One thing you all need to learn right away! Only one person can be the boss. You got to many people trying to be! I'm almost 70 years old and have been around ponies since I was about 12 years old. There are differences between them and horses, ponies have a different temperament and sturdier builds than most full-size horses!! Ponies are more stubborn than horses! If they don't want to do something, they will not do it. They are harder to train too. Good luck, you will need it!
WOW! That’s great information. I hope they see your comment… and take heed. But I’m sure the family is just excited with the new ponies as they will definitely learn a lot along the way.
Changing their names mite not work if the pony doesn't like what you want for them !!! Keep hoofs trimmed n one person fe ds n trains n is there when others come to pet till pony accepts the other person as part of human herd (sorta) to make them move use rope around rump as well as lead rope or smack (hard pat) on rump ,watch fir kick ,sometimes !!! Feed with flat hand n all fingers close together !!!
I dont know these little animals are going thru so much change all at once. I think i would leave their names as they were just to give them a little bit of familiarity left in their lives... Just my thoughts .... I tey to keep as much of the "normal" as possible when moving an animal.
Yes we’ve had horses and ponies are definitely different you do need only one boss to train them and get them used to their surroundings and being around people they need to be brushed daily fed our horse had shelter in the rain he would stand out in the rain in the winter time he can get in the shelter good luck with your ponies
Yup they very unpredictable.
Y'all have so much to learn about horses and how to handle them. Good luck!
Hi Regina how are you doing today. It’s nice to meet you here on UA-cam
Horses have to see the dentist and need their hooves trimmed about every 6 weeks. Stallions can be dangerous especially with a mare in the same pen with them or near them. Horses are a blast to have. I had one when I was a teenager and fell in love with big horses. Congratulations on the ponies.
I think you meant every 6 months
@@cynthiawaite4410 no they should have their hooves trimmed about every 6 weeks. Waiting 6 months to do that will leave them lame and Is actually legally considered animal neglect.
Dentist is about every 6 months to a year for horses
Let Eddie do what he is doing at the moment. He will get use to following. Then put a short leash on him but do not hold it, but continue to let him follow behind Chief for another week or so. Then one day when you both snap on a leash on both don't let go and continue to walk with him. Just get him in a routine. Eventually you will be able to walk both out of the pen. But for the first few times put the dogs up but walk them by the dogs in their pens and they will get use to each other. You guys might look into getting a visiting vet come out and check all your animals about every six months. And start routine check-ups. And start looking for a ferrier for the horses feet. Best thing you guys can do is take the girls to a "book store" I did and let your girls actually look for books to read and learn about horses. Could be a big help for you guys in learning how to take care of the four legged critters. My daughter and I had fun learning together that way. And always h ad the books as backup when needed.
I worked with stallions large and small. Training was a very important tool! In the spring when the mares first come into heat only the trainer worked with the stallions. My mini was a stallion and never a problem although he could talk up a storm around the girls! He was a hoot!
I'm a horse trainer and I use pressure and release training. To halter train them, put the lead on and just put a small amount of pressure on the lead and wait. When the pony makes any sign of releasing the pressure, immediately let off on the pressure and praise him. Use a lot of patience, Eddie's not being stubborn, he just hasn't been halter trained.
Keep this up. When he backs up, go with him. If you put too much pressure on him he is liable to rear up and fall over backwards. They can crush their withers if they land on something.
You could have one person lead Chief around and have someone else lead Eddy to help him figure out that he's supposed to go with you.
I would take their halters off because leaving halters on them is very dangerous.
Please read everything that people are commenting. They all know what they’re taking about. Horses take a lot of attention. Good luck! Have fun!
Minis tend to founder or over eat. Don’t give them to many apples or carrots due to sugar content! Give them hay. They need their feet done by a farrier every 6 to 8 weeks
You may need horse sun tan lotion for his pink nose. Pick their hooves out every couple of days, so a rock does not get lodged on their hooves. It will also prevent, stone bruises and/or abscess. Tie them to a strong post with a little feed in a bucket and brush them.
Yes, put up 2 posts not one. Cross ties will prevent them from spinning around while grooming. Place the posts near the fence so you can hang a hay bag on the fence. They’ll stay distracted eating while you groom them and they can get used to you faster. Grooming daily and having a regular daily routine will eliminate a lot of their fears. Handle each foot daily by running your hand down their leg first. Clean out their hooves and check their condition every day. Get them used to coming when you call them and walk them on a lead shank regularly. The cross ties and handling them daily will also make the blacksmith and vet jobs easier when they need to tend them. Not doing these routine things all the time will make them wild and hard to control. Especially ponies, they can be very stubborn, mean and bully you if you leave them on their own too much.
