Hey guys, due to copyrights i had to review the music. Thanks for still hanging out with me :)
You should do some research into Waylon Jennings also. Once you know his history, especially in the 1950's and the story around the most fateful day of his life and how that shaped his future, you truly start to understand how incredible his later accomplishments are. So thankful that he was able to give us another 40 years of music after that day.
Waylon is the greatest.
Oh yes.. thank God he wasn't on that plane. I love me some Waylon
Thank you so much. Yes, the day the music died. Waylon never got over that. I'm so glad Sebs done this song for me. I did an STP reaction for him. Our channel is growing, but we do outlaw country there. I just wanted to Let Sebs know about the older country and how they did it back then and how real it was. The Waylon is one of my favorites by far.
He traded his spot on the flight with Big bopper bc bopper was sick, so he took the bus that day. Thank God for him he dud. But sadly that's the day the music died. Rest in peace Bopper, buddy Holly and Ritchie Valensuela!
@@lindseyholl8821, Correct. Tommy Allsup and Ritchie flipped a coin and Tommy lost the coin toss.
Waylon is the absolute best in country music
Best there ever was in my opinion
Absolutely
As for Hank Sr., you have to do The Ride by David Alan Coe and Midnight in Montgomery by Alan Jackson, both about Hank. Great reaction man! The pausing we understand. Thanks for not skipping! ♥️
both are amazing songs!
Hope you listen to some of Hank Sr songs before " Midnight in Montgomery ". The song has a lot of reference to Sr's songs in it and will make a lot of since. Montgomery ,Al is where Hank Sr is buried.
The Hank, Sr. song you should do just before you do MIDNIGHT IN MONTGOMERY by Alan Jackson is I’m SO LONESOME I COULD CRY,. Lots of references to it in Midnight in Montgomery. THE RIDE will give you goosebumps. Pull up the lyrics to these songs and follow along as you listen.
Waylon and Johnny Cash were very close friends. They were even roommates before Johnny married June. They were very close to Hank Jr. Hank even called Johnny and June his Godparents. You should do Hank's songs, Family Traditions, There's a tear in my beer. Which is his Father's song and he sings it with him.
If you start listening to Hank JR, it's required to start with "A Country Boy Can Survive," and go from there. It's a classic and a must for any country fan.
You should check out what Waylon, Willie, Johnny Cash and Kris Kristopherson ... they played some fabulous shows... The Highwayman... it's solid gold...
Can't go wrong with Waylon. Check out "I've always been crazy" and "Outlaw sh*t" He also wrote and sang the theme song for the original Dukes of Hazzard show. Check out "A country boy can survive " and " All my rowdy friends" for Hank jr. He and Waylon were great friends. Hank wrote "The eyes of Waylon" about Waylon after he died. Waylon was married to Jesse Colter and is the Grandfather of Struggle Jennings. Check out " God we need you now " from Struggle.
Don't forget "Waylon's Guitar" by Hank Jr.
Outlaw S*** sucks. Do the original Don’t You Think This Outlaw Bit’s Done Got Out of Hand.
@@jrshelton3398, I agree. The original is the best one.
Waylon was a father figure to Hank Jr Hank has a song that he treasures called In the eyes of Waylon. It is a must listen .
If you like outlaw country, check out "The Highwaymen". Its THE (outlaw) country super-band.
So very true
I like seeing some of these young folk seeing what they missed back then. So many find out this stuff is awesome. Waylon is the best.... Hank Jr is a very close second.
The Country you like is done by artists that left Nashville and went to Austin, TX to record with Willie Nelson. That's where the "Outlaw" name came into play. Try Waylon Jennings song Are You Sure Hank Done It This Away. Fantastic reaction.
A lot of Hank Jr.'s songs reference his father's songs if you know the titles. Family Tradition, Living Proof, Standing in The Shadows. Country Boy Can Survive, Superman, Mr. Weatherman, Outlaw's Reward. The list goes on.
