Hvala vam puno prijatelji moji! Only 2 days and this video hit 10K views, that's fast! I would like to address a few thing things in the video: Let me address a few things: -For End Credits: I forgot Hummie Mann, for Magic Railroad, Mike O’Donnel & Junior Campbell for original compositions, and Road Redemption. In my defesnse for Road Redemption however I could not find who the composer was so it was not a matter of forgetting (pretty weird though). Number 9: There’s a bit of criticism towards my pitch for The Adventure Begins 2 which as I explained “NOT from the mindset of a fan but rather a businessman”. It’s not like Mattel fully respects Thomas & Friends so I thought it would fun to think about how they would have made the sequel and likely butchering it. -Number 5: I know I said no “BTS shenanigans” even though I talked about a modified script. It was more to specific points rather within. As in, this chapter is about Oliver in general not just behind the scenes. -Number 3: Upon consideration when I said “Escape was better in the show” the big difference I realized from the original story vs TV is the TV adaption decanonises BoCo’s brother, unless that was him in Rusty to the Rescue lol. -Number 2: This one I didn’t really explain how BWBA could have been better which was the idea of the whole video, it was more about my personal takes on the era as I don’t think BWBA is as bad as some fans make it out to be. This was more cut for time as I would have to do extensive research into what Railway stories around the world were suitable for Thomas. One story I found was passengers would throw their newspapers at foreigners working on the tracks and that’s how they learned to speak English. Pretty funny. Some people were not happy how I brought up Detrans Awareness which I must ask: Is it wrong for people to be seeking help? That’s what they are about. If people are allowed to transition, why do they have to be locked into their new identity? Why are they not allowed to come back to their biological identity? I encourage everyone to look into their website but be warned for there are some highly disturbing stories and potential imagery. And finally to the couple of people who claimed I was being misogynistic: You are going to love my next Thomas Topic ;)
The missed opportunities I find are: 1. Oliver being the main character in Journey Beyond Sodor. 2. Bigger British Steam Tender (mostly GWR) and Diesel Engines. 3. Female narrow gauge engines. 4. More Famous Visiting Mainland Engines like Stepney, Olton Hall aka Hogwarts Castle (I like to call her: Esmeralda), City of Truro, Mallard (Mallard can be a girl’s name too). 5. Movies focusing on the Sodor Search & Rescue Centre and the rivalry of Rails vs Roads. 6. Ghost stories that are taken more serious.
A missed opportunity I have always thought of is a Hank and Connor story, Hank, a PRR K4 and Conner a NYC J3A, the NYC and PRR were major rivals in the US, so it would lead to interesting stories.
A massive missed opportunity was utilizing Oliver to the best they could ever do so. That and also not being able to rework his model to his proper tall heights.
I think a big missed opportunity was reworking some of the hit era newbies into stories where our main characters are out character such as Neville instead of Toby, Molly instead of Edward, Mighty Mac instead of Skarloey and Rheneas etc. if they want to use those types of stories use your new characters you introduced for them instead of reinventing the old pre established characters
There are many missed opportunities with Luke too. There are some things I thought of that could have been done with him: * An episode about St. Patrick’s Day with Luke as the lead character. * An episode about him substituting for Victor at the Steamworks (Kind of like Steamy Sodor, but it can be done a lot better). * An episode in which he and the other narrow gauge engines have to work with Diesel at the Blue Mountain Quarry. What do you all think?
It’s a shame there are so many unused concepts & characters that hasn’t been utilized in the show yet, and probably won’t for a long time. But it’s not impossible!
Another thing they could've done with Oliver is the fact that he's the fastest tank engine in the show and it could've been a story where he chases up a runuway train or something
I dunno, with lines like "There's nothing you need to rearrange", "There's nothing else you can possibly do" does not really support that direction sorry 🤷
Perhaps “it’s plain to me you are trying to hard, so instead just be who you are” could be interpreted as someone trying to fit in to traditional gender norms such as clothing, hair, voice, etc, even though that’s not what their gender identity is. Transitioning to their gender identity could then also mean they are being who they are.
You really think being an Australian I would pardon arson attacks? But yes and note to self: Anyone or any company who promotes representation over the story they are producing, you know its going to be crap I.E BWBA, The Marvels, Acolyte, 2016 Ghostbusters, the recent Dr.Who, it has been happing so much general audiences have caught on and why so many of these productions are flopping. I would like to see some Croatian representation but not in a derogatory portrayal.
@@dadocta5168 it's that whenever there's cumulative record heat from climate change and record wildfires including the desolation of the normally too-wet blue gum forests a few years ago, the false narratives coming out of SkyNews or GBN about eco warrior arsonists or gender reveal parties always gets mass produced. Anyways! I tend to see your misgrievences. Much like the yank Vulgarisation that Awdry warned about which damaged TTTE as a brand, that's very much what happened to every other example you mentioned. Calculated cash ins which is simply the reality of greedily chasing fleeting profit margins against the cost of inflation; but give up about the DEI, CRT, PC, Woke or Cultural Marxism bullshite...