@@TheCraftydevilSpeaks 1
@@TheCraftydevilSpeaks those pony's will be on a routine and visited all throughout the day. They are so Blessed to be part of the family. All the animals have there own personalities and will do really good together ❤️ I am so excited for you guys and your new additions Eddie and Captain ❤️

@@nahnisjourney1406 thanks did that!
Dutch has another job. Taking care of the pony’s. They need a lot of work. I hope your up to this.
THERE IS NOTHING LIKE THE EXCITEMENT OF A LITTLE GIRL WHO'S JUST GOTTEN HER FIRST HORSE.🧡👏🏼
just remember you have to work with the Ponies EVERY SINGLE DAY. Y'all need to learn a lot. Also take their halters off. You're going to have to halter train them. This is a HUGE deal. Remember you're the boss not them. They also can smell your fear a mile away. Good luck 🤞
Always feed with your palm flat, right now they both stressed.. they just need to settle and get into routine. Ponies do bite more often than horses, at least every one I have been around lol. So just get them to trust. Yes dental care is a must and so is hoof care!!! If they get whiteline it can really damage them. Curry comb will be your best friend😉
Hi Monica how are you doing today. It’s nice to meet you here on UA-cam
A lot of responsibilities! Study what's needed to take care of them. Good luck!
Congratulations on the minis. They are studs. Might think about getting them gelded they will be gentler. Eddie needs to be trained to lead like you would train a foal. Lots of videos on than.
I use to train horses and showed morgan horses.
Yes, I thought that was interesting that they both were stallions, wouldn't be my first choice for a novice.
Yes 2 stallions in those tiny ponies can get very nasty, especially when you add a lady pony.
Congrats. With the ponies. I've had mines, for a long time . I would suggest you do nothing but a good grooming and handling them talk to them for a few weeks, let them settle in, beautiful careful about over feeding and to many treats. Horses are prone to collic. They have to be wormed monthly, . I would suggest reading all you can they are different than large breeds. But are trained for basics the same. And be consistent with the training. They do need a shelter in cold snow or ice . I'm in. Tex a little far I hope this helps love all of you have fun. God. Bless
Only deworm quarterly, I have 9 horses and have had horses forty years. Only have had one colic in all that time.
Put the treat on the palm of your hand and keep it flat.
Hope you all enjoy your horses ( ponies ).
Put the lead on both ponies and lead Chief and Eddie will follow and get used to the lead, Holding both leads.
With horses, when you reach for their forehead just above their eyes like that they throw their head up because they cannot see your hand so they think they’re being attacked from above so to speak. I always approach one side or the other and hold your hand down low so they can reach for it with their nose and smell it and decide whether or not they’re friends. Just don’t reach for their foreheads from up in front; that is not good. When leading a horse you never stand i😢n front of it, and pull ,you stand beside side their shoulder an urge him forward as you move forward. take The end of your halter rope,😮 run it around behind his haunches under his tail and lower, and back up through the ring on his halter then when you push them forward a little with the side of his halter you put a little foreward pressure behind him and horses naturally move away from pressure. If you need any more pearls of wisdom just ask me. Ha ha ha. And by the way just in case you don’t know horses have to be shown everything twice once on each side because each eye has to see the same thing for it to register in their brain. If you walk a horse by something scary and work with them a little bit until they’re not scared anymore but the next time you walk by the same thing if their opposite side is facing it they don’t think they’ve seen it before and they’re scared all over again so always introduce them to every new thing twice once from each direction. You are welcome, lol
I have 4 miniature horses. I might ask you a question or two. 😁
Thank you for taking out the braids, especially in the tail. They need their tails to combat flies. You are correct, your girls are too big to ride the mini horses. If you have quality hay, you do not need to feed them any grain. However, if you want to bucket train them, get the lowest protein and lowest fat feed you can find. (read the feed tags) You only need to give them a handful. IF YOU OVER FEED GRAIN, THEY COULD GET FOUNDER (SORE FEET) that could be so bad they would have to be put down. Especially watch Chief's weight. He's looking a little on the chunky side.
Eddie does not know how to lead properly. It's easy enough to do. Look up "pressure and release".
How's the hunt for a farrier going? Feet need to be trimmed every 6-8 weeks.