Hank Sr. is the first country "superstar". He wrote hundreds of songs and had tons of hits even though he died in his twenties. Please find and watch the movie, "I Saw The LIght" featuring Tom Hiddleston (Yes, Loki from the Marvel movies) portraying Hank Williams. Fantastic movie, acting and music.
Fabulous movie!
Before that movie even came out, I had a moment where I was thinking it would be awesome if they finally made a movie about Hank Sr. Then I thought "I Saw the Light" would be a great name for it.
Then I decided to Google it, and saw that they were actually working on one under that name, staring Tom Hiddleston.. That disappointed the hell out of me, because I badly wanted Hank III to play Hank Sr, given that they look and sound pretty similar. So I never could bring myself to watch it after all of these years.
But I searched at the time and saw that supposedly Hank III had no interest in playing Hank Sr. And he didn't like that they chose Tom Hiddleston. He even had a post commenting on a video of Tom Hiddleston performing live, getting ready for his role, in which Hank III said he couldn't moan the blues properly. Hank III wanted a southern actor to play Hank Sr.
FINALLY - the King & Father of Outlaw music!!! Waylon's "HonkyTonk Heros" is considered the song that literally started the outlaw movement!!! I am 74 & STILL listen to Waylon & Hank jr weekly!!!!
I love him so much. Waylon was amazing.
While Hank Jr was young, he also traveled with Waylon, and others during those wild and crazy times!❤
"That don't deserve no answer, Hoss, let's light up and just move along." is my ringtone for anyone not on my family list - has been for 15 years. I love it.
Hank Williams Sr. was traditional country & had recorded one song called 'There's a tear in my beer' during his short career that Jr. must have liked, because many years later, with some creative 'magic', Hank Jr. made a video/recording 'with' his dad, turning the song into a duet. with him inserted right into his dad's video. Very fun, back when we did not have today's technology. Check it out.
You can't go wrong with any Hank Jr. If you like back stories, then you need to check out Hank Jr's, All in Alabama. It's a song about a trip he took to Montana to get away from the drugs, alcohol and depression of living life in his dads shoes. But it ended up in Montana fighting for his life after a 500 ft fall off the side of a mountain slitting his head into exposing his brain.
Yeah these two have quite the history. Hank Sr. Waylon and his career starting with the day the music died. Hank Jr. dealt with a lot. RIP Hank Sr. RIP Waylon. Willie and Waylon tape was something I listened to as a young boy. And Waylon did the Dukes of Hazard theme song too, and that was a favorite show of mine when I was little.
The waitress that Waylon woo' d at is Waylon's wife Jessi Colter who sings too & Waylon played with Buddy Holly & was bumped off the flight which was the one that killed Buddy and the Big Bopper, Hank Jr. was rock climbing Ajax MTN. in Montana and almost died when he fell and it split his skull open.
The Big Bopper had the flu. So Waylon gave up his seat to J.P. so that he could get to the next show stop and get to a doctor. Tommy Allsup and Ritchie Valens flipped a coin for the other seat and Tommy lost the coin flip.
Yes, the day the music died. That's why I wanted him to do this song so bad. Because I know he is doing country music, but we all know that there is a division within country from the older and the newer stuff. You just thought this old cat something I did not know, though. I did not know that was Jesse Coulter playing the waitress. Thank you. That made my day. We are doing a lot of the outlaw country. My partner is an 80s metal guy and hasn't really heard the older country. So come check us out. We have our name in the description above.
Yep that fall is why hank jr has the facial hair and always wears the sunglasses his face is messed up from the fall
Never heard this song, it’s going on my playlist, grew up with Sr on the record player . Last April I lost my father, while he was getting ready to cross over, we played the old 60’s country, Hank was on the play list. I hope it brought him comfort, it did for us. Hank jr was doing some hard living in my teen years, never listened much to him. Possibly because of his accident. Check out Jr family tradition song, a bit about both of them. Good memories 😊
Waylon Jennings is a Country Music legend, from back when Country was still real. If someone who had never heard a Country song asked me to play one song that is the epitome of Country Music, I'd play "WURLITZER PRIZE" by Waylon Jennings. Waylon was the real deal, and he is sure missed.