It hurts when you realise how many episodes/seasons are wasted. This idea to aim towards younger kids would obviously age poorly because kids grow up and become smarter.
Great video about the missed opportunities. There are some things that could've been even added more potential based on what you said: 10. Having Gordon paired up with his special blue coaches would've been so cool to see for the remainder of the show. I mean, we saw how Thomas, Toby, Duck, Oliver and Emily each have their own coaches, so why not the main line trio? 9. Wong Village has done a sort of fan-sequel to TAB some years ago (almost the same way). 8. Seeing more old/new interactions like Elizabeth and Winston would be a treat to watch. Bill, Ben & Hector could make a potential sequel to Hector the Horrid (same thing w/ Rosie as BlueTraxDak did a fan-episode with them together). There is one dynamic that could be explored in my opinion - those being Rebecca and D199 since they share the same nickname 'Spamcan' or Gordon and Hank as the PRR K4s were the inspiration for the LNER A1s and A3s. Or better yet, an showdown between Bradford and the Spiteful Brakevan as they are different polar opposites. 7. I love that ideal character arc for Sir Handel and having him be rude to Annie & Clarabel since they are four-wheeled coaches is something given his past history and distaste for them would implied that even further until the climax where he realizes his errors too late before being sent away. However, my ideal arc for the little blue engine would've been if he had Duncan and Skarloey's roles in Trusty Rusty and The Grand Opening as he would've had to earn STH's trust after causing one major misstep and coming out on top (had they waited till two years after S6 where they have the budget to build a large scale model of Sir Handel). 6. Come to think of the Anti-Rail League, there is something I wish was brought up again more often: the Road vs. Rail rivalry. I am sick and tired of having too many stories on steam vs. diesels in the current seasons. The roads pose a much bigger threat to the railways, especially since branch lines were closed in the UK during the Beeching Axe, and US passenger traffic was taken away b/c of highways and air travel. This rivalry could've been made into a climatic movie where a human villain who despises railways wants to build highways over Sodor and overthrow STH and his engines, with Bulgy, George and the Horrid Lorries as his agreeable sidekicks. Title-wise, I'd call it either 'Rage/Rise of the Road(ways)'. 5. Oliver was present at the firework display in Scaredy Engines, so I don't know if this might work (and we already have Oliver's Sparkler from the Annuals). I believe that if Bradford the Brake Van were to have a different second main character instead of Thomas, it'd be Oliver. Maybe Toad is away being mended and Oliver having to work w/ Bradford - only for the brake van's strict regulations cause him to be delayed and gets into a fiery argument which leads to trouble. 4. I'm not sure how this would've worked out though. Seeing HiT era Emily and Duck (if the latter still appears as a now side character) would've bantered about which way is best. I think having Duck in Murdoch's place would've been great. 3. I would've love to see a few more RWS stories adapted, but also maybe a few more Annual stories b/c they have unique potentials for the screen other than Thomas & Trevor. 2. Rebecca is my favorite part of BWBA (being my 3rd favorite and underrated character). Though I think part of her getting more stories being slim is b/c half of the Sodor and International episodes are 13 each, meaning this is very limited to their full potential. Gordon & Rebecca Coming Through is my favorite cause I stan for Gordon & Rebecca's close friendship (especially cause Oliver Bulleid used to be an apprentice to Sir Nigel Gresley). It was also my love for Rebecca that made me write her more in Great Sodor Engines (though I'm careful to make her a supporting character so as to give other characters a chance to shine). I am planning to expand on Rebecca by having her limits pushed where she gets angry and having family issues which is untapped potential. 1. The Great Race is what I used to be super hyped for as a naive fan - only after a few years later on my latest rewatch I was left disappointed with some potential good moments I liked. I agree that Gordon should've been the main character and if Rebecca was introduced prior to this if the movie was set at a later year, then this would've developed her and Gordon's relationship further. Also, another idea would be if The Great Race was a mini-series instead of being crammed as a movie, then we would've had all the elements flow naturally (like Sodor the Magic Within).
bro used a Thomas video to spread anti trans messages and is getting absolutely roasted in the replies lmao. Telling people to “look up the fact that so many people regret transitioning” why don’t you cite your sources lil bro? 🤔
1. Those people are allergic to sources apparently. 2. The song at the end is "Be who you are" it's literally in the movie. 3. Roastings only work if it doesn't backfire 😎
I think the idea was to make the Steam Team as colourful as possible but then begs the question: Why even repaint Rosie to look like James? I do agree if they needed more female engines Rosie would have been a great choice.
