This song needs to be heard today more than ever
Amen
I've seen Stryper 3 times. 1. with the son of a Hells Angel, 2. with a girl who could not clap on beat, 3. with girl that didn't want to listen to the concert. maybe she had homework to do at home. There may have been a 4th time where the girl went down for a alter call to accept Jesus.
🙏🙏🙏you Can say that again 🙌👍🙏🙏
I see alot of non-believers feelin' this album. There's absolutely NO requirement that you have to be Christian to rock out to this! JESUS LOVES US ALL! God Bless each and every one of y'all!
Hail Nimrod!
Yes exactly
This was the song I blasted after my baptism
@@thehunterjk2521 Fellow time sucker here. Haha
Amen my brother!
This was the first heavy metal record I ever bought.
I was a 15 year old Christian lad and I'd never heard music like it before.
It rocked in '86 and it still rocks today.
Jesus is Lord.
First time i heard this song in 30 years. I like everything except the vocals. The music itself is quite good. The vocals are way too hair metal for me. I really like the drums and bass. They're doing a really simple drum pattern but it sounds great. It almost sounds like the drums in 'Enter Sandman'. They must have done something. Metallica said they went out and bought all the wood they could find and built a huge wooden background so the drums would echo.
Not at all heavy metal. Pop rock. Up the Irons!
@@garysmothers1643 No, its called Power Metal
@@Stigma-ba115 to each their own.
I never owned any stryper albums, as a kid i would always get u know ozzy osbourne, john lennon, aerosmith, now as a teen I noticed that my cd collection was lacking something from my childhood which was stryper. I own so many heavy metal and rock cds and I didn't notice until now that styper wasn't in it. Im gonna see if i can find a poster or a cd with their greatest hits coz i rlly loved them as a kid.
I’m not a christian but man does this band and this song rock hard. Glad to see everyone being supportive of each other for once. Thats the power of music. Bringing together believers and non-believers alike
Revelation 20:14-15 (KJV) And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

@@David-lu5tl Death brings us together in the grave, until Christ sorts us
This song is special to me. When Jesus saved me from devil's lies, I would sing this song to tell the devil where he belongs. Praise God!
Gotta give Stryper a ton of credit. They were open about being a Christian band in a time and genre that openly mocked their message. But they stuck to their message.
They still make the circuit. A recent song, Do Unto Others rocks well.
In 1985, 1986...1989, 1991 whatever...whenever I sent a letter because I was upset about life or anything, Stryper ALWAYS sent me a letter back. They sent me autograph pictures, photos, posters and even a couple of bibles and they NEVER asked for a dime.
Thanks for you experience.. I heard they are a great persons..
Do you know their address? I have been wanting to send them a letter for a long time but I cannot find their address anywhere :((
Well I was going to make fun of them but your post has me reconsidering my actions. Sounds like these guys are decent people. My mistake.
@@governmentvirus9368 ...have met them many times over thei years and they have always treated my family like part of their own family. True Christians...
God bless that band & you. 😇🙌💯💪🙏
Way back in the early 80s, I turned my cousin on to heavy metal. One day, he gave me this album and said, "You gotta hear this band." I was blown away. He told me to ignore the words because they were "stupid." Stryper planted the seeds, and then years later, I accepted Jesus at a Christian Heavy Metal band's jam session (Haven.) Stryper holds a special place in my heart. I remember jamming to their music in the car with my BFF, and trying to hit all of Michael's high notes. To this day, I can happily still do that (and creep my kids out at the same time which is a bonus. LOL) You can't take the rock or the metal out of the girl no matter how old she gets!
Same here. I sawthem back in the mid 80's at the dynamo open air festival in the netherlands. The crowd where making wooden crosses and turn them upside down. They started to throw things on stage. And it became to dangerous for stryper to continue. They went of stage and came back 5 min later and it was the best concert i've ever bin too. 18 years later Jesus came in to my life.