Omgoodness, you are finally playing HANK JR.! Hank Jr. is a freaking bad ass!! I absolutely love that man! Yes, most of his songs are outlaw country, which is great, however.....he does have a softer side, which is smooth and sexy.
** For classic, straight up bad ass Hank Jr, check out the music VIDEO of his song A COUNTRY BOY CAN SURVIVE.**
** For the softer side of Hank Jr, check out the VIDEO of his song called THE LAST LOVE SONG.**
You will love both!
Absolute badass!
This is my favorite song ever. Sung by two of the best about the greatest of all time. Anybody who wants to argue about Hank Sr. being the greatest of all time, ask yourself..."what other act do they still play on the radio 70+ years after his death?". Who else has songs covered by others 7 decades after their death? Mr. Hank Williams Sr. was the GOAT, will never give up that title. RIP Hiram and thank you for the songs.
You are very welcome. That's why I requested this song. I wanted to show homage to the greats of country music. That's what we're doing on my channel. Sebs is who gifted me the microphone that I have now, and I. absolutely am grateful for all the songs he's done for me before I was reaction channel myself. You can click here on my picture or in the link up there, where he put my channel. Then my buddy, we are delving into all of the outlaw country. He is an 80s guy who has heard only metal really. how he knew about the stereotypical love em crying or leaving songs. So come check us out. Thank you for acknowledging how great Hank Williams senior was and is!
I love your channel @@DannyLeeOGT
Need to listen to Hank Williams Jr sing Blues Man!
Love Hank Williams JR's music. This is such a great song; he's also has done duets with other artist as well, Johnny Cash, Ray Charles, Little Richard to name a few. Waylon Jennings is amazing as well, I remember the day he passes I was so sad. RIP Hoss.
This is my favorite Waylon song. Love love love it!!!!
I saw Hank Jr. in 1966 with my folks, I was 12. Miss Audrey was with him and he only played his dad's stuff. There were many big names from the 50's country as well as up and comers, like the guy Hank was just singing with. That's back in the day when performers didn't mind when you came down front ( which I did ) to take a picture and go back to your seat. At Hanks show that I later went to, I had security rushing at me as I turned around, they saw me take a picture. You could actually see the relief on their faces as I was going to sit down again.
Waylon Jennings is one of my favorites you had his own style no one can’t mimic! Hank jr is an incredible musician he always found his own style that ruled outside of Nashville too
Also Waylon was sometime considered the Hank of this era. He was a huge Hank Sr fan. He was given Hank's boots.
Outlaw country is absolutely my favorite. Waylon is my favorite along with Hank Jr. A very deep hole with Waylon. Amazing life.
Outlaw country is legit! This coming from a rock ‘n’ roll, and R&B guy
Waylon Jennings -- Seb you will love him.
In my opinion Waylon is the G.O.A.T.
I'm going to make a bold statement here... Music as we know it today. All genres goes back to Hank Williams SR. influence on the change and struggle against the corporation. He was raw and gritty. Sung songs from the heart. Dealt with pains and heartache. He learned guitar from an old black blues singer (Tee tot) and played in a mixed style of western and blues which was a MAJOR thing in the 30's through 50's southern USA. He had an overbearing mother that controlled much of his life. He was born with spina bifida and had back pain throughout his whole life. He didn't know how to read sheet music. He would drink and take pain killers for his backpain and of course get too drunk or high to perform, or even show up. He wrote most of his own songs with only a handful being not written by him. I think it was over 150 songs that he wrote
Jimmy Rogers was another legend from that era... traveling all over, jumping trains... one of the first!