Bradford always reminded me of Bluenose from TUGS, only Bradford is more tolerable. I definitely think Oliver being afraid of fireworks because of his trauma from the scrapyards makes better sense than Samson. I have some missed opportunities that could've been done. 1. Oliver and Stepney bonding over their experience after almost being scrapped. 2. Gordon's blue coaches being given faces and names. Gordon's relationship with the two could be a similar bond to how Thomas has with Annie and Clarabel - that is to say, they keep him in check and comfort him when he is low. 3. Big World! Big Adventures! could've simply was simply a way to make the title more interesting and a nod to Thomas saying "I want to see the world!". Its not actually about Thomas going all over the world. 4. The grumpy passenger from S18 turning out to be Jeremiah Jobling from James and the Bootlace. Yeah.....he's still pissed about that. 5. Emily's coaches being given faces, names and personality. 6. BoCo re-appearing in S21.
Although the idea of Thomas visiting a few countries does seem rather interesting to me. It could have been fun if it was just for one movie and season instead of half the show moving forward.
While I can agree with alot of the criticism,I will always find a man complaining about female or diverse characters existing cringy. Edit: Then I got hit with the transphobic stuff at the end and yeah. I see what they mean now about Thomas fans. I'll go back to enjoying the show away from you weirdos.
Unfortunately a lot of ttte UA-cam and twitter is........ like that...... It's pretty chill on tumblr though I can certainly agree with you, I think fans focus way too hard on hating the characters rather than the corporations and their poor decisions which are more in line with Their thinking rather than actually being socially conscious, being "woke" (a word that is misused constantly) is a whole marketable thing that those of us who do actually care about diversity and equality do not buy into bc the corporate version of it is so..... gross....... But turning it around to be like "this is the fault of these characters" (who aren't real) and "this is why "wokeness" ruins everything!" like jeez.... look who's been in a coma since 2016 and didn't get the memo that it isn't cool nor edgy to be "anti sjw" anymore... speaking as someone who Was and looks back on it with embarrassment 😭
Personally i would write of henry with super rescue and introduce rebecca with a 22 minute long special like they do somethimes, i would make rebecca have a crash in her first day, then being sent to vicarstown were she meets henry, then pull the express and get stuck on the hill, putting her in a bad situation, but then she would be pulling a heavy goods train to cover for henry cause of his safety valve in super rescue (the two event happen near close to each other) then she sees gordon broken down with the express, and thinking of the story henry told her about the events in super rescue, she rescues the train and pushes gordon, the express, and her own train by herself to vicarstown, were she sees henry smiling prowdly to her, concluding her character arc. That's a pretty good take on rebecca i think
It seems odd to specifically point out gender reassignment surgeries as something someone might regret. You could get a nose job and end up regretting it.
I really dont appreciate you trying to slip in very closed minded and bigoted views on what YOU think Thomas should be, mate. Especially when theres impressionable children and teens who def watch this kinda content. The audience isnt stupid to this kind of stuff, the world is divided enough as is.
@@dadocta5168the only one who needs help is you, mate. Trans people barely even get healthcare in the first place, and you wanna help the ones that DONT wanna be trans anymore?
@@dadocta5168 Well, like you said, the best way to know a character is to see how he reacts with others. So since Duck took a dislike to Diesel and was sus about him...
@@jalyntate7965 Okay maybe I fumbled the transition because I ended up cutting out "Molly for example wouldn't behave any differently from Thomas or James" for the sake of matching up with the music. However, does this make me a misandrist because of Emily acting "sus" towards the males?
So many missed opportunities that many of us never even thought about. This is such a great video! You did an incredible job coming up with many great ideas that should’ve been in the actual show.
Lots of missed opportunities they could have done is return more old faces like Duke, Caroline and BoCo, old locations return like Elsbridge, Great Waterton and the Skarloey Railway Sheds, create new character interactions in CGI like Duke and Luke, Rebecca, Nia, Spencer and Hiro, Daisy and Dennis, Paxton and 'Arry and Bert, Hiro, Donald and Douglas, Sonny and Skiff, George and Bulgy, Spencer and Flying Scotsman, have Diesel 10 appears more in CGI and have his evil villainy fully restored as his true character, Thomas, Percy and Toby return to Ffarquhar Sheds to sleep there full time, old character interactions shown again like Percy and Toby's friendship, Thomas and Gordon's alliance and Duck and Diesel's rivalry in CGI, bring back other sides of characters in CGI like Henry's love for nature, Duck's fascination with the sea, Toby's chaotic neutral side and witty sense of humour, Donald and Douglas' individual characters and 'Arry and Bert's grim scrapping traits, have other engines sleep at Tidmouth Sheds besides The Steam Team often, playing with tone like dark, serious and mature once again, expanding on the Hit era characters, Patrick, Nelson and Byron to flesh out their personalities, do more with them and make them better, have Henry's old shape be recreated in CGI with Series 1 flashbacks, more references and flashbacks to classic episodes like Tender Engines including Flying Scotsman's full inclusion from the RWS version, have the Logging Locos interact with other characters and gain more development while having their quirks tolerable, have Norman get a spotlight role and expand his character better, Sir Lowham Hatt appears more as the comedic Hatt and interact with Dowager Hatt, have one CGI season in cinematic style like Series 5 and a episode focusing on Stephen and Bridget to give them time in the spotlight. What do you think, Da Docta?
