You’re confusing acting choices with acting capability. Just because an actor’s not emoting a certain way, that doesn’t mean they’re incapable of doing it. They’ve decided it’s not true to the character. If they made the choices you suggested, THAT would be over the top, out of character, bad acting.

Given the context of A-Train being addicted to the Compound V and not being able to get it or something his kind of lighter tone in that scene with Hughie kind adds to the like unhinged withdrawal vibe he would have

The thing is with hughie being compared to grant gustin in that scene is that zoom was a completely evil monster who killed without any emotion or motive, he hurt people for fun and barry knew that. He knew in that instant that his dad was dead so the only thing he could do was plead for his life. A train has a conscience, its not a strong one but he isnt evil, he’s just a celebrity who happens to have powers that could end people if he chooses. Hughies’ dad could potentially get hurt or killed if he doesn’t leave but if push comes to shove, it isn’t A trains style to just kill an innocent man without a strong motive, he didn’t have to plead for his dads life he just wanted him to be in a safer environment. That worry is understandable, especially from someone thats trying to act brave in front of his enemy and act strong in front of his dad, barry had gone past that point and was just desperate and powerless to save his dad, all he could do in that moment was beg.
I honestly feel like I would put Colby in either the “amazing” or “Oscar-worthy” performance section, her anxiety and meltdowns are so realistic and her acting is very detailed. The scene of her that you showed in your video is one of my favorite scenes with her , I loved how she goes from scared/vulnerable when she’s listening to starlight, to cold again. You earned a sub. Also, i'm curious on who you think has the best acting ever and on which piece of media.
Has some people pointed out, thats how they where told to Act by the Director, Karl was told to Stand and talk and not get in there face, that's not a flaw on his talent, just doing his Job
Considering Jensen Ackles was Emmy worthy (ie. Oscar Worthy) and carried season 3 is weird that he’s not mentioned here. Also shoutout to Stormfront. Should be on here (maybe not Oscar worthy but still great)
I do think that Chace Crawford (The Deep) deserves a much higher rank! His scenes always get me and Im constantly wainting for more of it. To make it quick: he is phenomenal at showing pain and suffering. Yes, he is a comedy relief, however, only because we enjoy seeing an unlikable character suffering through a lot. The scene in which he must eat the octopus or (S4 spoiler) when he kills his "girlfriend". It is done SO well! I would have at least given him an Amazing if not Oscar winning, but that is just my opinion
12:31 Isn’t that literally the point of the majority of Maeve’s arc though? “A supe scared to express themselves fully?” 12:43 I find the stiff hand thing kinda realistic too. Sometimes you’re just focused on verbally lashing out and you leave other parts of your body tense and still.
I disagree with the M.M. part, it is in his character to be calm and reserved. He is responsible and cautious of his own actions due to his ocd, he never wanted to hurt Todd and stayed civil. When he did punch him it was more of a jerk reaction. That being said I do agree that his facial expressions can have some improvement.
I’m fine with Hughie taking to their dad in season one. The point is to show that they have grown, and that they aren’t afraid anymore. They’re become stronger since the beginning of the season and are more in control of their life.
Hughie wasn't pleading nor scared maybe because they planned something (kimiko hits a train) and he doesn't wanna show fear as for robins death he needs to stand for her, like he don't wanna show fear on atrain
hughie not expressing fear is because he was confident in his plan. dumb point considering the character isn't scared so why should the actor portray fear
To be honest I’ve always considered Hughie to be the main character of Season 1 as we are introduced to the world and story along with him but after that season I believe that Butcher takes over as the lead. Not just because of the promotional material for the show featuring him a lot but because it starts to centre more around him more since his aim to kill Homelander is still the major plot point of the show whereas Hughie’s vengeance arc for A-Train was somewhat resolved already. Also I agree with you about Elizabeth’s acting. It was perfect casting imo.
7:03 Can we talk about how the fuck you somehow managed to make the subscribe button have a colored outline right as you were talking about subscribing?
