This was a surprisingly interesting interview. Paul Keating had his moments, but this is one of the few occasions he looked uncomfortable. More interesting to watch knowing details unknown to the audience at the time. (Kirribilli).
Interesting his comments on CGT (35 years ago) about encouraging productive investment. Following the Howard Govt halving of CGT on housing in 1999 what happened to housing and productive investment? Keating was right so often.
Im surprised Bert Newton keeps wanting Keating to repeat what he said in the house. Bert knows precisely why he cant repeat it. There is no Parliamentary privilege outside Parliament.