They also get too fat fast! I wouldn’t feed the lowest quality grain especially in winter when they need more nutrients to keep their body warm but they don’t need top quality unless you get a female that’s pregnant. Avoid alfalfa it’s too rich and can give them diarrhea
@@TheCraftydevilSpeaks Where they are, they don't need to worry about it getting too cold for them. All they need to keep warm is hay, and it doesn't even need to be high quality hay. That, and a place to get out of any cold rain. The ONLY reason I would even be offering mini's grain would be to bucket train them. And literally, ONLY a handful.
Try not to over feed as they will get Lamanitise ,
@@marymurray1111 Which is the medical name for Founder. Not good, VERY dangerous. No hoof = no horse.
Since you are new to horses/minis, I would suggest that you get some help with learning what to do. Maybe your girls could join a local club. It’s a lot of fun. I have both horses and a miniature horse and there is a lot to learn. They are small so it gives you a sense that you can’t get hurt, but you can. You will have fun with them if you learn about them without getting hurt. Best to geld both of them. Driving them is a lot of fun. Good luck and take it slow. Take care of how much you feed them. They put weight on very very fast. No big round bale. As far as shelter, they need to be protected. A small 3-sided shed would be good. UA-cam has lots of videos and would be a good place to start, and Facebook has lots of groups on miniature horses. Enjoy!
You got a lot to learn about horses
You have so much to learn.....
Wow! You folks have a whole lot to learn in the shortish time possible about caring for horses. I wish you all the very best!🧐🇨🇦
Many years ago we got my step daughter a little white horse that looks like your. He name was Cowboy also. Brought back some memories. Enjoy your new babies!
Hey, y’all! The best way to get the fly spray on them is rubbing them with a rag that has the spray on it. This is a two-fold help for y’all. It gets them protected from flies and it gets them used to your touch and presence. A great guy to listen to, if you can stand the foul language, is Rick Gore at Think like a Horse. He’s here on UA-cam.
Prayers and Blessings always ♥️🙏♥️🌧🥰
Yes, using a rag for wipe down is best if they don't like the spray.
AGREE. THINK LIKE A HORSE. 🥰❤
Steve Young has no foul language.
Horses don’t eat weeds that’s donkeys, also the little pony is know for biting, some of them can be quite ornery.!! Good luck hope y’all have fun .❤️
These 2 little guys are going to be ALOT of work so I hope Brandi & the girls know that and alot of responsibility also. Good luck bc you have alot to learn about being horse owners....time to Google Brandi...lol 😆
Good luck with the mini horses. They are just as much work as a full sized horse.
Consider better fencing, panels can be dangerous for any type of Equine. When pawing near it they could get a hoof caught. Putting up a fence like you have for the pigs is better. They are cute but can be more tempermental than a large horse. Training seems to be needed so have fun and learn with the little ones. Thanks for sharing Also be aware of flattening of ears, that's a sign of possible kicking out at you or biting. Licking of lips and ears tilted toward you is good, lol Read up on all you can on these little guys.
Most pawing takes place by the gate and feeding station. They are very impatient when they know it’s feeding time and will paw the ground to let you know the want their grain. Avoid the sweets too. Use Cheerios and apple slices as rewards for good behavior and don’t feed them treats in between. They are easily spoiled
JUST WOW‼️‼️
Just watching this video tells everyone know you know NOTHING about horses. Find a reputable person to walk you threw getting to know them. STOP reaching for their heads. That is frightening for them. PLEASE except GOOD Equine educational help. Rick Gore is an awesome person (no BS) type of guy. But strate up honest and knows what is best for Equines.
Don’t forget to get a good horse brush and brush them regularly
Congratulations this maybe the biggest advantage you've entered too yet. Horses have a very delicate digestive system. Colic is easy to get and can be deadly. Minis can founder easy and some have hip problems. If you have any horse care seminars in your area it can be very helpful.
Their beautiful 😍.
Teaching that baby to lead , get a longer lead rope and bring it around behind the tail and back up the other side it will move him forward..
The pink nose and no black eyeliner around the eyes will sunburn. He will need lots of shade.
Teff hay will be your best friend. It's the lowest in sugars.
Not a good idea to leave the halters on when you are not around. Just a thought.
The horses we had wouldn't go near pigs, they always got spooked. Remember to put sun block on the white one's nose or it may get sunburnt.
This more then anything else you need to know....NO STRAW anywhere they can get to if they are miniature horses. It can perforate their gut.
