Removing the oil filter was really super easy for me on my 2018 traverse. Didn't have to use a tool to remove the oil filter because I never needed to tighten them whatsoever.

I just recently Dutch the mobile 1 motor oil for my 2018 traverse. They're just not that great oil for my traverse. They suffer thermal break down really quickly, and the lubricity is almost existance, which would cause premature engine wear.

Great job changing your motor oil. It is not that hard when you have a vehicle that has all the placement in the easy-access layout configuration. GM did a great job designing this 2nd generation traverse model. Not only that the overall appearance is sleek and very sexy from all angles. Everything just flows and compliment each other nicely. This is just my preference of how a car should be built, not everyone may have the same common sense in taste. This 2nd gen body style is caviar in my eyes. I have the 2018 LT model.
What kind of BS is this! An oil filter is NEVER EVER this easy to remove!
That's because you overtighten the oil filter when you install the new oil filter. It does not need to be manhandled. There's no specific torque for tightening the new oil filter because they all vary. I usually go by hand feel when putting in a new oil filter. Be gentle when tightening it, and I never tighten it to the point where it will not spin no more because it will just be overtighten, making it harder to remove by hand in the next oil filter change.
Fresh oil gets pretty dark.. in my turbocharged 4 banger, for example, i've seen my oil go dark as early as 500 miles... believe it or not, i do every 1500~2000 on my forced induction car...
so im a big supporter in the 3.5k interval, especailly for a family car that isn't racing around. 3.5k more or less sounds like a sweet spot
Doing an oil change depends on how often you driven your cars. The the more you drive your car the faster the oil goes dark. For me, it's an everyday 24/7 I drive my car so I change it base on how often I drive and I usually check my oil every month to get a good gauge on when it will be time for an oil change by checking the oil dip stick. If I can still see the oil color honey color then it is still good for a couple hundred miles before the oil becomes burnt dark. Never let it turn pitch black color because that is bad for your engine as there is just no lubricants left.
That is because the oil quality is mediocre. What you're experiencing is thermal break down in the oil. And the lubricity is almost non-existence. Good quality oil will not suffer thermal breakdown, and the lubricity is always there to keep all the engine components lube versus dried lube. Turbo engine are notorious for producing high heat. Those cheap oil will not fair well in a turbo vehicle. Hence why they go dark super quick because of thermal break down. I suggest you change it out asap to a much higher quality oil.
Videos to old to give you any criticism, but for any others reading, : dont need to run engine that long and certainly dont need to go on a test drive.
Just run it for 30 seconds and let it it set for a few minutes, and check.

Yeah, I don't really care what they put on the labels. Oil change is still the cheapest maintenance you can do to a vehicle. So yeah it might be overkill but I sleep better at night 🙂

You don't need to torque the bolt back on. You just need to hand tight it and then do a 1/4 tight turn to tighten it. Just do not overtighten it. Otherwise, you'll just end up stripping the thread, which can be a costly repaired. I just tightened it by feeling when I put back on the bolt.
Idk what's wrong with mines but when I'm pouring new oil it's just overfilling every fucking second and spill oil I'm having to pour it little by little and Im piss tf up
Pour the bottle sideways and if using a funnel lift it a lil while pouring.
You overflowed the filling and didn't give it time to go down. If you don't have the patience, then I recommend you get a funnel for it so you can dump the oil and not creating an oil spill all over the engine bay.
No the issue was me sticking the funel all the way to the bottom of the hole so it won't let the oil flow down once I kept it half way in the oil went down iight