I remember in high school they showed the entire school a film that featured many metal bands I guess to make us pay attention more. So when each metal band in the credits was listed everyone in the entire school would applaud for each one until the name Stryper came up was the only time everyone hissed and booed lol. I was shocked and did not know why until later I found out they were a jesus freak band lol
Did your cousin get saved?
i'm not religious but it was nice to read your story
El Scourou neither are we. Forget religion, we love Jesus Christ.
Gotta say for a Christian band this is pretty damn awesome. I’m not religious in any way, but I can appreciate, and recognize good music when I hear it.
Also not religious, but this is evidence that almost anything is better by adding hair metal haha.
@@TheDraykon this is just heavy metal
Well you better get right with Jesus
@@roberleedodson no thanks, I don’t believe in fairy tales.
Listen to some of their other songs like More Than A Man, In God We Trust, Together As One, The Way, etc.
And these are just some examples from the 80s. Wait till you hear the new stuff. The One, Sorry, Make Love Great Again, Revelation, Can't Live Without Your Love (Alternate Version is better), Pride, Yahweh, etc. Go check them all out now. If you weren't a fan before you'll be one after this
Oh and btw if you like alternative rock I recommend the following: The Plan, Murder By Pride, Reborn (2021 remix), Make You Mine (2021 remix)
That's all for now
Not a christian nor a believer, but damnnn this band is awesome, I've been listening to them for years and I can't get tired of it
Jesus loves you bro
same here man!
They got heart. How can you say no to that?
F' yeah bro! Noice! Rock out with your hands out
It takes more faith to not believe the evidence is there.
I wish there were more christian bands like this, The Bible is full of epic imagery that is ideal for heavy metal music.
I agree. Read revelation...the lake of fire and sulfur
King james, saint, bloodgood
Holy Soldier, Bride, Barren Cross, Guardian, Whitecross
Creeping death by Metalica is about Exodus
I'm not really religious, but I love rock. When Skillet came out with Awake n Alive, I discovered an absolute SHITLOAD of Christian rock bands. So they are definitely out there.
A real heavy rock classic with a lot of message. I'm proud they sing against the devil. An unforgettable song.
37 years later, the opening riffs still send chills up my spine.
Yes, it's absolutely magical (or anointed and holy, depending on your world view 🤭).
RIGHT!! 🤟
So many memories! This song was a huge part of my life as a young teenage christian. Stryper made a major impact on a generation of young people while receiving pushback from the ultra-religious. Well done! Next favorites were Petra and Whitecross.
I love this band and their music has helped me in some rough times. I just introduced a younger fellow to Petra (the man is 21 and had never heard of Petra). He now is a new fan!
Me too!!
One of the GREATEST metal songs of all time!!! Guitar harmony done to perfection!!!
My first "big-time" concert ever, and first exposure to Christian music other than 'choir music'. Couldn't hear right for a week, but WOW! What a show! Thanks, guys, for decades of awesome music and ministry!
I love it when I see comments like "I'm an Athiest and I love Stryper" because it just shows that people out there can put religion aside and enjoy the amazing music that was given to us.
Guess it's like me I like slayers music but don't like their lyrics. I'm like if u could have been christian wow.
I mean the talent is unmistakable. These guys were pretty big despite the limited market. They'd have been huge if they were mainstream.
Facts
But those without the believe have no wisdom of the power behind it
I wished they played this song every Sunday at church!
Me too!!
lol im living in front of a church an they would kick me out
Dude you and me both!
that sure would be one service! 😂
I'll do it don't care what they mean these days🤟🤟✌️😁😡😡😡
Satanist here, and I do enjoy the hell out of this song, Christian or not you will enjoy good music when you hear it.
I'm born a Christian..I hate the Devil..I love Jesus..save my life from racism.. sexually abused relationship...bad job...bad co-workers. Amen ✝️🛐
I'm new to this world only been here 14 years but this is some of the best Christian metal bands in history!
One of the most classic Christian rock songs of all time. And some of the most classic idiotic comments of any song.
Literally the first contemporary Christian music I ever heard. Awesome stuff. I miss the 80's...