They use shavings in stalls for bedding. My first job was cleaning stalls at 13
Good Luck with the ponies! Looks like you're getting some good advise in the comments. 💖👍
Try walking In a circle instead of going straight at first. Also put a lead on both with Chief in front. When Eddie starts to follow just hold onto the lead and let him follow Chief so he gets used to walking on lead.
That's what I was going to say...he will get the hang of it. There is a lot of care, and expense involved, but they are so pretty!
When you want to lead them out of the gate, don’t hook them and head right out. Lead them away from the gate, circle around, get control and then lead them out.
That's exactly what I was thinking while watching Brandy walking chief on the lead.
Otherwise every time you approach the gate they’ll charge and try to brush you off on the post. Ponies and young horses especially, are always trying to see how much they can get away with and then it becomes a habit
Get the girls in 4H. They can learn how to take care of them in the right way. Starting with never leave the holters on them
The halter shouldn't be put on all the time just when you're working the horse they could end up getting hung up in them
Oh my. This will be interesting.Good luck.
You have a lot of work, training, and cost ahead of you. Especially 2! I would have started with one that is trained to learn all you will need for them. They are a lot of maintenance.
I agree. Our kids horses were 14 & 17. Well broke in and easy keepers...but still a LOT OF WORK. Those little horses learn the kids are scared of them and it will be over. They are hard headed . But i believe Dutch can handle it.
You have so much to learn. Good luck with them. Hope you enjoy them as much as I did.
You can try walking them together or put the lead around the horses rear above the hocks & lead it from the opposite side. It makes them want to move forward. Congratulations they are beautiful.
Congratulations on your new additions to the farm! Thank you for sharing your wonderful family.
It's all about pressure and release, my advice to you is watch a couple lead breaking videos. It's easier to watch and learn than read about. 😁
They so cute! Little new members of the homestead! Enjoy!
Sean get two lead ropes and walk both of them. It will be easier to get Eddie to understand what you want. It doesn’t hurt to put pressure on them and hold it. They will give in at some point and after a few days he will start to follow.
Welcome Chief and Eddie to the Dutch family. Brandi they are beautiful.
Love your videos and enjoy watching them every time they come on. May the Lord bless and protect you and your family and the animals and the new animals
As kids on the farm. We had a snow white little retired Carnival Pony.. Her name was Candy. She was awesome. She pulled a little cart with the Clown.. We Loved her so much ! Excited for you guys !!
Separate the feed troughs to each side of the water trough. That should help the feeding. Hooves need trimmed regularly and teeth cleaned. Have a great time with your new babies.
Girls are gonna really have fun with th e ponies. And you and brandy to. Such a lovely family.
With a horse you have to be "expecting" something all the time, especially until they get fully familiar with you and you learn more about their personalities. The small horses don't know they're small. I sure enjoyed our horses when I was a kid, I hope they bring you all a lot of pleasure.
Put hot sauce on poop to break your dogs from eating it
@@dorothyhatcher4714 If dogs eat poop, they need some minerals that are in the poop.
They are are so beautiful. They are adorable. The girls will have alot to learn about them
The horses are so cute, can’t wait until they settle down more. Hope the family enjoy them have a great day ❤️🙏🐴🐴👋👋🙏❤️
Love how Eddie follows Chief on the walk-about.❤. They are really going to be a learning experience.
When I would lead my horses I would hold the lead rope close to the halter. I would steer them where I wanted them to go. I always let them know I was the boss. When they act up I would walk in tight circles until they understood. Do this daily...then tie to post and brush. They will learn to trust you. Trick is daily.
Good job Chief! They are beautiful minis. ❤️
Lead them both at the same time, Eddie will follow Chief and learn it's ok.
Thought the same thing.
Horses require an enormous amount of care.😀🇨🇦
They are really cute but remember stallions of any size can get nasty. Eddie will learn by following chief. Remember to pick their feet and have the farrier keep them trimmed. Enjoy your new babies. ❤
I wouldn’t of bought 2 studs stallions will fight each other they should consider trading 1 stud for a mare
@@michellemccarthy5656 easy fix....brain surgery for one or both, we have run geldings with studs before and never a issue, have run a stud with geldings and mares and never a issue. Geld the younger one or both.
From reading the comments, these babies are going to be a lot of work and expense. The are very pretty.
If the paint is 1 1/2 years old it won't be grown until it's 5 years old, it should have already shed the hair, if you have a tractor supply there pick up a slick and easy, they work great on getting the long hair off, good luck with the babies.
Oklahoma petting zoo!
Don't forget the white one will sunburn.
