- POSTAL 2 is one of the most controversial video games ever. It has also been labelled the WORST video game of all time, which is false. POSTAL 2 by Running with Scissors is AWESOME, and in this not Civvie Pro Postal video, we go over why. This is my POSTAL 2 game review. #Postal #Postal2 #RWS
It’s entirely possible to beat Postal 2 as a pacifist.
It’s very easy to do, on most difficulties, in fact.
But only 2% of steam players have done this, because you’re NOT going to be a pacifist, even if that’s your intention going in.

I mean, Civvie called Postal 4 an Immersive Sim, and canonically hes the one that blows up Edensin, so hes not wrong.

You mention how the pissing mechanic is the most famous part of Postal 2, but I almost think the signing of the petition is more recognizable. When mentioning Postal 2 to a dozen or so of my friends, about half of them didn't recognize the game. Of the ones that *did* know about the game, most mentioned, "Is that the one where you get people to sign a petition?" I just found that interesting. I would've figured the over-the-top story or gore would be more recognizable, but apparently the petition is the recognizable feature. Nice video btw, you got a sub from me :)
I think the funniest part about postal 2 is that it’s unironically a great game. I consider it to be in the upper echelon of objective quality.
A few years back when postal 4 first surfaced, i began begging mike j and rws for a playstation port of postal 2 or 4. Now we have postal 1 and 4 on playstation. Rws genuinely listens to their fans and go above and beyond to make us happy. Such wonderful people!
Postal 2 is LEGITIMATELY a great game. Asides Apoc Weekend, it's an absolute gem!

I remember when I first got Postal 2 in 2004, that it loaded foreeeeeever, but it ran fine once it finished. The same with Unreal 2, incredibly slow loading but it ran super smooth.
Loved Postal 2 back in the day and the game felt massive. Tried it again for the first time since like 2008 a while ago... and I can't say I liked it that much honestly.
Some of the jankyness is fun for a while, but the slow movement and poor gunplay got boring real fast. It hasn't aged "that" well imo.
It's funny how the game made a big fuzz here in Sweden. One of the big TV channels tried to get the game banned and they made a extremely one sided "documentary" about "kids & voilent games".
I was playing it recently. I think it still holds up fairly well solely because you don't find games like this much anymore. I only got sidetracked because of Postal 4

I love postal 2, one of my favorite games ever, I regret nothing
The fun in Postal 2 is in the humor, exploring everything, collecting weapons and causing mayhem. You also gotta love the fact that the franchise unapologetically embraces being the stereotype of what every anti-videogame parent thinks when they hear the word videogame. The missions themselves are almost all the exact same and get old pretty quickly.

I don't laugh a lot at media or games, maybe just find it funny in my head and notjing else but when playing this with my friend we laighed our asses off. Best 2 euro spent

My take on the POSTAL series: POSTAL 1 was absolutely horrific [in an atmospheric way]. POSTAL 2 is a stroke of comedic genius! POSTAL III was buggier than a big bug bugging out in a big dune buggy! I cannot wait to play POSTAL 4 & Brain Damaged!
All I know about postal 2 is civie smoked ALL the crack in that game so much they turned him into the dealler in postal 4 lol

Great video, but I have a couple comments so I'll post them all here
-The game right now is leagues better than what it originally was, from improved loading times (due to PC's simply getting better) to the game recieving countless updates (The obligatory sewer system was added in the multiplayer update, weapons like the machete were ported to the base game from Apocalypse Weekend in the modern versions [you did mention that but didn't do it justice IMO], enhanced mode wasn't there, etc.). The amount of new content added with patches (mostly the ones the game got when it came to steam) can only be described as a shitload, Running with Scissors are the shining example on how to treat their retro catalogue.
-Postal 2 is jank to its very core, most people say it runs on Unreal Engine 2, but that's not entirely true. It's more like Unreal 1.5, its a beta of UE2 with a lot of UE1 stuff left over, that's why the game crashes so much (also because of RWS's questionable coding). That's also why the game is a PC exclusive, porting this engine to consoles would take so much effort they might as well remake the entire game (that's actually what Postal 4 started out as, the steam depot is still called 2x2)
-I understand the complaint about the lack of a run button but I feel like that was a deliberate choice, going from one corner of the map to the opposite one only takes a couple minutes but the fact that you have to do it makes it more likely that you'll go postal or just do something else to entertain yourself, possibly causing a lot of mayhem in the process (that's just speculation though, I don't think RWS ever talked about this)
-Also a small correction, the RWS logo didn't first show up in Special Delivery, it first appeared in the level "The Ghetto" in the base Postal 1 campaign.
Its refreshing to see a dev make funs games that push limits and not constrained by ever changing moral panics or political correctness.

Postal 2 is mindless fun in my opinion. It's a satire of FPS games and its humor is pushed to the max. Which I like but not always. It's not the worst game ever, not by a wide margin but I don't consider it to be good either. Like I said, it's mindless fun for me. I give it a 10/10 for that :)
Every couple years or so I remember this game exists and play it again. Never gets old.
I believe that RWS also named the easiest difficulty in postal 2 “Liebermode” which is pretty funny

I should probably mention that trying to kill Krotchy with a machine gun is a bad idea. Krotchy is immune to bullet damage, so you'll need to use fire or explosives.
You can just give him the Gary Coleman book if you don't want to fight him. He's super tough.
Or you could just give him a Gary Coleman book. He won't fight you and he'll give you a Krotchy Doll as thanks

I barely used any of the weapons and just used a scythe and what I called the "chompers" for most of the playthrough lol
Apocalypse weekend was better. My favourite weapon was Machete, you throw it, it cuts the limbs and it tries to get back to you while on way back it's still cutting limbs, so you can run from it to make it chase you and cut everything in it's path.
i find this game hilarious for how overtop the violence is never played before
one thing i really like about this game is, yeah, you dont have to perform any violent acts, we know this
but it does everything in its power to make you *want* to take that easy route. its like having a devil on your shoulder the whole time you play. and i dont mean scripted events where yeah, shooting your qay out is just basic logic. take the bank for instance. the ticking clock, the horrifically slow line, it all makes you think "man id be done so much faster if i just whipped out that pistol i found earlier"
You can also rob the bank's vault, which is also a pacifist way (and gets you a lot of money), as you don't have to kill anyone, and there's a secret passage where you can just leave the bank and get into an office. It's actually the easiest route for that mission, even easier if you have the police uniform on you.
If you don’t want to fight Krotchy. Trade the Gary Coleman book for a Krotchy doll

RWS don't respect their fans. They killed game's lore and spitted in everyone's faces with postal 4. You are subjective, and that's the end of it

For me Id rather watch Civvie play postal 2 than do it myself. I tried it a while ago and whilst I see why some might like it. It wasn't for me, I didn't really like the shooting or combat but Civvie still gave me some good laughs whilst playing.
Too bad they shat the bed with postal 3, and 4, but from what ive seen brain damaged is actually pretty good
