I have both collections and they are a beauty. Picked them both up at a record show 2 years ago for practically nothing. Great find and for any collection. 😊
Back in the early 1980's these EP Box-Sets were very popular in the european Elvis Collectors Community (and very pricey back than)...Volume 1 & 2 i've won as the first prize on an Elvis Quiz at our local Elvis Presley Fan Club Austria...long long ago🫠 (the Elvis Club is gone, but the EP Box-Sets are still alive in my Collection😉) Congratulations Ed🥳🍾🍸
Just bought this set recently, along with both of the Red vinyl collectibles 45 sets (46 records). I used to have volume two as well and these are some of the nicest around. I’ll be getting the 2nd one as soon as I can.
A quick word of warning. I bought the 2 sets when they came out in the UK. I had them out last year and I noticed some of the records had that misty look that comes from plastic migration. PVC sleeves are a big culprit. I think it may have happened from the plastic sleeves in the folder. I now store these records outside the folder in a separate 45 box. Too little too late, I think the records are ruined, but worth keeping an eye on.
I bought RCX 7188 and 7189 back in '82. Then the rest as they could be sold individually. Then the lady sold me the booklet to complete the set. Volume 2 was released shortly after. Jailhouse Rock, Follow That Dream contain an extra song. Other EPs contain different songs or extra songs. The cat. no. RCX 7188 continued on from Elvis' last '67 UK EP Easy Come, Easy Go (RCX 7187). Spoke to Roger Semon in '82 who said vol. 3 was due, but was never released.
These were mixed by Boppin' Bob Jones in the United Kingdom. He was responsible for some of the most amazing sounding reissues of the early 80's. check for his signature in the trail off wax and be prepared for sonic splendor. Cheers!
There is another box set of EPS that came out called l The International EP collection in a gold coloured box .. Unfortunately the sound quality of all these EP collections is not great just my opinion thou .. Greetings from the UK 🇬🇧
I had both volumes. They are fantastic sets. Great sound quality too.
Just subscribed, today hunting for records I came across Elvis debut album (no jacket)with P.D for a $1.00 and also a copy of “Elvis is back”
