This is the second video I've watched. I thought this would be something simple. It's more complex than I thought. Now, I'm second-guessing this DIY project.
I bought three backsplashes just to do a sample on a small portion of the wall in the kitchen. After applying the backsplashes, realized I put the backsplash against the wall in the corner and if I apply backsplash to the wall next to it, it’d overlap. That was whoopsie #1. Then on the outer wall where the backsplash ends, all I see is black adhesive because its not flatted out at the edge of the wall. I realized this wasnt as simple as I thought and decided to leave the remaining walls untouched🤣🤣 Oh well! I tried.
I know a couple people that used the Giani and said they had great results. One had on for 4 years until she sold her house and the other just did a color change after 5 years.
This is a good video on the subject and informative, however to say that contractors don't level anything is absurd. I spent 30 years as a Forman working both residential and commercial working every trade. Once completed typically in 3 to 6 months even the newest home will settle as different materials jockey for comfort in a complete system. Again this touches on issues most home owners find "the hard way" due to lack of knowledge or skill and improper tooling. Something to consider when starting DIY projects, thanks.
I just used this thick plastic product and found it very hard to cut around corners. It splits in intersection when using pliers to break off. Use a Drexel if using the smooth white subway version.
You used thick plastic? Quite confused when you talk about pliers. I think you meant to say Dremel not Drexel but you wouldn't need either one of those tools if you're using the same stuff that I put up on my walls

If you don't mind the work and have buddies to help you can pull the cabinets and counter tops and reinstall them and level them... if it is a old kitchen might as well get new cabinets then... yay old houses and the can of worms that pop open when you try to update a room...
Hello i purchased this tile fron amazon. It is a big learning curve for me considering it is my first time. The outlets are challenging. How do you fill in any gaps. If I decided to pull off and start over do I really need to adhesive remover?😢
any larger gaps I just filled with white caulk. If you pull it off and start over, I would get the surface back to as smooth as possible. Scrape and clean or you won't get good adhesion when you reapply the material
There is some peeling happening now...3 or 4 small areas...so I'll be applying a clear cover soon to extend the life. I'll record that when I get to it but so busy right now, not sure how soon it will be up to show.
As of when we sold the house last October, yes. I did end up covering it with clear vinyl before we sold, to make it last even longer and truly waterproof it.
@@bruceclark4209 it just started wearing off in the high use areas. I had applied 3 coats of clear finish that had great reviews and it said only a recoat once per year would be needed. Both the clear coat and black finish started wearing off within 6mos.
I tried to remove one part of the stick and peel backsplash and the black adhesive is stuck on the wall😭 Looks like the only way for me to remove the backsplashes would be to cut the wall out. Not cool!

Best video that I found so far regarding peel and stick tiles. I got the information I was looking for and did not find it anywhere else
Thanks for watching!
Thank you for your video! I have the exact same but instead of silver it’s Gold. Slowly getting it together! Your video helped alot

I'm very pleased how mine turned out. I wish I could post a picture
Love the contractor BS shot! lol
I am in the process of installing; having a hella time cutting out the outlets.
Awesome video helping me a lot. I didn't see a link from the trim. It's exactly what I need. Can you share that thanks.

Beautiful work 👍🏼
Thank you! I bought the blue’ish ones.
just noticed your tiles are the $44 (for 20) w/ $5 off, but the blue’ish ones are $68 for 10! yikes.
oh wait…you later said only 5 in the package…. they’re trying to confuse us.
This was great. Thank you
Thanks for the video. Where did you get the trim edging?

Where did you get the metal trim amd what size?
Will this stick to a textured wall?
Where did you buy the trim/edging? I checked Lowes and hone depot and had no luck.
looking for the same answer did you ever find it?
What’s the color name on Amazon that you installed
I ended up buying DIP...but looks nice. off topic: how are those usb outlets working out? Are they fast?
The usb outlets are working great!

How has it held up? I’m waiting for my Amazon delivery for my 1st foray into peel n stick tile.
Like new! No problems.

How is the backsplash looking now? Can you post an updated video? Any peeling or issues?

Is it still up in your kitchen ?

Did you caulk where the trim meets the countertops? Asking because i am going to be working on a peel and stick backsplash this week.
I did not, only because we don't really splash water everywhere. If you're worried about water getting behind the backsplash, I'd clear caulk it.
Awesome. Thanks!
OMG I need that trim in gold lol!
It’s available in all different colors! Not sure about gold, though…

What did you cleaning your walls with?
It was either simple green or a citrus based degreaser. Either would work.
Thanks. I have wall strips on my walls can I put this over it or how should I do that?