Wow that's a lot of thought, but may I suggest better punctuation like full stops? The Logging Locos were a mistake to be honest; Misty Island is so conceptionally broken it is incompatible with the franchise. Nothing redeeming to them. I see why Sonny & Skiff would be an interesting pairing: Both characters were used by evil men but they're both happy where they are so kinda don't see much point. This is where Oliver returning the favour to Douglas would help distinguish Donald & Douglas as individual characters. I guess I did address that critique other fans have. Thanks for the comment ♥
@@dadocta5168 Sorry. Apart from learning to be Really Useful. Also, people could try to fix things and make the Locos more likable and better in the show or fan content if given the chance. Could you imagine what the Locos would've been like if they appear in the Brenner era with good writing? You never know til you try. You're welcome.
Fans wanted S.C. Ruffey and Old Slow Coach to return to appear more in the show for more stories and there's nothing wrong with it. They deserve to appear more in my opinion as well as everyone else. At least you understand that perfectly regardless since most saw potential in that. As for Sir Handel, he could still have his Series 4 traits despite mostly matured that are more tolerable than before to show that he's still himself. According to Ian McCue, Henry was originally meant to remain in Tidmouth Sheds alongside Rebecca.
@@dylanlyles9453 I probably forgot. Well yeah, the magic and Shining Time stuff definitely doesn’t fit in Thomas, regardless of how hard Britt tried to make it work.
You've now inspired my with all these ideas lol, but anyways, here are some missed opportunities I found. • Harvey could have had Edward's Role in Edward Strikes Out. • Ivo Hugh could have been introduced in The Old Bridge. • Billy could have had Thomas' role in Wonky Whistle
Thank you and I like that first one! Someone did do a remake of Edward Strikes Out with more focus on Harvey and it was much better. Try look it up (I forget what it was called).
Out of all the things said, out of that whole 45 minute long video essay I still can't wrap my head around the fact that in not one but two separate occasions I've heard butchered croatian for no apparent reason. It just...sorta happened I guess.
I spoke with my grandfather who is Croatian and worked on my pronounciatian with those lines and check if they were grammatically correct. Someone else said I botched the language but then said it's my accent.
That is a great video and I agree with most of them while disagree with some things. I too am going to bring those missed opportunities to life in my Thomas stories to make up for it.
In my opinion, here's a missed opportunity that not only would give a reason to why Emily is on the island, despite the fact that her basis was mostly scrapped, saved for the very first one, but it would also give Donald his own time to shine: How did Emily get to Sodor. This is something that I want to try and make, especially since I've slowly gotten back into Thomas and Friends, and I did recently make the first story to my own headcanon universe of Thomas and Friends. (Also, I do realize that this might sound a little similar to Oliver's arrival to Sodor, but I always have wondered how Emily got to the island and escaping from being turned into scrap probably is one of the better reasons an engine gets to Sodor.) Basically, while helping James with a goods train, Donald realizes that he has nothing special to his time on Sodor, and James soon comes up with the idea that Donald should go to Barrow Yard to try and find another engine that's soon to be under the cutting torch. With some convincing to Sir Topham Hatt, Donald soon heads into Barrow Yard and finds Emily. The once proud Stirling Single engine is covered under a tarp, and her once bright green livery had been covered in a layer of rust. Donald, determined to get Emily to Sodor, tells his driver to couple her up to him, while his fireman puts chalk markings on her to fool the guard watching the yard. By sunrise, Donald made it back to Sodor with Emily, a smile on both of their faces, and Sir Topham Hatt restores Emily to her former glory, along with giving her an emerald green livery that she proudly enjoys. A couple of other missed opportunities that I think could have been interesting are more Emily and Henry dynamics, and, if there can be good diesels, surely there has to be bad steam engines in the world.
Personally I'm glad they had Samson scared of fireworks. It doesn't work for Oliver even if you say it reminds him of scrap but I don't like that honestly and it makes Bradford show his softer side.
