman unless you are an R.A. which means most students either struggle to find housing in the uber expensive Boston area or they move to East Boston, which kind of sucks. Buildings are quite spread out as well, and there aren’t many opportunities here. Classes move extremely slowly because many of the students aren’t very good (hence the 84%+ acceptance rate). Money is ok but the lowest it’ll go is like 15k-18k a year (including room/board).
Thankfully I transferred out of Suffolk. If you want to transfer to BU or NEU like many other Suffolk students do, then go ahead. Otherwise, attend a different school!
I need at least find out if these colleges give full-ride or need+merit for international students
How do you know so much about every damn school. Bruh I wish u were like an older brother to me
Can you do affordable universities we can get into
In the middle of the devil's armpit 😂😂
yesss oklahoma!!
i really wanna go to UCLA but NYU is like my DREAM DREAM school. my favorite teacher in the entire world went there and she’s super smart. I think Hunter is good as well.
I was thinking how cool it'd be if you ask your fav teacher for a letter of rec for that school
Do you think getting accepted to a school is hard now ? Because im currently applying to schools on the common app (Penn state, MSU, Indiana university Bloomington, Loyola University Chicago, university of Pittsburgh, Rutgers, etc...) Im a student with a French baccalaureate that is why im applying so late... do you even think I will have a chance to get in one of these schools ?
Thanks !!
Omaha is not in the middle of nowhere but it’s whatever lol.
UPenn is in Philly wish you considered that
I have no idea how to write a good college essay
This is really awesome. I'm really looking for solid safeties that I can fall in love with right now! Definitely gonna look more into Emerson and The New School.
Also, I wish I understood the concept of a safety earlier, lol. When I first started researching colleges, the first thing I'd look at was the selectivity, and then that made me decide whether I wanted to go. Smh
Also look at Hampshire College! They have a really cool curriculum too and I just totally forgot to include them (plus they're test-optional!)
Cool, thanks! :)
Can you give advice on taking a college placement test?
lol i haven't taken one yet so um can't help ya there
I wish I knew FSU is a great alternative. I would have saved 60k in student loans due to my attendance @ USC. FSU would have been a superb alternative!
that's a ton of money
What do you think of Colby College?
Guy how do you make another video not mentioning Ga Tech
I JUST WANT TO GET INTO NOTRE DAME IM SAD😩😩😩😩
ur so adorable
Why did you group Vandy, Duke and Dartmouth together? What is similar about them
they all have super strong school spirit cultures (comparable to big state schools) and a nice balance between pre-professionalism and the liberal arts! they all just have really similar vibes tbh
like product dupes LOL
Would you say that Embry Riddle in Arizona is any good for STEM programs??
yup! also a great place
I think that UW-Madison could be another good safety school for UMichigan.
Tulane has a good medical program
uh where's georgetown
CMU?
oo
Need help resigning up
Can You just tell me whihc one's are the best computer science colleges in these safety list
Second
If you put UChicago in front of Columbia again I will scream.
Prescott Smythe why?