I was around 3 years old the first time I ever heard heavy metal and it was Stryper - The Way, the love for distorted guitars stuck with me ever since and i remembered that riff all throughout my childhood.
I agree my uncle introduced me to this metal band my first band then got hooked on Rock n roll bring back memories
Stryper had a calling, gift and message! rock on!
Had this on cassette tape in 1988 still rocks AHMEN OH LORD
These vocals are unmatched, wow, just send chills down my spine....dude is just sheer killing it from start to finish
Saw them live at Lloyd Noble arena in Oklahoma in the 80's ! My ears are still ringing! Best concert I've been to yet.
Hey me too!!!! I was 10 years old!!! Awesome show!!!!
Timesuck podcast sent me I had to listen to the full song and glad I did
Anyone else watching this because Dan Cummins and Timesuck got this banger STUCK IN YOUR HEAD?
Hello yeah
Hell yeah!!! Love time suck!
Hail Lusafina
Hail nimrod
Bojangles is pleased!
Listened to this song on my mother's LPs, when I was in first grade and loved it -
now I'm 18 and it's still one of my favs. :D
This was the song that got me hooked on Stryper!!
The beginning of this solo is just extraordinary
A most righteous anthem! This song kicks ass. 💯
Micheal Sweet, what a voice. Sing it, sir! 🙏🏻
I remember when this was released, they absolutely rock for God.
That lead guitar wailing has no equal!!! Badass sound☺
Saw them live in the late 80s in San Antonio 🤘🤘 they were tight & professional as hell left impressed as HELL
Michael sweet has a set of pipes that few can match. Incredible power in his voice.
True that
Matt Brewster amen
Matt Brewster Had
world class vocal talent...
Geoff Tate from Queensryche back in the day could match him
The absolute greatest vocals ever recorded in the history of music. I discovered Stryper when they first came out with The Yellow and Black Attack ep. I have loved them since. I have always felt like Michael has a voice so powerful that there's literally no music that can match it. But with this song, he begins singing with drums only, and then the music tries to match it. The greatest vocalist ever. Can you imagine sitting in the recording studio and hearing that voice ringing through the monitors? It had to just blow everyone away. Here I am now, 54 years old, seen and heard everything and everyone from every genre, but still to this day, I have never heard anything touch this. Put in your earphones, close your eyes, and listen carefully to how each word was sung. It took a Holy God's touch to sing like that!
I'm 42 and last week started to go to church. Love it makes me feel good and to get relief. Trust in God. Funny I've been listening to this band my whole life and something just hit me. There is a God. God bless you all
I'm a follower of Christ and simply love Stryper. Micheal Sweet's voice into falsetto is absolutely insane and still to this day. I almost think their albums now are heavier than their previous releases like this one. All and all.. Glory be to the Lord Jesus Christ for this band.
Uma das melhores bandas gospel que já ouvi!
Deus continue abençoando cada dia mais!
Talent is talent. Michael's voice is on point in this song.
These guys chose the hard way for real. Being a Christian making Heavy Metal for one group, being a Metalhead who firmly believes in Christ for the other. They must've felt like double agents the whole time.
I'm not Christian I am my own God. Born breathing and standing my brothers and sisters live up to your own highs!
I am Brazilian and I listened this band 4 months ago. It's awesome!
Stryper is the greatest Christian band ever hands down
I like Petra they're even better yet but it's all good...
Skillet is right up there with them
Skillet and Stryper are the best Christian Metal bands out there
@@Vote4Trump2MAGA Petra's more of a straight up rock band than metal.
Whitecross 😎
I’m atheist, but I love this song.
Hey 505, Try Jesus. Jesus is the way, the truth and the life. Jesus, not religion.
@@aRedTalonPro Jesus warned in Matthew 24 these days would come and now we are living in the very days Jesus warned and foretold. Out of the kindness and love of God he warns us in scripture. God didn't have to write the word for us. But God did and warns us to give our lives to Jesus and become born again. I became born again myself at the age of 24 on 12-26-1983 and at the present age of 62 im still walking down the narrow road with Yeshua. Take it from.me the bible is truth and so is all I am saying.