Horses, mini or full size, take a lot of WORK. As another commenter said, vets for shots, worming, teeth floating, farriers for hoof care, certain types of supplements and feed so they don't founder, develop laminitis, colic, etc. Plus daily work to tame and train... I'm not sure you know what you've gotten yourselves into. Plus, it looks like Chief is a stallion, I couldn't tell about Eddy. You could have temperament problems with a stallion, even a small one. Horses shouldn't be lawn ornaments. They are sensitive, emotional animals that behave certain ways due to their instincts.
I generally approve of most of your videos and feel you do everything possible to set yourselves and your animals up for success. I'm just not feeling positive about this move. Prove me wrong, please. Watch "the farm on route 66" also "Think like a horse ". Farm on route 66 rehabs and trains horses, donkeys from the Navajo reservation and has good success with starting and finishing horses and donkeys. He doesn't have luxury infrastructure but uses what he has effectively. His whole family gets in on it.
Yes I agree fully! Definitely reach out to Rick from @thinklikeahorse
I agree.. with the house not finished, winter coming, no barn with stalls, etc.. I cannot understand why put more work on Dutch and the family until you are settled a few Yrs. Gee, I see just more care for these pets.
Very well said. This could be disastrous for the ponies. And is one a stallion? Good grief. This sounds like a very uneducated move.
We raised horses for years. Shots, worming and just about everything else can be done by you w/o taking to a vet. You mentioned Chief was 1½yrs old and Eddy was just a year old. That's a big difference & training him with the halter & lead while he's walking with Chief and eventually leading him into the lead position etc will help build his confidence.
Think positive & don't listen to the naysayers. Yes, you should feed with the open hand-palm up for things like sugar cubes, hay cubes etc but carrots & apples, hay & grass can be fed with you giving them the biggest portion in front of your hand so when they're nibbling it down you can release the rest from your hand.
You're used to worming, shots etc with the pigs, goats & sheep so you have the right knowledge already!!
I agree. My daughter had 2 mares that she trained herself. You should get sone respect training underway right away. Biting is very bad behavior. They should back up out of your space when you walk toward them. Lead, tie etc. I once got wormer all over my hair trying to worm my daughter’s horse!
Po nies‼️Good luck, they will be fun but lots of work.‼️❤️‼️
You should spend time daily with them or they get wild type. One problem I found is they are tiny horses with full size horse teeth.
Found early on that the best way to get them to come to you and follow you is by bucket training them. Put a little grain in a bucket and they will come to you or follow you wherever you take the bucket. I had a Mini donkey and a 39" Shetland pony and learned the bucket training when they got out and I had to go over a mile to get them back home. Good Luck and the Girls have a lot to learn with maintaining and taking care of the Ponies.
Eddie sure has a unique color. I've never seen a curly haired horse before. They are so cute. Congratulations!
Oh my goodness they are so precious 🥰. Chief has some beautiful eyes. And Eddie has pretty fur like wavy. good job chief and Eddie for following him to.
Congratulations on you ponies, I’m sure they need to learn to trust you. Good luck guys, they are beautiful! ✌🏼❤️🙏🏼
Nice ponies. They need to trust you. Number 1 rule ( don't show fear ). Horses and ponies can feel your anxiety. Take care.
It looks to me Chief is intact stallion. To teach Eddie to lead take him with Chief. It will help build hid confidence. Turn Eddie to the side if he locks up and won't go forward and make a circle. Get Chief a fly mask that will help shade his eyes, blue eyed white horses can slowly lose sight from being light eyed and the reflection of white on his face.
Congrats on the new additions, very cute. Reading through the comments you have been given lots of very good advice. Don’t try to rush it, let them settle in & get used to not only the humans, but other animals & a different environment😊 Take care & cheers 🐨🦘🥰
Studs can get mean so be careful if they aren't gelded. You'll have to find you a ferrier to keep hooves trimmed. Congratulations on the new additions.
Farrier
@@kathiebogue8579 Thank you..
Hope all goes well with the new addition of animals.
Love the mini horses and their new names. They’re so cute.
When I was a kid many years ago my friend had a Shetland pony and every time one of us tried to get on him he’d turn his head and nip us. 😢😢. Hurt like all get out. Tip: instead of spraying the horse spray a soft cloth and rub it on them and you’ll get spray on them and your touch at the same time.
Never pull a horse, it teaches them they're stronger than you, once they figure that out it's harder to break! If you have to back them through what they won't pass!
