- Here is the final part of my God of War playthrough. In this part, Kratos finally takes on Ares using the power of Pandora's Box but has to go through a few trials before the final battle. Hope everyone has enjoyed this playthrough. God of War 2 is next...as soon as I get my PS3 back from repair of the YLOD. :(

I know it’s crazy I remember being a little kid growing up with GOW 3 now we have Ragnarok it’s amazing
I'm so so frustrated because I loved the old God of War titles plus spin-offs and I tried the new ones. I just can't stand the new playstyle and it bothers me because it is one of my all time favorite franchises.

No lie, I would have been satisfied with this being the ending. Kratos' ascension to godhood, and the declaration that warriors, for all time, would now be under Kratos' eternal eye is a good stopping point.
I would not be happy with that.

Kratos had been serving the gods for 10 years, for 10 years he's had thise nightmares, the gods don't rid Kratos' mind of those nightmares, he's made into a god (which is awesome on its own) but he still has those nightmares years ahead. No wonder why Kratos was in such a bad mood in the next two games!

In the end, Zeus and the others brought their own downfall on themselves.
Kratos simply wanted the nightmares to end, even by committing suicide, but what do the gods do? They grant him immortal life, which means infinite torture by his nightmares. The gods had it coming
@@JuliusCaesar103 well I think you forgot one thing the narrator made it clear when kratos was dying from the pillar that was thrown by ares, "even in death the vision will not go away" and the directors also confirmed that death means nothing in that world, he will end up in hades but he will still have to live with the nightmares there.
@@HitmanHimself good point. Athena says in 3 though that Hades cannot keep those with purpose, so maybe if Kratos had no purpose he would be resting...good point man made me think

The best part of all this, GoW 1 ending still relevant in current game, Kratos still be worshiped by many as the God of War from ancient time to the modern age whether he is the destroyer of gods or the savior of mankind.
Man I wish they'd brought her back for the new games, I know a monologue wouldn't of fit the theme but it would've been cool hearing her during the credits giving a speech about Kratos's journey

The ending slides of future wars seems to imply they didn't plan any sequels initially considering what happens at the end of God of War 3.

Really?? its even an easy mode u should look StBill god mode walkhtrough .. he is insane and to get costume in God of War 1 is easy.. u just need to complete the challenge of the gods and again u ll see the walkthrough from stbill

God of War is one of my favorite series on the PS3. Good playthrough man.
This was from the God of War collection which is a remastered port of God of War 1 and 2 running in HD. The graphics are going to look the same as the PS2 game, just a little high res.
13:31 If you wander around this area, you will see a bunch of stairs and a pathway below. This foreshadows Ghost of Sparta where Kratos and Deimos will fight Thanatos. After Deimos dies, Kratos picks him up, walks all the way up and leaves his body to the old man to bury.
Kratos didn't even want to become a god, if the gods had just erased his memory like he asked they would still be alive
Yeah but that whole irrational revenge plot still doesn't hold up too well since it's escalation for escalation's sake after the first game. The first game did a good job on setting up a beginning, middle and end. If the series never went on to become one, then the 1st game would have been satisfying enough to be the legitamite end to God of War.

+bdcool213 wait at the end where you earn athenas blades did you see the giant sword aka blade of the gods all bloody and stuck to the ground down below the cliff you jump off in the cutscene! can you please make a special video where you explore athens and all around the place and the desert to and athens battleground please. i subscribed and like your content. because i have the game but its too hard to beat the temple of pandora so can you make a video exploring athens after killing ares like going down those steps and looking please.

Ares was the easiest boss in the game but the cone part, that was... so... fucking... difficult...
Also, There is no way this is not on easy mode. Do a side-by side on both difficulties with health drop.
Bryan Grim I believe the Ares Armor would make it so that the enemies drop more health orbs.
Try it on the hardest difficulty.

I really enjoyed this game, but must admit that Ares left a bad taste in my mouth. I played the game on Spartan. When I got to the initial form of Ares it took me 45 minutes of dying before I beat him. The following scene took me 20 minutes of dying before beating it. The final form of Ares was basically an insult. You can't block anything, and take mass damage when you try. Not only that but his health bar increases in the process. He has a bunch of special attacks while you have a weak sword. Basically even if you get some decent hits in, he only has to counter with half of what you did and he has regained the health he had. After a half an hour I had enough and had to resort to easy mode having no other option (didn't want to start the fight all over again to just drop it to normal, since the game doesn't give you the option unless reloading). On easy I marched in like a meat head, didn't try to block anything, or evade, and won easily. To have played the whole game on spartan and have to resort to easy for Ares was degrading, and not a good way to end a great game. So yes, he is a cheating bastard in the final battle. I don't know how people do it on God mode.

In the book, Hermes was responsible for informing Athena that Kratos is committing suicide, also Athena didn’t give Kratos the new blades

I got the "Speed of Jason McDonald" trophy for beating the game in under 5 hours. The one that comes after that, "Trophy of Zeus", I got it because I collected all of the trophies in the game.

In Gow Ghost of Sparta Athenas Blades can be Blue and Gold once Leveled Up.
Saving Kratos' family is SO much harder in the original game than it is in this video. You can't let them get touched a single time - they die immediately. Beating this game is a real accomplishment in life, lol.
I don't recall when I recorded this but I think what may have helped me was the armor that I was wearing which is the Ares Armor that I got for completing the Challenge of the Gods. I kinda regret using that armor when I recorded this. I wish I would have done this playthrough without it. Maybe in the future I will do so.

I love how Ares just let Kratos open the box. I also love that dues ex machina sword Kratos picked up at the end