Jesus built my hot rod
To Hell With the Devil!!!
Don't gotta love God to hate the devil 🤘
A great band with a great message to the unsaved world
Being raised in church & loving Rock n Roll, I went to several STRYPER Concerts... Those Guy are Great musicians & what a Awesome Voice....
Fortunate to have been able to stumble into a concert they had on Halloween night at the Whisky A Go Go. Glad to see that they are still kicking ass!
The best hard rock Christian band ever!
That sound never gets old. 30 years later.
Loved Stryper as a kid. This hits even harder today. ❤
I use to occationally have dinner with Oz Fox and his son and I use to sing in Chior when we were in college. Oz Fox is not only a super talented guitar player, he is a super cool human being. He walks the walk and is one of the most charitable people you will ever meet. He is too humble to talk about it, but I will say it. He is a man of immense generosity.
Robert sweet is one of the most underrated drummers...you have to see them live...besides the rest...he just made it look so freaking cool...to say the least..lol
Great heavy tune, great guitar, amazing vocals!
Still loving this song all these years later.
Easy with the he double hockey sticks guys! My ears are burning! You're so distracted about staying away from the devil you didn't realize he was creeping into your song with such profanity! Hail Lucifina!
You don’t need the Devil to create true Metal. Stryper friggin rocks!!!
I was a Christian back in my school days and I've never heard of Stryper until one day a Non-Christian classmate handed me a copy of IGWT. I listened to the first track and, the next few days I was running between all record stores to hunt down EVERY Stryper releases I could get my hands on with my limited pocket money. That was in the mid 80's. And the rest, as the saying goes, is history. Still a fan till this day. God Bless Stryper for reaching out into the dark places where some Christians, with their holier than thou attitude, couldn't even be bothered. Thank you Stryper.
I am not a christian but I like Stryper. The sound is just great!
Singing about real evil and good spiritual struggles is most BA! We need more!
Listen to their last 4 albums.... Amazing!!
1. The Final Battle
2. Fallen
3. God damn Evil
4. Even the devil believes
EXCELLENT
those guitar harmonies in the chorus are just haunting. Gives me the chills.
I remember as a kid I had never heard of Stryper until Jimmy Swaggart and Jerry Falwell started lambasting them on television. Of course I had to check it out and fell in love with their music and it was a stepping stone to AC/DC and Ozzy.
37 years late and this song still rocks!
I’m so glad my dad listened to this when I was growing up. I’m one of the lucky few who is into everything from this to Andrea Bocelli to 2pac 😂
STRYPER AS TOURED WITH ANTHRAX THE MEMBERS OF ANTHRAX LOVED LISTENING TO THEM
Screaming along to this album on the way home from work in 2023!
The seed was planted when I got this album. No one in my home read the Bible but out of curiosity I looked up Isaiah 53:5 and it left an impression on me. Now I still had some walking on the wrong path to go because afterall music in the 80’s was powerful and I lived so close to Hollywierd how was I NOT going to check all that action out! God did protect me though. The worst I didn’t in those days was smoke cigs I was always the designated driver and we where younger than most in that era getting a little bit of a late start but in 93 I got SAVED! God is Amazing how he draws His children to him!!!!!
I haven’t heard the new stuff! Which album should I get! I did listen to some of Michael Sweets stuff back in the early 2000’s
I'm a christian and I love Stryper.
stryper rocks!!
I’m a Christian and feel like Venom rocks harder.
Hail Satan.

Im not anymore and love them still....
That's the fucking point
I grew up to this even went to a recording signing for them love Micheal Sweets voice the range is phenomenal noone like him ever
I love Stryper. As a Christian Believer it is awesome to hear a band that has been gifted by God to jam for the Lamb!!! In addition to this they have the musical skills right up there with the Megadeths and other heavy technical bands of the world.
Megadeth has Dave and David that are born again Christians. Kiko was talking about how they pray together before every show. Stryper was definitely up there with the best of them in skill, and passion! They were in my opinion one of the great Metal bands of the 80s.