You are exactly right. This is why I suggested this we have. started doing the outlaw country on the channel. and I am the one that requested the Jamie Johnson in color that got Sebastian started on this country journey. So other than the Johnny Cash on he did for Trent Reznor hurt. I just want to pay homage to these great artists. And yes, Hank Senior did all that in a 5 year career. He is in the Rock and Roll the country. The Native American, the songwriters. He's in like six Hall of Fame. And yes, Jimmy Rogers was technically doing this thing before Hank Williams. These men are who created the genre. because no one knew any music outside of gospel on regular radio waves. So when these singers, Jimmy Rogers and Hank Williams, came out their music, they had to find a different term other than gospel to call this music. So it became country music. And then blues And then Elvis Presley, who was also born In the same area. right round the same time. So country rock and roll and the Blues all come from the southern USA. Now I would say metal in the hard rock came from overseas with Zeppelin. and by Sabbath. On the channel we have done a lot of forbidden country. We call it. I have done reactions to Hank Williams's senior. My partner has done reactions to the Judds Sawyer Brown. Kenny Rogers and many more. Just click on my icon there, or the link in the description of the video. Thank you. Sebastian, and thank you all for loving country music.
Dope song, video and reaction. RIP Waylon. I just saw Hank Jr. in concert a few months ago at the Wharf in Alabama. I love outlaw country music.
These are the real men that changed and shook the country music industry to its core! They are straight up LEGEND'S !
I grew up 8 miles away from Waylon Jennings. He was born in Littlefield Texas and I was born in Amherst Texas. He still has the best Outlaw Music in the land.
Janet and I's favorite song of Hank Jr is ". QUEEN OF MY HEART" and favorite Waylon song is" DREAMING MY DREAMS WITH YOU" TY FOR keeping an open mind and constantly being surprised and Impressed with COUNTRY MUSIC.
One of my favorites videos! of all time!
Love this song. Its name says it all. They’re just having a conversation put to music.
I was in my 20’s before I knew my hometown in WV is where Hank Sr was found dead. In fact, the gas station where the car was stored was across the street from the church I went to.
Back then, the old folks in town refused to talk about him or even celebrate him because of his reputation, habits and cause of death.
The reason I found out was because there was a group wanting to turn the gas station into a museum for Sr. The “old guard” of the town fought it hard and won. The gas station has since been torn down and they made a compromise and named that stretch of Main Street as “Hank Williams Sr Memorial Highway”.
Cheers!
Hank Williams Sr. is considered the greatest of all country performers. His songs to this day are probably recorded by more artists than any other. He had a very troubled life with chronic back pain (it's been suggested in recent years that he had spina bifida) that caused him to seek relief in drink and drugs and died of a drug overdose in the back of a Cadillac on the way to a performance in Ohio. He was, as the song mentioned, fired from the Grand Ole Opry, despite being its most popular star, because they couldn't tolerate his drinking.
Many people consider "I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry" to be the greatest country song ever written. He could write weepers (Your Cheatin' Heart, A Mansion on the Hill, Cold, Cold Heart), upbeat songs (Jambalaya, Hey, Good Lookin', Settin' the Woods on Fire) and gospel (I Saw the Light). A rabbit hole well worth exploring.
This entire album from Jr was FIRE. I grew up on it. My music tastes changed over time when country music began to suck (right after Garth), but this old stuff is fantastic.
Hank Williams Sr. is the one who propelled Country Music into the spotlight. His songs have been recorded by dang near everybody. George Thorougood covered "Move It On Over". Hank was not only Country but Rock & Roll as well before anyone knew what Rock & Roll was.
Waylon Jennings played with Buddy Holle but came up with the outlaw sound. I highly suggest either Good Hearted Woman, Ain't Living Long Like This or Clyde.
