Flex tape, caulk, sealing products of all types have saved us a lot of headaches and money. We have yet needed to repair a boat we've cut in half, but that's just because we don't have a boat. Keep doing what you're doing. You are great at it... and now I see there's some paste that looks like it should be in our storage sheds!

The water level never decreased, it looked like they agitated timed to chainsaw penetrating by pumping in air.. So, i suspect that there is a smaller area with water being fed an external source that they could shut off, so the pressure wouldnt vlow the "seal" off the tank.
The flex tape is impractical in almost every way, but as a new home owner I’ve found flex seal is a very efficient temporary fix to leaks/cracks/hole etc.
