Just be aware that specs from carriers are often not as good as the more expensive unlocked versions direct from Motorola, even though they give them the same name. (I've had the Carrier 5G Stylus 2021 and Stylus 5G 2022 (from Motorola with better CPU + 8GB RAM/256GB Storage/NFC ). Been happy with them both overall, although they occasionally glitch and need a restart. Interested to see in this video what the 2023 model can offer. I've not been that impressed with battery life given the size of the battery though, I will say that. They could do with making a 'offset' to the auto brightness feature as well, so you can adjust it to how you like the auto feature to work. I've had two major updates to my 2022 as well. Currently on Android 13 when it updated a week or so ago.
I accidentally ordered the Cricket version of the Moto G Stylus 5G (2023) not realizing it only had 4GB RAM. This is not enough for my needs and will return it soon as the unit arrives. I got blinded by the 128GB storage space. Bummer.
Does the 2023 version support WIFI calling with AT&T networks? There are conflicting remarks about this. Need to know as this is 100% necessary! Thanks!!
People always give the camera shade, I will say I did replace the Motorola camera app with a different one with actual options immediately on my 2023. But the overall quality is far better than the $400 GoPro I was using. Yes gopros aren't meant for yt vids but the moto is surprisingly good for the price with features such as autofocus and overall better clarity, paid $40 at Walmart for Black Friday this year.
Doesn't matter if it still on android there's ways to update it to 13,my Motorola was on android 11 and no update so I updated it 13 it's 2023 and you can update 13 on phones that came with Android 10
I just bought and am now using the 2022 5G model. I'm not paying 1000 for a simple phone. I really don't need cool features like a million cameras. One selfie and one on that back would be fine for me as I'm not huge on SSL media uploads of photos... I like the phone, but it's such a good price I'm considering getting the new model as well, in case I decide to upgrade at my desires instead of them trying to lock me into a higher monthly bill. That's crazy. They'll talk you into circles. I may buy another of this one. I actually like having more than one phone in my place because I can use Alfred security camera which I do often pay for a subscription for but not always. If you have a subscription you can like watch your pets and talk to them through the phone. I just really wanted to see what they thought about the differences since I did buy the older model. I got the 256 GB and the 8 on RAM. The newer model with the highest features is on Amazon for 299. I paid 239 for this phone and Verizon wants 399 for the 2023. I can get it unlocked here for $100 cheaper. It just doesn't have a SIM card. If I'm just using it for Wi-Fi and camera capabilities, and I really need that SIM card or I can pop the really old one that I have in the phone because I don't need any of the data services. I still have a SIM card tied to my old phone number floating around that I did put in my lgv60 even though it's a 4G sim, this phone is a 5G phone. It just doesn't matter because I don't need it for any of that. But even though I have two old phones I could use, the screens are cracked on both of them and I'm not spending any more money to get things fixed. I wasted a ton of money trying to buy replacement parts for my old phones to try to keep them which was stupid because I'm still paying on that order and I'm no longer using either one of those old phones. I mean I will still watch UA-cam videos on them because the screens are cracked in a way that it's not really affecting the touch or the viewing. I also have to say that the case I found on Amazon for the 2022 5G phone which is hard to locate one, I love it. I even dropped my phone the other day and was so scared I dropped it from my head height all the way down so that's over 5 ft and it came out of the case but there was no damage to anything but the case by scuffing it up a little bit. I may order another one as a backup. It even comes with a little flap that you can cover your cameras with and lock into place so that they can't get either dirty or they'll be less likely to break or shatter. I know these phone use some old components which is probably why they can cost less and they did away with some features like why wireless charging but I don't care even though I have a million wireless chargers I still have other things that do wirelessly charge so I'll be able to still use those. The power supply that comes with the phone will not allow any kind of fast charge. But it does have a turbocharged you just have to use a more powerful USB c charger cord and port. I'm so sick of the Samsung train even though my main Smart TV is a Samsung and they work well there, I do still have an old Samsung phone, the S9 so it's usable with the TV still. I don't even need cable or anything. I don't watch a lot of TV but between the automatically built-in channels on my Samsung Smart TV and the ones that are on my Samsung phone, that I can cast onto my Samsung TV, I literally don't need anyting. I do pay for Hulu streaming in that is it because I added Disney which I'm about to take off because I've never used it. I'm going to have to pick up Netflix because we no longer can share the family one. My daughter and I both use the Amazon prime streaming services especially for the horror channel that does cost a little, the channel is Shudder. Anyway sorry for my novella here. I've been thinking about phones for months and even after activation this one, I'm wanting to get that meet model and not for my actual phone but for Wi-Fi only. Both of them are still half what the flagship models they try to herd you into. They work just fine.
Is it better than the single speaker on the 2022. I can pick up a 2022 for less than half of what a 23 cost.. i was doubting that its worth the extra money

Just upgraded to this phone from moto one 5g and in my experience with the 5000m battery, a good 6-8 hours of constant media usage can be expected. Power management will get you to the 2 days standby time. Only on day 2 so far, still setting up the usage parameters for adaptive battery. Overall Moto phones have great battery life but I'm brutal on phone batteries especially with heavy android auto usage. User replaceable batteries would be a plus instead of buying a phone every couple of years. Having a Mophie type case available would also help with battery life. Haven't had one since getting rid of old galaxy S3. Fourth or 5th moto phone.
The same one at Cricket has 128GB of storage with 4GB of RAM. I can't get anyone to give me a straight answer if 4GB of RAM is good enough. I don't play games on my phone. Mostly listening to Podcasts, social apps, and Waze for directions. So is it good enough??
I have had 3 motorola phones of the stylus series. The moto g stylus 2021 without the 5g was a great phone. Loved it so much that I still have it. 😂. The moto g stylus 5g 2021 was ok but didnt like the fingerprint reader on the back and it was buggy with the software. I now have the moto g stylus 5g 2022 and love it! Now I do wanna mention that the moto edge 2022 would be a step up from both 2022 and 2023 g stylus 5g models and you do get 3 android upgrades and its now about the same price as both😊 But you will loose the stylus😢
Nah I own a 2022 model and it's still a good phone! It has an efficient processor, battery life is great, and personal preference, but I like the size better at 6.8 inches. Buy the 2023 model if it's your first G Stylus or if it's a significant upgrade from a less powerful phone, not as a replacement to last year's model.
Charging is only 10W on the 2022, versus 20W on the 2023. Is the charging speed of the 2023 close to twice as fast in practice? Edit: Apparently, GSMarena is wrong? 2022 comes with 10W charger, but supports 15W charging?
It's 15w on the moto g stylus 2022 and drops to 8w around 80% mark I have a cable to measure watts yes 2023 everyone says it's 20w which is big improvement
The charging is very quick I go from 25 to 100 in about 50 mins but I have to use a separate charger! The one it came with is only 15w and I don't even think it goes that high!
They all have the same problems as the 2021 model. Namely, touch screen is just not right. You can't select things you want to work without hitting it 3 times (seems determined to crash my car by forcing me to look at it) while the rest of the time just brushing against the screen lightly causes it to do all sorts of things that I don't want it to do. Using the pen near the edge of the screen causes it to be confused with gesture to go back. It's too bad because otherwise it's a solid unit, with a large battery, a big screen and latest version of Android
I upgraded to the 2020 version from the 2020 stylus last year. I liked the smaller screen better cause I didn't have to shuffle my hand as much. Do you shuffle less with the 2023? Also I really miss duel speakers