There is so much musical history tied to these two legends. There is no wrong turn down the rabbit hole. Hank Sr wrote so many hits in the 1940s that are still covered today! As a Christian I suggest checking out "I Saw The Light" by Hank Williams. Legendary gospel song
Chris Ladoux was a Bronk rider and a great human being. Was a sad day when he passed with cancer way to young..my grandsons raise bucking bulls and love to listen to Chris Ladoux still
Toward the end of the video, Waylon takes notice of the brunette waitress; I am pretty sure that she is Waylon's wife (and singer in her own right), Jessi Colter.
Thank you. Love love this song
So glad someone finally reacted to this under-appreciated classic.
Though, I'm sure it doesn't make a lot of sense if you don't know Hank Jr's dad, the legend Hank Williams Sr. One of the most influential artists of all time.
You gotta get hip to Hank Sr. He was the original outlaw. And he had such a unique sound. And SO MANY great songs! My favorite is "Jambalaya"... but there are so many more. I'd love to see you react to some of his songs...to see what you think! Best wishes to you, Ali, and your beautiful girls!
I love that you react to the OG's and not just the new stuff.
Hey dude I have been a Hank Jr. fan along time I have seen him five times in concert good entertainer I still have a picture I took of him 1975 ... like your show
Hank, Sr. also was known as Luke the Drifter. Seb you should listen to the songs off the album of the same title since you love songs that tell a story.
Correct. Luke The Drifter was his alter ego that sang gospel music.
Your Cheatin' Heart is a legendary song by Hank Sr.😊
Waylon forever
You gotta check out some more Hank! We've seen him 5 times in concert, what a show!! And I almost ran Waylon with a laundry cart when I worked at Harrah's in Lake Tahoe because I was checking out his wife,Jessy Colter.
Years later, technology allowed Junior to "Sing" with his daddy. Look up the song "There's a Tear in My Beer" What they did was there was footage of Senior singing it and spliced Junior into it creating a duet that never really happened.
Also as others have stated, you really need to look into Waylon Jenning's background. He was at the forefront of "Rock & Roll" at the beginning of the genre before becominga country music legend. That story you'll need to look up yourself
Go on down the Hank Jr rabbit hole you won’t be disappointed
You should also try Country great: Merle Haggard's (I'm an) Okee from Muskogee, (an Oklahoman) small-town versus big city people and morals song from our Vietnam War era!
You need to listen to Sr, just to have some reference to this song. WILLIE NELSON N HANK SR, the early years were the real original outlaws
“A Country Boy Can Survive” and “Family Tradition” are the next two you need to react to young man. I really enjoy your videos 💜👵🏼✌🏼🌻
Love this love both men
Hank Sr also wrote gospel songs including 'I Saw the Light'
Love me some Waylon and Bocephus , check out the movie "I Saw The Light " . A movie about Hank Williams Sr.
Also....Living Proof (Hank Jr's life story, starring Richard Thomas)
From Waylon giving up his seat on Buddy Holly's plane to Hank falling off a mountain, these guys were spared for a purpose.
Now you have to listen to Hank III singing The Grand Ole Opry Ain’t So Grand Anymore. Dick in Dixie is a great one too.
These guys were original legends
Lots of references to Hanks songs in that song. Lots of history also
Bocephus and Watasha.... two forever legends
Waylon, the true Outlaw.
You should check out the Hank Jr. song Blues Man. Hank Sr was the original superstar and an icon. When he died at the age of 29, he was supposed to do a show, and when the audience heard the news they sang " I saw the light" in his honor.
You should see the video with Hank Jr singing There's A Tear In My Beer with his dad via CGI.
Hank Jrs , Women Ive never had is my favorite song
Hanks mom was Waylon's manager before he got big. Hank Jr. said he always preferred to ride on Waylon's bus going between shows when he was a kid.....
Need to do Hank Williams jr Ballad of Hank.
Grew up listen to Hank Jr, love me some "Bocephus"!! Great reaction to some Outlaw Country!!
