Zeer goed.
Very good. And how nice that this beautiful work was recorded. Tribute also to the conductor Marc Soustrot and Francois-Henri Houbart and all the orchestra members. Such a shame that many Dutch orchestras have been dissolved and/or merged due to unnecessary budget cuts, fortunately, recordings like this have been preserved.
One of the most successful attempts at the difficult feat of combining organ and the orchestra - clearly shows Andriessen's mastery of both. Thanks for posting this impressive and enjoyable work.
Andriessen's Theme with Variations is among my top ten favourite organ pieces but I had no idea he'd written a concerto. It's a superb piece which really ought to be better known. Thanks for posting and fingers crossed for a good commercial recording.
Thank you for this beautiful work by Andriessen ! I like this composer very much. I hope you'll upload his remaining orchestral works (Symphonic Fantasy for piano and orchestra, 1916 ; Libertas venit, rhapsody for orchestra, 1954 , Symphony concertante for orchestra, 1962 ; Maschereta, symphonic fantasy, 1962 ; Violin Concerto, 1969 ; Chantecler Overture, 1972)... Correct, Andriessen isn't mixing his instrument with the orchestra. That requirement isn't in the definition of a concerto either, is it? After all, he was a great organ player himself.
good composition but organ and orchestra are not mixed as well as (for example) Copland's symphony for organ and orchestra. This is more an interplay. Still thrilling music.
this is NOT the most succesfull attempts of combining organ and orchestra. I think it's fantastic music, but still it is a dialogue between the two parties. Listen to Coplands Organ Symphony for a better example.
It's such a pity this incredible piece is never played at Concertgebouw

Fantastic concerto. Thks for sharing.
Hendrik Andriessen's music is both beautiful and exciting. I like this organ concerto as well as any organ work I've heard! And I love organ!
Thank you for the ample description of Andriessen's life and works.

Who decides what is good or not good???
@@d.vanderploeg480 people who have listened to lots and lots of concerto's for organ and orchestra and of course play organ themselves.....

Very bad concerto. Just awful music!
nikita koshkin So what is your definition of "good" music? Something with a pretty tune perhaps?
David Griffiths Absolutely! Welcome to my channel.
@@nkoshkin you are the Ned Flanders of classical music
@@เรียนภาษาอังกฤษวันนี้ no, I'm not.
@@nkoshkin If you are not than not is not you. Therefor you are Ned Flanders afterall. There's no other option I'm afraid.
