Crowe sang this so much better than in the movie, it's really a shame no one truly helped him for the movie
I remember that for movie so much was working against the singing in this movie.
@@themanformerlyknownascomme777 Worst idea they had was record the songs like, so actors had to sing and perform the sword fight at the same time. It couldn't have worked
@@mspeter97 indeed. As someone who used to have a hobby in martial arts I can tell you that it demands far more oxygen than you could ever give without sacrificing your voice.

I'm not really one of those who criticize Russell Crowe's singing but god he sounds much better here then in the movie
its far easy to sing stopped, in the movie he singing in a sword fight haha
Yeah, they had to go through that scene about 20 times till they got it right, that’s singing the same thing 20 times in a row while having a sword fight
This is what happens when you don't deprive your actors of water let them hear the music so they don't have to guess the timing and actually give stage direction
I know a UA-cam video which said the same thing!
They could hear the music though. During filming, there was always a live orchestra playing while they were singing.
@@masteryoda4583 no there wasn't. The most they had was ear pieces with piano but even then that's not enough to perfectly sync timing for the entire musical set.
It was a pretty awesome moment. Hugh is amazing.

That movie could have been an hour longer and I wouldn't mind.
This was better for Crowe..the best I've heard him sing it ..but still not my cup of tea , but I see an improvement here.

They had to preform live on set for the movie, that means they had to reshoot and re-sing the entire song about 20 times so the choreography and lyrics were fine, so they were extremely exhausted in the take that made the movie
Also did you not know Hugh Jackson could sing? He’s been on Broadway and a bunch of other musical projects
@@alexclyde6445 That movie was HORRIBLE. If it was up to me, it would have NEVER been released until it was perfect. That movie has taken all the magic and feeling I once held for the musical right out of me. I am just glad I knew its potential and saw great musical productions, otherwise, I would have walked out on that movie and NEVER looked back at L.M. ever again.

Awful... they do hit the notes but it is very far from the original in terms of voice power. Musical movies are not the best idea.