I wouldn't say that Huey isn't showing great when he's telling his dad to get out, I'd say his fear is making him move less as most of his attention is on whar A-Train might do and the lack of expressiveness is mostly just him doing his best to not be completely frozen with fear, or could show a heightened focus. I'd say during dangerous situations, people will often set their emotions aside in favor of doing what needs to be done, after which the emotions come out.
Obviously Hughie doesn't have rage smh, that's kinda the point, Hughie isn't very scary like Butcher or Homelander, he's kinda "a little bitch boy" And the reason he is having more and more rage is cuz of a little thing called character development. You're a little too focused on the actors you didn't seem to think about the characters or story, I'll let you slide on the otjer opinions but not this one, still much love to ya ❤
I saw anthony starr in Banshee he is even better there cause that show is literally all about his sensational acting in a very good plot he is one of the phenomenal actors I ve seen in my lifetime

@@KoshoReviews highlander and butcher (Karl Urban and Anthony Starr) are. they are both amazing with voice changes and small facial movements when acting.
12:30 Maeve does not move nc she is super strong and cannot act on her emotions. She is afraid of hurting someone, thats why she is stiff. I think thats actually great acting
Erin’s bad acting is not because of her ability, its because of the botox, her face looks like its gonna break if she smiles. Not surprised her best acting was in season 1 and one of her worst is in the later seasons
You know, the main problem I see with your judgement is that it seems that you have more problems with the directing of the scenes than the acting, but still putting the "blame" on them? You earned a sub. Also, i'm curious on who you think has the best acting ever and on which piece of media.
Thank you SOO much that means a lot, welcome to the fam ❤️❤️🤝
Has some people pointed out, thats how they where told to Act by the Director, Karl was told to Stand and talk and not get in there face, that's not a flaw on his talent, just doing his Job
tbh fair, I shouldn't have let my PERSONAL suggestions cloud the review, next one will be better
„Hewgie“ 😭
Considering Jensen Ackles was Emmy worthy (ie. Oscar Worthy) and carried season 3 is weird that he’s not mentioned here. Also shoutout to Stormfront. Should be on here (maybe not Oscar worthy but still great)
Omg i just discovered a gem how are you still not a 100k channel??? you're so entertaining to watch ❤❤
Thank you SOOO much, means a lot!! Welcome to the channel, we will get there FORSUREE
12:31
Isn’t that literally the point of the majority of Maeve’s arc though? “A supe scared to express themselves fully?”
12:43
I find the stiff hand thing kinda realistic too. Sometimes you’re just focused on verbally lashing out and you leave other parts of your body tense and still.
Now THAT is fair tbh, I personally overlooked it, idkk tho I think it would have looked better with movement so it may be preference arghhh
The a train and hughie convo in 1x7 is probably my favorite scene in the show bc of how well jessie t usher performed a train
No way you put MM in the average category. He deserves to be in tge good category
bluddy’s gonna get lasered in half for that thumbnail
I disagree with the M.M. part, it is in his character to be calm and reserved. He is responsible and cautious of his own actions due to his ocd, he never wanted to hurt Todd and stayed civil. When he did punch him it was more of a jerk reaction. That being said I do agree that his facial expressions can have some improvement.
not including Simon Pegg or Cameron Crovetti is a crime
I think you should've put the Lenny stuff in the Karl Urban stuff. That was great
I’m fine with Hughie taking to their dad in season one. The point is to show that they have grown, and that they aren’t afraid anymore. They’re become stronger since the beginning of the season and are more in control of their life.
have you watched the show? do you know how the characters act at all?
20:40 if you know what the act8r for a train is like IRL, you’d know why he’s always so bubbly and likeable
antonny deserves an Oscar, Emmy, everything!!!!