Fond memories of this song and calling on you…..what an awesome group, loads of talent from the Lord
Michael Sweet has some voice. Still listening to Stryper’s music in 2021. Thanx for uploading great pics and words🤟
Absolutely insane!!!! What a criminally underrated band!
You need to hear their new stuff if you haven't already
The Valley
Love this band the can jam for sure even today
Take it to the Cross is insane! The Valley is the best new song! I own all their new albums since Second coming in 2013 on limited edition vinyl. (Still have all my old stuff too.) Saw them at HOB twice since 2013 too. Their playing again next week but I can't make it this time. Bummer.
Agreed
TO HELL WITH THE DEVIL CD CAME OUT IN 1986 AND WAS THE BEST SELLING CD THEY MADE PRAISE GOD FOR STRYPER RUN TOO JESUS THE ONLY SAVIOROF THIS WORLD JESUS LIVES 777 JESUS LIVES 777 LOVE YOU GUYS EVERY WHERE
My grandpa took me to see them for my 8th birthday, I loved every second of it, I was so bummed out cause he said he was going with some friends and there was no ticket left, but he heard someone was selling a ticket over 200 miles away, he bought the ticket and he said “Guess who’s going with us”, I cried in my bedroom for hours I was so excited
Pretty epic your grandpa took you! 😎
I love how this song is so unbelievably good it unites Christians and atheists. Just pure 80s metal energy!
This isn't just Christian Metal, it's Blessed Silver~!!! Rock on~!!!!!
This album is great from start to finish.
One of the best metal bands, hands down.
I am a christian and live by the will of Christ! I still Love STRYPER!!!!!!
I have been a fan from rhe beginning. Im 54 years old. Stryper really helped me in my younger years. It is not the style of music, it is the lyrics that fed my spirit.
Stiryr is a awsome band back in the 80s an 90s
in Christ we are to love everyone even the enemies.
Jason Barbush Amen
God don't care how you praise, just that you do. Jesus is for everyone.
Not me apparently. Your god hasn't chosen to make me a believer. Guess I get to burn in hell. Your god is a dick.
Heard Strombo and Russel Peters talking about this great song by Stryper tonight on IG live and I’m glad I looked this band up! I’d never heard of them b4 but I’m a fan of metal. Love this!!
Listening to Stryper as a very young impressionable youth, opened my eyes to see the forced fed lies I was exposed to within the church community... listening to Stryper made me see the real light outside the confines of organized religion and the facade that is church. thank you Stryper for leading me "astray" as they say.... Hail!!!!
God doesn't care what kind of music you play as long as you are not hurting anyone. Just use the talent He gave you, that is all that matters. Bonus if you can bring a few people to the faith in the process. Kudos to these guys for doing what they do in the face of criticism.

Yes!!!
What a message. I remember this band. And listening to Winter wonderland in Winter. These guys had some nerve.
I was 8 Years old when they came out! I love them, Iam christian saved from a life of Hell!!! To Hell with the devil!
A lot of rock bands song praises of the devil. It's nice to see a band that has no tolerance for him and reminding him of his future.
My love for Stryper is even more than it was 30 years ago. The World Needs Stryper! The World Needs Peace, and Love... We Really Need God! 🙏
I hope the singer of this band never runs for president.
Why not? The entire band has become a lot more moderate. And besides, a metalhead as US-president? Nice^^
***** Show me one religion that does not have radicals
***** What if I tell you, I'm a Christian who doesn't believe in those elitist ideas, who does not take the bible literally, but more as a symbolic book?
I met Stryper and Poison at a Waffle House after a concert in Florida, 1986. I looked like a young David Lee Roth so I had a similar look.
They were all friendly. And tired.
Now this band is a real band. I love both Rock and Christian music so this combined makes one of the greatest Christan metal bands of all time. The devil doesn't make me like Rock, this band does. In my eyes, the devil is a joke. I love you Lord Jesus.
Old school its still up graded never 4get buying my first tape of STRYPER there songs still stuck in my head........ RAISE HIGH FLY HIGH MY STRYPER BROTHERS....
