Windshield Wiper and Washer Install // Can-Am Defender XT HD8

- I installed several parts in this video and broke the plastic piece on the windshield in the process. Doh! The instructions say 30 minutes when it actually takes about 4 hours if everything goes well.
Like I have said before I will never buy the standard Defender model or XT again. It's definitely worth purchasing the full cab from the factory.

Nice machine looks like a beast with those tracks on!
Great color Defender!! Thanks for taking the time to make this video.
Thanks for sure 😎
excellent video. I love your coat hanger trick!
Great video .. Thanks ! Why did u remove the roof and add the weather strip. My wiper kit did not include anything like that. Install looks simple. How long should I plan ? Thanks 👍
Good question! No need to add the weather strip or roof liner unless you are planning on the full sealed cab.
15:37 you're showing the block terminal in the dash. I'm tearing my 2021 apart right now trying to install this same power cable. I cannot find that block terminal anywhere. I removed the lower dash but nothing. How did you locate the block terminal?
Oh man not sure on the 2021 if you can't see it it's probably relocated.
Did you have any problem with the wiper rocker switch staying lit all the time? Even when the machine is off and such?
No it turns off when everything else does.
Mine stays on as well??
Sounds like a lot of work. Did it turn out well?
Yes except for the plastic on the windshield. I'll never build a cab again better to just buy the cab model.
Where did you get that mount for the harness?
It comes with the front roof liner.
Do you know the part number of the cable you used to go from the dash up to the power block?
Sorry I do not. I sold this machine.
There is actually not glass at the part you drilled through right? Just drilling through the metal/plastic?
Yes correct 👍. Just drilled through the plastic.
Hi there, do you have photos of where both the juntion boxes go and where they connect to. I can seem to find. Its not quite clear to me where the roof harness goes and where the roof power cable gos? Where to both of these junction boxes go?
or do we just use one junction box?
One box. It's been so long I think it's under the roof close to the windshield wiper there's installation diagrams on the Can-Am website.
The power cable needs to be run through the frame of the vehicle to the main box under the dash.
What is the make and model number of wiper kit you used?
It's Can-Am bud.
Where was the power block located? You skipped that part, really would help.
I did? It's in the roof you have to install the kit.
Direction say to drill tiny pilot from inside, then drill large hole from the outside so plastic doesn’t crack… but being outside in the snow probably had that plastic so cold it was going to crack regardless
Yeah warm weather would have been better. Live and learn these things are giant plastic pieces of crap