YUHHHHH TELL EMMM
Hughie wasn't pleading nor scared maybe because they planned something (kimiko hits a train) and he doesn't wanna show fear as for robins death he needs to stand for her, like he don't wanna show fear on atrain
NEVER let him cook again.
hughie not expressing fear is because he was confident in his plan. dumb point considering the character isn't scared so why should the actor portray fear
im ngl a lot of these actors should be higher. i think chase, jack, erin, and alonso should go up a spot
Someone who cant act judges top level actors. lmao what a joke
exactly what i said, he can’t even speak english correctly
To be honest I’ve always considered Hughie to be the main character of Season 1 as we are introduced to the world and story along with him but after that season I believe that Butcher takes over as the lead. Not just because of the promotional material for the show featuring him a lot but because it starts to centre more around him more since his aim to kill Homelander is still the major plot point of the show whereas Hughie’s vengeance arc for A-Train was somewhat resolved already.
Also I agree with you about Elizabeth’s acting. It was perfect casting imo.
7:03 Can we talk about how the fuck you somehow managed to make the subscribe button have a colored outline right as you were talking about subscribing?
yo ,man your content is so funnny, it makes my day
I love YOU thank u for the love 🤝
Imo the Franchie smile is like this because he is a character that doesn't know how to simile due to all the things he passed through during his life
I wouldn't say that Huey isn't showing great when he's telling his dad to get out, I'd say his fear is making him move less as most of his attention is on whar A-Train might do and the lack of expressiveness is mostly just him doing his best to not be completely frozen with fear, or could show a heightened focus.
1:20 whatever she got done makes it so she can't show happiness as well as she wants it feels like, like in season 4 her facial emotions seem so tight
I saw anthony starr in Banshee he is even better there cause that show is literally all about his sensational acting in a very good plot he is one of the phenomenal actors I ve seen in my lifetime
YESS just made a new vid and i included him in banshee specifically! His range truly improved in THAT show
@@KoshoReviews true
Can you do this with Breaking Bad? I know it's not your type of genre but that''d be an awesome video.
DONT EVEN WORRYY! I have a 5 page doc ready for it 🔥 just tryna finish some vids on the boys since its finale just came out. But if you’d like to give ur input on any specific parts/actors I’d love to hear 🤝
To me Karl Urban belongs in the S-Tier Category
I’d love to see you break down the voice acting in Invincible. I think the entire cast absolutely kills it with the Grayson family being the standouts!
Season 4 episode 4 just solidified Antony Starr as homelander being one of the greatest villains ever written and performed. Give the guy the emmy seriously.
LEGIT JUSR posted a full UA-cam vid on why it’s the BEST EPISODE (besides finales)
How can butchers terrible accent not get addressed, I literally thought he was Australian
7:47 amazing 🦅🦅🦅 acting skills
Just discoved your channel. Love the way you analyze the acting. Super interesting!
Thanks so much 🤝🫶🏽 I rlly try to take unique angles many people may not speak of! Any other shows you’d want a review for?
if Anthony Carr and Karl Urban get anything less than 9 we riot
xDD welp I’ll be seeing ur comment soon 🥰
Guy did jesse dirty hes been phenomenal all seasons. Especially the current oelne u can tell he really regrets everything thats happened.
MeHhhhhhh
YOU FINALLY BLEW UP
WWWWWWWWWW
Kiwi's are amazing subtle actors and deserve Oscars, that's what the Boys prove.
Kiwi’s?? The fruit??
@@KoshoReviews sorry I meant Australians
@@ericacroft13 ur so right, is most of the cast australian?
@@KoshoReviews highlander and butcher (Karl Urban and Anthony Starr) are. they are both amazing with voice changes and small facial movements when acting.
They're both from NZ, not Australia ffs
Was about to start a war with that thumbnail
6 hours a day for a tv show is crazy.
It’s that UA-cam grind 💰🤝
@@KoshoReviews i respect it.
I don't think Stillwell should be up there at all, but ok.. Starlight & Mauve should be on the same level as MM.
BUTCHER IS THE MAIN PROTAGONIST LMAO
You know, the main problem I see with your judgement is that it seems that you have more problems with the directing of the scenes than the acting, but still putting the "blame" on them? It doesn't seem fair to me. You still make some good points, but I feel like you're just being excessively critical for some of this actors
Hmmm thank you for ur input, can u point specific points out? ALWAYS looking to improve, I feel like I was DEFO fair in most, I mainly criticized acting and if the character didn’t report emotion how the SCENE deserved it etc
