Yeah, he was great at hanging it on people but a terrible leader, ran the country into a recession that we had to have. Interest rates at 18 %. Cut tariffs which decimated our local manufacturing resulting in job losses, bought Italian suits while telling everyone to buy Australian, there was some rip off deal connected with a piggery he sold. Deregulated the banking industry - opening it to overseas banks. He was a comedian in an Armani suit. What a great man.

His vision of Australia becoming part of the greater global economy was genius.
Dropping all the import tariffs to encourage our exports and has created the wonderful economy we have today.
Many items today are far cheaper then ever. Cars especially are cheaper and we all benefit from that. I used to manufacture products and distribute Australia wide. 7 years ago I sacked the last of my employees and now I sit back and import goods that are drop shipped Australia wide. I've never had it so good thanks to import tariffs reduced and only 2 employees instead of 35 and no factory to maintain and just a small office to operate my business. This makes Australia more efficient.
I like many other businesses are far benefiting from this legislation change.

Todays political arena is nothing short of a circus with so called members that would be lucky to hit water if they fell out of a boat. Paul Keating knew Australia was great.