I agree the show really suffered after changing hands and I like your suggestions for most of these points especially The Great Race I couldn’t stand how toxic sibling relationships became especially Gordon and FSM…and to me that whole BWBA traveling side should have been handled differently If I were to do the series I would have made TGR about Gordon and the actual race…then after the Royal Engine the queen would have invited Thomas to join the International Railway Show with engines from around the world both new and returning…after that Thomas gets permission to leave early so he can finally see the world…along his journey he meets many different kinds of engines who show Thomas how they work…like the suspended railway in Germany…rather than going against Audrey’s wishes of not talking down to kids we could have gotten great stories that take viewers around the world With this idea we could even connect back to Sodor and past arcs like if Hiro returns home Thomas can reconnect with him in Japan and now Hiro can show him around…same for Victor…Thomas visiting Columbia and meeting Victor’s old friends who still remember him would be a great nod to an underused CGI character and an opportunity to mention one of the best movies Blue Mountain Mystery…heck that aspect was wasted potential since we never get more about Victor’s backstory or home after the movie and only see Luke in 2 episodes Regarding The Adventure Behins someone actually created The Adventure Continues as a continuation…if I could create videos I would so use this approach to try and find that middle ground between the books and series…not a fan of including Gordon retiring HOWEVER Pip and Emma being brought in to help Gordon and him being more mature about letting diesels pull his express would still work IMHO…especially if your idea of keeping those coaches happened…each engine would have their own coaches so James or Henry could still fill in so Pip and Emma wouldn’t be going solo and taking over completely I have a number of ideas like this which help bridge those gaps and help add to the characters…at the end of the day Audrey and his son more or less knew what they were writing and Hit and Mattel never took the time to read nor watch the originals be it the UK or US versions…this is how characters got misdefined and their focus on young children lead to the show getting watered down despite Audrey’s wishes…I mean look at how MLP was handled…the final season was just fan service and the very last episode a lazy regurgitation of a season 1 or 2 episode that made ZERO sense…doesn’t surprise me in the least the show went from classic to a blend of Dora Blues Clues and Dr Seus to a jumble of repetitive nonsense that may have ended on a heartwarming note but would be forever ruined and rebooted into a 2D Cuggington style reboot of a beloved franchise
WHY WOULD YOU SPREAD ANTI WOMEN AND ANTI TRANS PROPAGANDA IN A VIDEO TALKING ABOUT TALKING TRAINS?!?! I’M GETTING SICK AND FUCKING TIRED OF THIS BULLSHIT
@@PercytheSaddleTank Oo I might have t check it out. I see there is mention of the Talyllyn Railway but then why is Bulgy on the standard guage railway?
I at least agree to a lot of them, but as for this part: 13:57- 14:2435:36-35:54 Put it simply why it's happening is because of a lack of trust and the other is because they thinking giving every fan what they want would equal to pandering to their entitled egos. It's their property first before everyone else's. Since they are not public domain stories like fairytales. myths, or classic literature. All they want is just total control.
I still Liked The Great Race! But I Agree that it should have been Called The Great Railway Show instead and Gordon should have been the Main Character instead of Thomas.
You're probably gonna think I'm crazy for this , but hear me out , have a story that takes place in the 21st century where all the engines on Sodor have been put out of service by newer high tech locomotives (both steam and diesel , And electric too I guess) , then that way , you can work aeg into the timeline by exploring a story about automatic engines
That depends on how the scenario works, are the steam and diesel engines merely out of commission, such as being placed in a museum? Is it that they are "out of service", simply on Sir Topham Hatt's railway, and put on a heritage railway?, or are they scrapped? Because that's a scenario I've thought about, but express issue with, because, from the perspective of a child, seeing their favorite character be put out of commission, could be upsetting, and could make steam look obsolete, as in, no steam engines run ever, anywhere, when that is not the case.
Missed opportunity adapted the rest of the rws 😂and development of expanding and using characters outside of the steam team. When it switched to the main 8, the characters started to feel so overused that they are boring especially Thomas
I'm glad Duck and Emily weren't rivals. It's an Absolute GARBAGE idea. Same as HiT Era Emily. Now Duck and Thomas, that's better. Also, why do you care that much about D5701? He was just some random diesel in an illustration. They could have put any other 'Other Railway' diesel instead of D5701.
I will never get why people care so much about such obscure characters like 87546, 98462 and this guy. And also, Thomas and Duck would more likely have a friendly rivalry because they are confirmed to be friends.
@@joshuaW5621 They aren't really. They're frenemies. If they are friends, they don't really see eye to eye. Also, yeah like, why do people care about one-offs from the RWS that Awdry didn't even write anything about. (In this case, 98462 and 87546 are acknowledged, so they are characters that matter a tiny bit)
@@joshuaW5621the reason why we care so much is that they have potential and could open up a lot more story potential and the fact that they are so obscure means we can do whatever we want with them so it makes them so interesting.
@@akintolashekoni4600 that does make them interesting, I think my problem is that with someone like 98462 they’ve been ruined by kids treating peoples headcanons of them as fact, ie people who think Alfred is canon.
