Thank you, Joan. Yes, these videos are very old....I'm glad they are still useful for people...even though you have to watch my hand from a backwards perspective.
So far, the only Violin teacher I know that will totally demonstrate how you as a beginner violin student should be playing at a given time. She is really excellent. If you do not understand why she is playing in beginner mode then you should observed some of her most detailed and excellent lesson plans. She connects step by step where you should be going without doing harm to your extremities.
hi..I have learned many song from the book 1 from you. it helps a lot. mostly I practice first then i perform it in front of my teacher..your videos help me alot..thanks...
Professora muito bem vc é para lá de demais muito boa aula, não há quem não aprenda, mil parabens DEUS A LEVE A SALVO E TE POGE EM UMA ENSEADA DE PAZ, PARA VIBRAR ESTE INSTRUMENTO NO TANGER DO SEU ARCO.
I believe if you search for "Waltz Brahms" you will find it. I know I did a video on the Waltz. YES, that is a tough song because of the slurred string crossings. EVERY SONG in Suzuki has a "teaching point".....something you are supposed to learn and master. The Waltz teaching point is slurred string crossings, plus bow distribution!
Thanks for the great lesson. I have a question regarding the notation. On line four the last grace note from F# to G why is there a # sign next to 1 when previous ones don't have one. We know that it's an F# since it's in the key of G without the sign, so with that extra # sign I'm totally at a loss.
AlienElysium That sharp sign is only in the old edition. They left it out in the new revised edition. ANYWAY, it is there as a "courtesy reminder". Most people will freak out when they see the grace note, and might forget that it's just a normal F#.....(you didn't freak out, but many people do)......so it's just there as an extra reminder. It's good that you already knew it should be F#!
Yes, Pete! Those white lines are just "pin-striping" tape from an auto body store. YOu can get it in any color. Make sure you get the 1/8" wide, not the 1/4". Good luck!
Oh yes, that is the part that gets EVERYONE. The biggest thing about that passage is getting your 2nd finger mobility so you can move from high 2 to low 2.....plus relaxing during all the slurs. YOu'll get it!
I am currently working very very hard on filming and producing my Suzuki Violin Book 4 video course.....it is kicking my butt....it's a huge course. Sorry I"ve been delinquent on UA-cam! (it's for a good reason)
Jack...not sure what you mean. My violin bridge is just the one made by the luthier who restored my violin. If you mean a bridge in the tune....I'm just playing the version out of Suzuki Violin Book 1. :-)
Hello there. This is Marisol. I was taking lessons and I stop. I almost finish with the 1st book (Suzuki 1) I would like to keep going with Suzuki's books. Are you teaching books 2 ad 3?
Ruba, the thing that makes those 16th notes so hard is to make the left hand to fast, but make the bow go slow. And I don't know what measure it is.....but there are slurred 16ths that also involve a string crossing. That's the worst one. In songs like this where there are LOTS of hard elements, try to practice ONE element at a time. Example: practice the 16th notes without slurs. Or, practice the 16th notes with the slur, but STOP on the string crossing. (don't finish the measure) Learning to isolate problem spots is a great skill to develop!
Ah, Ramona, I'm sorry, it would be impossible to say the strings AFTER the video was already made. Sorry! Since thisi viideo, I have started adding a close-up of my left hand which makes it MUCH easier to see the string I am on. But this is an old video.
Liang Yu Oh, I am saying, "BOW CIRCLE". That is the nick-name for when you do a down bow, then you "re-take" the bow and do another down bow. We call it "bow circles".
Ana, it is a slow PLAY-THROUGH....different from slow practice. Did you know you can slow down the video by clicking on the little "gear" icon on your screen? I use that feature all the time!
I know you posted this so long ago. But it helps when it is played slow, and I can see what your finger placement looks like. Thank you so much.
Thank you, Joan. Yes, these videos are very old....I'm glad they are still useful for people...even though you have to watch my hand from a backwards perspective.
Thanks a lot from Germany. This way to see is helpful! More please!🌻
Thank you, KT-ud3ol. I'll try to do more!

Romanian. Mulțumesc foarte mult . Va iubesc . Google Translate 😁😀
Mulțumesc! Si eu te iubesc!
Thanks miss
do you know how to make those 3 white lines?
Yes, Pete! Those white lines are just "pin-striping" tape from an auto body store. YOu can get it in any color. Make sure you get the 1/8" wide, not the 1/4". Good luck!
Thank
The sixteenth note part is pretty tough for me. I guess this is going to take me for a while to practice.
Oh yes, that is the part that gets EVERYONE. The biggest thing about that passage is getting your 2nd finger mobility so you can move from high 2 to low 2.....plus relaxing during all the slurs. YOu'll get it!
Hermosa muchas gracias
You are welcome!
Is it harder than the second minuet?
I think it's harder....but only that middle section. But Minuet 2 is not far behind in difficulty!
Thank you so much!
And when are you making another video???:)🎼🎻🎻🎻🎼
I am currently working very very hard on filming and producing my Suzuki Violin Book 4 video course.....it is kicking my butt....it's a huge course. Sorry I"ve been delinquent on UA-cam! (it's for a good reason)
These really helped me thorugh book 1and now i am on book 4
OMG, great job!!!
What bridge are you using?
Jack...not sure what you mean. My violin bridge is just the one made by the luthier who restored my violin. If you mean a bridge in the tune....I'm just playing the version out of Suzuki Violin Book 1. :-)
I am learning this song now
I bet you almost have it all learned by now! Keep up the good work!
You are awesome!
Hello there. This is Marisol. I was taking lessons and I stop. I almost finish with the 1st book (Suzuki 1) I would like to keep going with Suzuki's books. Are you teaching books 2 ad 3?
Marisol Diaz Hi Marisol. Yes I am. See the brand new video I just published about Book 3. And you can find out about book 2 at reddesertviolin.com.
This piece is killing me 😭 those slurred sixteen notes are the devil

@@RedDesertViolin i do, I'm better every day.. thanks to your tutorials 💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕

What tempo are you playing at?
I am playing it VERY slowly, at approximately eighth note=92.
keep up the slow tempo!
slow is most helpful?
Do it slower at the end parts please
😁♥️🎻
:-)
what does roll circle mean?
Liang Yu Oh, I am saying, "BOW CIRCLE". That is the nick-name for when you do a down bow, then you "re-take" the bow and do another down bow. We call it "bow circles".
Its full circle, not roll circle!😒
2:25 i thought it was slow practice... 😱
Ana, it is a slow PLAY-THROUGH....different from slow practice. Did you know you can slow down the video by clicking on the little "gear" icon on your screen? I use that feature all the time!
the gossic noodle is supossed to be fast
I like the tempo :-) but when I tried to follow the speed, I went a little to fast :-)
I just watch this cause brother and sis
Hello

Hey Stanny, did you know if you click on the "GEAR" icon on your youtube screen, you can slow down the speed? It's a GREAT feature!