Another important thing to note about Hank Jr is he was involved in an avalanche and his neighbors saved his life I think that's why his face has scars
Great song - simple and straightforward like most Outlaw Country. Check out Hank's "Outlaw Women" - similar vibe. The Conversation is a great tribute to Hank Sr. Hank Sr. lived a really hard, fast life, but was one of those spirits who was all about music and performing. Hank Sr. is considered a giant of country music now, but in his day, he was shunned for his scandalous lifestyle.
When i was teenager, i had this album, Willie Nelson's "Red Headed Stranger", and The Outlaws in my album collection, amongst Judas Priest, Iron Maiden and Black Sabbath. 😂
Will someone PLEASE react to Hank Jr's song called "All In Alabama".
It's about an accident he had in which he fell 500ft, during the time period of his identity crisis. Which is why he always wears a beard and shades since, to cover his scars.
REAL OUTLAW COUNTRY!!!!
please do more of both musicians..country boy can survive is one of his biggest hits. He has a lot of those but my favorite is I've Got Rights....awesome song. Also read up about his accident on the mountain and why he wears glasses and has a beard.
Two of the best OUTLAWS I'm the business.
Great song
There's another creation of the conversation with Hank Jr. and Waylons' son, Shooter, and with Shooter and Hank Jr's daughter, Holly. Pass the torch to the next generation type.
Waylon also has a great song called “Are You Sure Hank Done It This Way”
My favorite!! It's great!!!
Mrs. Audrey and “the man who done her wrong” are Audrey and Hank William Sr., the parents of Hank Williams Jr., not to mention they are all country music royalty.
Hank JR also sanmg about his life in thed song "Shadow Face"
hank williams sr was only 29 at the time of his death and hank jr also has a half sister jett williams who be 4 yrs younger than him her mother billie jett was her mother jett too bacame a country singer
Waylon did some other good outlaw songs too like "Ain't Living Long Like This," "Don't You Think This Outlaw Bit's Done Got Out Of Hand," and "Are You Sure Hank Done ItThis Way."
In 1975 Hank Jr. (Bocephus) fell over 500 ft. from Ajax Peak in Montana and almost died. He spend around 7 hours in surgery and he said when he woke up June Carter Cash (his godmother) and Johnny Cash were at his bedside. He said he had no idea if he would survive or talk, walk, sing or what his life would be like. This is one of the reasons he wears darker glasses all the time. The fall damaged something with his optics and the lights really bother him now.
He's blind in one eye and it's all milky and creepy looking so he wears the shades. He's talked about it in the past. He wears the beard to hide the scars and the glasses to hide the eye.
@@Falcun21 What a crazy scary experience to come back from. Mad respect for him.
Waylon broke every rule in country music and was the 1st at everything he did..He brought Nashville to its knees and gave Every musician the right to own their music rights, including Willie...Waylon never liked to be seen for other then his music and broke down the doors for so many without taken credit for it..
Hank Jr & Shooter Jennings (Waylon's son) do a version of this song after Waylon's death.
Waylon is the man.
Shooter has done a few albums, my favorite though is on his first album, Manifesto #1
Those country singers who didn’t meet the standards of traditional country and western singers were called Outlaws. The original Outlaws were Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash, Merle Haggard, Kris Kristofferson, Charlie Daniels and David Allen Coe.
Please do check out more Hank Williams Jr, Sr, and for a real treat try Hank 3 the grandson...
I, unfortunately, never saw Waylon live.. I've seen Hank Jr. 3 or 4 times I guess... but Waylon was my fav. this song talks about Bocephus and his Daddy... ppl taking songs from his Daddy and riding on his name... Bocephus (Hank Jr.) never copied from his Daddy.. He made his own style of music.. Outlaw music.. great music
Another great song about the ghost of Hank Williams is “The Ride” by David Allen Coe