Thank you. It is companies that push DEI elements so I tried to explain how Mattel would handle stuff like TAB 2 and Duck being refered to Alice (Which is in reference to Edward during S3's production). Weird how some people we not happy about raising awareness for Detrans Awareness which is a group of people sharing stories of former trans people coming to regret transitioning. As if people seeking help is a bad thing :/
@@dadocta5168while those peoples voices deserve to be heard A) the way to do it is NOT in a thomas the fucking tank engine video and B) it comes across as if you are actively discouraging people from exploring their identities in the first place.
@@oscarknight3588 I'm glad you agree these people should be heard but 1. What is the message of The Great Race if not that? Thomas has a knack for spelling out its morals at the end and here they sing "Be who you are" 2. The way people go about trans people is based on feelings. When you think about it: Age is no different. How many people have you heard "I don't feel like an adult" so by this logic they are not adults. Same goes for hair loss, size, ethnicity, biology is not a choice. There is a saying "people prefer comforting lies over harsh truths" and these days it should be taken to heart.
You know what the biggest missed opportunity for me is? Not bringing back the sister show TUGS. That show had a lot going for it, so much show that David Mitton already had two more series written up for it. The other is instead of Thomas travelling the world, it's engine from different countries travelling to sodor and introducing the local engines a bit of their culture, why should one tank engine get all this when there could be others that would feel more connected to them.
I think generally speaking people have accepted Magic Railroad did have heart & effort, but it is incompatible with what the source material was about.
TGR could have also had nations bring an engine to each of the events. For instance, the US could've had Vinnie or Sam in strength; one of Connor's J3A brothers in the race; and an S060 like Rosie for the shunt; and a new S1 6-4-4-6 for the fashion show. Sodor had this already - Gordon in the race, Emily and James in the fashion, Thomas in the shunt, and Henry in the haul. Just skip all the Thomas trope bs of the movie's first half. Maybe Sir Topham Hatt gathers the engines at Knapford to announce which engines he's selecting, and keep the international engines a surprise until we get to the venue.
I do like some of your ideas, though I will say some of your comments over the transphobia argument are a bit off putting. Which is not something I expected to say on a video about Thomas of all places.
It's a shame some people thought of it that way, because former trans people do not get talked about as often as they should. I have seen horror stories what they have been through and I wanted to address their bravery in some way. The fact some people have a problem with people seeking help is rather disconcerting.
If we did get an adventure begins 2, they would have adapted most of the stories from the next three books of the railway series. It can still be incoherent as season two was. But it could still manage to tell a cohesive narrative.
Well here’s how I think the story order would have been. 1. James and The Top Hat 2. James and The Bootlace 3. Thomas and The Guard 4. Troublesome Trucks 5. Thomas Goes Fishing 6. James and The Express 7. Tenders and Turntables 8. Trouble in the Shed 9. Percy Runs Away
Yeah that was really weird 😳 if anything the "be yourself and don't change for others" message is PRO trans.... Very weird thing to just drop out of nowhere
That was such a terrible take. The message the song is sending to the audience is obviously not about body modification (Something the target audience wouldn't even know about) it's saying be who you are even if you and others think little of yourself. It's a very pro trans/autistic/disabled message. I was 13 when that song came out and it really helped me accept myself as trans.
It's funny & sad how others like Thomas Theorist are also coming to realise The Great Race was the first signs of BWBA and subsequently All Engines Go. We thought we were in the clear come season 20 but oh boy...
Oliver and the fireworks was actually remade made by Ilovetrains323 for his series And Oliver has fan stories about his prejudice with diesels One is with Norman of all characters Not trying to be A Know-it-all, Just commenting for the people who you didn't know
I did see one with Oliver & Hector, but doesn't that show the studios (Not trying to sound rude) the one who everybody pays attention to be responsible for doing what they should have done?
I dont agree that TATMR was a mistake because I loved it when I was younger and I still do now (at 16) and I don't understand why people hate on it so much
One missed opportunity I have is what if Saving Edward take place before the series began before Edward was old and wise and was more middle aged where instead he takes on bad coal and wants Thomas to do all his work so Thomas does and Sir Topham Hatt gets mad and Thomas tells him Edward took on bad coal so then Topham went to see Edward and he told him the truth about what happened with his wheezing and Topham sent him to the works and this would take place a year or two before Edward gets retired to the shed.
@@dadocta5168Sorry if I offended you, It is just accent... But I can't blame you, I am glad you chose Croatian, it is really funny joke! Trust me, you would not understand my English if I would speak it!
