amazing content Scott... I've learned so much from watching your video's. To me, what you are doing on UA-cam is really what UA-cam was meant for. People sharing knowledge and experience to help educate the masses. I can't thank you enough for all of these amazing videos.
Thank you for your videos! I raise and butcher lambs myself and never have any trouble selling them. Of course what I have learned from you is a drop in the bucket to what you know but always trying to learn!
Thanks so much for posting this video! We ordered a whole lamb delivered but didn't realise it would arrive only in primal cuts. I got home from work an hour after this video was posted and realised that I now had an evening of breaking the whole lamb down. Cannot believe my luck that this was posted when it was. Cheers!
I watch here in USA the "bearded butchers" amazing beef bison ect but for UK I get your content lamb, chickens, pork💪🏻 😁🥃 it's all just fascinating to watch. I signed up to be an apprentice but not sure what's guna happen. I'm already a product wrapper. There is alot of waiting and hoops to jump though these days to get the jobs. **price of our lamb 5/31/24 here in Pennsylvania east coast of USA. Lamb leg 6.99 a pound $USA dollars Rib chops 25.99$ a pound Loin roast 15.79$ a pound Shoulder blade chops 10.49$ a pound Ground lamb 9.29$ a pound As some examples.
can't thank you enough for the time you take to do these videos. i've been watching for a few years now and you never fail to inspire. I will have to upgrade my knives and saws in the near future. i've always been envious of how they cut through bones like butter.
Hi Scott, of all these sub-primal's at 4:57, which is the best to slow roast whole for melt of the bone meat? Can you do this with the loin portion? Thank-you
Food morning Scott Great to see another vid my friend, very informative as usual , if a guy can't learn or pickup professional butchery tips from your content he might not be paying close enough attention , just saying lol , cheers from across the pond and a few thousand klicks of dirt , thanks be safe have a great day
When British farmers are getting £130 a lamb for a poor lamb and £150+ for the good lambs, I'm surprised there is still supermarkets selling British lamb
Lamb is very expensive! Anywhere from 12 to 16 euro a kilo for decent lamb in Greece these days. For good lamb I paid 18 euro just this Easter. Ridiculous if you ask me because the money does not go to the farmer but to the middleman. Anyway, now that I have that off of my chest, I always learn something from your videos. Those double lamb chops were a hit at my last barbecue. Just salt and pepper on them while on the fire and some good olive oil and oregano as a baste at the end right before they go to the plate! So thank you Scott for the tip!!!!
Butchers or Meat Saw, available on Amazon or most online knife sellers, Walmart, TSC etc... Usually available in 2 sizes (16" and 22") unless you are butchering cows, the 16" is all you need ;)
i love breast of lamb but i wont buy it now because of the price, its crazy, they have done the same with belly pork, the are asking more for it than chops, the world has gone crazy
@@rad68 Those were the days! Real butchers are becoming rare these days. My uncle used to be a butcher and I remember seeing him in his striped apron having whole animal carcasses in the walk in and game hanging when in season Good times😊.
@@kevowskiit’s gotta stupid here in the us too but I just buy them whole off of people I know who raise them for like 120 a lamb with no gov involved at all

The price of lamb is a piss-take at the moment. Should have stocked up with the Easter deals, now I know how to bone out a leg of lamb. Cheers Scott

You dont get those kind of legs of lamb in the supermarket
Great work Scott.
Definitely beats grinding lips and aresholes, that’s for sure! Awesome video
Nice I have the same yellow handle Victorinox boning knife. From an 🇮🇪 in 🇦🇺
Love this channel. I've made loads of home cured bacon and corned beef thanks to you. I just wondered though have you ever done a wet cure bacon?

Ahhh.... Breast of Lamb ! ;)
Can only buy lamb when it’s on offer the price is ridiculous. Thanks for the video Scott.
Yeah because with the supermarkets they trim everything off the legs so they can get a few extra grams for making lamb mince
Like this Video
And i bet the farmers get a pittance of pay frim the supermarket
A good deal of cost happens between the farm and the meat counter. Farmers aren't raising lamb for a pittance. They know how to make money.
I remember my mom paying seven & six fro a breast o lamb, I also remember licking my fingers clean :)
having left over leg with mash and gravy...i can taste that through the screen

The only place I can find lamb breast is Sainsbury’s and it’s about £7.50 per kg 😳
Lamb mince is also stupidly expensive nowadays 🙄
I'm a 🇬🇧 3rd gen Butcher and totally agree with you, I can remember selling lamb at 69p per lb going back few yrs 😅