IMO Arthur had a lot of missed potential I always thought arthur shouldve been the new engine on the harwick branch instead of Ryan in legend of the lost treasure, arthur has always been a character associated with the coast, hes a much more visually different, bigger and more modern than Thomas, they couldve tied in thomas ruining his spotless record as a misdirection for him being the main villain instead of sailor john
@dadocta5168 OK there are several things I wanted to address with this, isn't D5701 just some random background character why does Oliver need to have an arc with him? Would you care to elaborate how Arthur could add something to Porter's character? I don't really think bulgy's Friend was ever intended to be this pivotal character in Thomas, he was just a character to fill the background. I don't think Emily and Duck have a rivalry with each other, I think you're overthinking Emily's role in Duck and the slip coaches, it was supposed to be a joke not the start of a character arc between the two, And what the Fuck with the random Transphobia and misogyny?
Geez ate you are asking a lot: 1. The fact BoCo has a brother opens up a dozen possibilities. Oliver being one of them; Did they ever specify which Diesel caught him? 2. They have similar characteristics both being seaside engines. Porter could probably be sent to Arthur's branchline as I don't recall seeing him anywhere beyond Brendam. 3. Wilbert didn't need to write the mysterious friend as a part of Bulgy's league but he did, and the fact nothing comes from it is as I explained: A plot hole. 4. Why repeat the same joke twice? Emily started off sad, but then she became angry. It was like setting her up as the next antagonist. 5. If Transphobia & mysogony stuff is about Duck, that's in reference to Season 3's production when there were plans to change Edward to Alice. True story.
@@dadocta5168 I think I can elaborate on point number 5- the joke about Duck being renamed to Alice may have been fine in isolation, but it comes immediately after a "joke" about Disney experiencing financial trouble after putting DEI measurements in place. The implication here is that Disney are losing money as a result of becoming more diverse. In reality it's probably because a lot of Disney's recent film output is bland corporate trash that nobody wants to watch. Also, whilst I'm not accusing you of having this opinion, a lot of people use this argument to put forward the theory of "corporations are losing money after becoming more diverse, therefore they can't possibly be doing it to make money, therefore they must be doing it to push the Woke Agenda™!" Again, I'm not suggesting that this was your intention, but it's something to be mindful of. There's also the comment mentioned in the Great Race section about detransitioning. I don't want to seem like I'm invalidating the experience of people who detransition, of course, but the film's moral of "don't try to be someone you're not, just be yourself" could apply to many different groups, not least the far larger number of trans people who _do_ feel happier and more comfortable after transitioning. (This is, of course, assuming that you yourself haven't detransitioned. If you have then it makes sense to draw from personal experience)
No I was referring to 43:13, I don't know what you were told in your church on Sunday But I honestly think most of These so called missed opportunities Are just you overthinking And let me guess you're 1 of the people who said Disney ruined star wars by adding gasp A female character in the lead. Hvala vam puno prijatelji moji! Only 2 days and this video hit 10K views, that's fast!
I would like to address a few thing things in the video:
Let me address a few things:
-For End Credits: I forgot Hummie Mann, for Magic Railroad, Mike O’Donnel & Junior Campbell for original compositions, and Road Redemption.
@@dadocta5168 the question still remains. Why did you speak croatian without any reason?

The missed opportunities I find are:
Isn't Millie a Narrow Guage Engine? She got quite a bit of screen time.

Yeah, otherwise, it just feels like they're only there for merchandise, not because they're actual characters.
There are many missed opportunities with Luke too. There are some things I thought of that could have been done with him:
* An episode about St.
What a genius idea: St.Patrick's Day?? Can not believe BWBA didn't do something as fantastical as that!
It’s a shame there are so many unused concepts & characters that hasn’t been utilized in the show yet, and probably won’t for a long time. But it’s not impossible!
If we can get X-Men 97 maybe we can get Thomas the Classic Engine lol.
@@dadocta5168 I like the sound of that.
Another thing they could've done with Oliver is the fact that he's the fastest tank engine in the show and it could've been a story where he chases up a runuway train or something

Yes
I dunno, with lines like "There's nothing you need to rearrange", "There's nothing else you can possibly do" does not really support that direction sorry 🤷
Perhaps “it’s plain to me you are trying to hard, so instead just be who you are” could be interpreted as someone trying to fit in to traditional gender norms such as clothing, hair, voice, etc, even though that’s not what their gender identity is. @@dadocta5168 honestly they could've brought back characters and really fleshed them out what they did with Daisy shows
Great video about the missed opportunities. There are some things that could've been even added more potential based on what you said:
Agreed

And Philip.
Bradford also has a kinder side in Samson and the Fireworks while Bluenose doesn't.

I can certainly agree with you, I think fans focus way too hard on hating the characters rather than the corporations and their poor decisions which are more in line with Their thinking rather than actually being socially conscious, being "woke" (a word that is misused constantly) is a whole marketable thing that those of us who do actually care about diversity and equality do not buy into bc the corporate version of it is so..... gross.......

Couldn’t you consider legend of the lost treasure a sort on unofficial sequel to the adventure begins
In what ways? Pretty funny to go from Thomas receiving his own branchline to suddenly taken away from him.
(Also, I do realize that this might sound a little similar to Oliver's arrival to Sodor, but I always have wondered how Emily got to the island and escaping from being turned into scrap probably is one of the better reasons an engine gets to Sodor.)
Basically, while helping James with a goods train, Donald realizes that he has nothing special to his time on Sodor, and James soon comes up with the idea that Donald should go to Barrow Yard to try and find another engine that's soon to be under the cutting torch.
What I think was a big missed opportunity was a good Duck & Diesel episode with "Emily and the Special Coaches".

If I were to do the series I would have made TGR about Gordon and the actual race…then after the Royal Engine the queen would have invited Thomas to join the International Railway Show with engines from around the world both new and returning…after that Thomas gets permission to leave early so he can finally see the world…along his journey he meets many different kinds of engines who show Thomas how they work…like the suspended railway in Germany…rather than going against Audrey’s wishes of not talking down to kids we could have gotten great stories that take viewers around the world
With this idea we could even connect back to Sodor and past arcs like if Hiro returns home Thomas can reconnect with him in Japan and now Hiro can show him around…same for Victor…Thomas visiting Columbia and meeting Victor’s old friends who still remember him would be a great nod to an underused CGI character and an opportunity to mention one of the best movies Blue Mountain Mystery…heck that aspect was wasted potential since we never get more about Victor’s backstory or home after the movie and only see Luke in 2 episodes
Regarding The Adventure Behins someone actually created The Adventure Continues as a continuation…if I could create videos I would so use this approach to try and find that middle ground between the books and series…not a fan of including Gordon retiring HOWEVER Pip and Emma being brought in to help Gordon and him being more mature about letting diesels pull his express would still work IMHO…especially if your idea of keeping those coaches happened…each engine would have their own coaches so James or Henry could still fill in so Pip and Emma wouldn’t be going solo and taking over completely
I have a number of ideas like this which help bridge those gaps and help add to the characters…at the end of the day Audrey and his son more or less knew what they were writing and Hit and Mattel never took the time to read nor watch the originals be it the UK or US versions…this is how characters got misdefined and their focus on young children lead to the show getting watered down despite Audrey’s wishes…I mean look at how MLP was handled…the final season was just fan service and the very last episode a lazy regurgitation of a season 1 or 2 episode that made ZERO sense…doesn’t surprise me in the least the show went from classic to a blend of Dora Blues Clues and Dr Seus to a jumble of repetitive nonsense that may have ended on a heartwarming note but would be forever ruined and rebooted into a 2D Cuggington style reboot of a beloved franchise
I feel like he should’ve mentioned diesel 10 too, hes also a big missed opportunity
Wait.. THREE FUCKING YEARS?!
And sadly some people still won’t get over BWBA.
Some of these wasted opportunities could certainly make for fun ideas in the revival era someday.

Nobody... wants AEG canon.
That will only work if they bring back the magic railroad and go to the AEG dimension.
This is a great video, but I don't think they'd do Anything with BoCo's twin.
Missed opportunity adapted the rest of the rws 😂and development of expanding and using characters outside of the steam team. When it switched to the main 8, the characters started to feel so overused that they are boring especially Thomas
Agreed, and that would prove to be detrimental for the franchise with kids not learning who many of the legacy characters were.

I dont care what anyone says abt it but TATMR was my childhood. its so overhated when AEG literally exists
I think generally speaking people have accepted Magic Railroad did have heart & effort, but it is incompatible with what the source material was about.
22:34 THAT'S NOT S.C.RUFFEY!
They use 2 S.C.Ruffy facial masks. You can't say that's a simple slip up :)
I ENJOYED THE GREAT RACE!
If they did I bet James' stories would have been condensed and likely rushed so they could get straight to Thomas.
Well here’s how I think the story order would have been.
1. James and The Top Hat
2. James and The Bootlace
3. Thomas and The Guard
4. Troublesome Trucks
5. Thomas Goes Fishing
6. James and The Express
7. Tenders and Turntables
8. Trouble in the Shed
9. Percy Runs Away

IMO Arthur had a lot of missed potential
I always thought arthur shouldve been the new engine on the harwick branch instead of Ryan in legend of the lost treasure, arthur has always been a character associated with the coast, hes a much more visually different, bigger and more modern than Thomas, they couldve tied in thomas ruining his spotless record as a misdirection for him being the main villain instead of sailor john
32:20 untainted? Chris wasn’t able to write his own stories the way he wanted to because the show went down the path it did!
Geez ate you are asking a lot:
True story.
@@dadocta5168 I think I can elaborate on point number 5-
the joke about Duck being renamed to Alice may have been fine in isolation, but it comes immediately after a "joke" about Disney experiencing financial trouble after putting DEI measurements in place.