True. Always hold the lead shank close to their head and stand to the left side of them at all times. This way you can steer them to where you want them to go. never give them their head, make it known your the leader of the herd (the boss) also the closer you stay to their body, they can’t kick you. When they bite, jerk the lead shank firmly and sternly tell them NO BITING. They’re smart, they’ll get the message. Lead shank chain, should be laced through the side and up over the nose and clipped on the opposite side. When you need to control them the chain over the nose smarts. It’s not cruel, and once they learn the rules, you won’t have to enforce them so much and they actually will respect you more.
Be very careful how much you feed them. Ponies don't require grain[no corn either.]. A good quality hay is usually all the need. And be careful with the treats, because they will get nippy. Good luck with the cuties!
Um suggestion. Don't pat them. Gently lay your hands on them and rub them. I suggest watching a few videos by Steve Young Horsemanship out of the UK. He has some wonderful videos on training horses, however he gives sound advice on the way you interact with your horses, ponies etc... Very much worth your time.
Mini Horses Rule!!! I had a mini mare for 30 yrs...my beloved horse child and the ultimate diva queen of the universe....minis are quick, have brilliant minds, and are fantastic....
Sell them quick!!!
CHIEF AND EDDIE ARE ADORABLE ✌️💙🙏
You’ll have to get them horse blankets when it gets a little colder and it’s nice to keep them covered when it gets really chilly rain they’d like to be inside you can put them in at night in the separate stalls are into the same enclosed area lots of water and I can’t specify that enough lots of water green do not overfeed them they can get the same thing a dog gets bloat and they can lay down and twist the bellies up and it’s not something you can fix easily so don’t feed them too much stay within a certain diet form I know goats can get bloat also even sheep so you just gotta stick them to their regular diet lots of care and the more you handle them brushing and going through the tail brushing them I just care for them regularly every day that way they get more familiar with you like any big animals or even small animals you gotta clean them and horses are more hands-on they like to be spoken through and loved on just like a dog
May husband was in the Army. He did the same thing and named his big horse after his best army bud!! Enjoy them!!
You better start an equine bank account lol, between farriers equine dentists worming hey feed and horses, ponies always find a way of hurting themselves. Need grooming brushes oh by the way, not a good practice to keep their halters on they can get caught on anything and cause injuries
"Steve Young Horsemanship", here on UA-cam. He has LOTS of videos on training. I really like his methods, with LOTS of explanations, on the way horses think and learn. He uses the "pressure and release" method, in his training. Have fun! They are both SO handsome!
Just becareful how many treats and how much food you feed them, and you don't have feed them alfalfa everyday, regular orchard grass hay or just a really good hay, save your alfalfa hay when it gets colder out.
Have fun, do alot of reading up, remember they will sense your fear, always correct them .
We had a pull cart. It is great! Excited for the girls.
First of all congrats on the decision to be horse owners. May I suggest that you get a trainer to come there and work with the horses and you. It will be the best thing for your new additions and the kids.
I love horses and ponies.. I grew up at a horse racetrack 🐎 so much fun and so much work!! ❤ good luck everyone
Walk them both at the same time and Eddie will learn.. also NO sandals!! You think being bit is painful.. removing your skin on your foot is painful
Your mini ponies are very cute 😍
Nice addition to your family.🐴
Hi guys! Beautiful minis.
To train Eddy to lead, put both horses on leads and walk them together. You can use a dog leash as well for training.
Also, Chief appears to be an albino. Is his skin pink all over? He can get sunburn. Looks like you have plenty of shade though.
Looks more cremello.
Chief is definitely an albino and will need special care year round to protect his skin from sunburn.
@@pooftiger creamellos are more of a cream color. He is pure white and is definitely an albino
@Love Country Grandma I agree that is dangerous
I like your new animals.! Looks like you’re going to have your hands full getting them trained!!
I don't want to discurage you nice folks, but I am an advocate for the horse..please train your .
Mini's to come to you...so you don't have to run all Round trying to catch them...and Remove the halters..halters should only be used for training and moving to and from their stalls and pasture..never keep them on them...they are Murphys law,..what will go wrong will go wrong...they can get impaled and caught and end up with a broken neck...and always inspect their area for any signs that will create a very expensive vet bill...good luck with them....
I love Eddys colors. Beautiful babies. ❤
You all need to get trained on horsemanshp, horse management and feed/care. The blue eyed needs a shelter to get out of the sun or you will be dealing with health issues. With all the animals you already maintain horses/ponies need a totally different care. Halters need to come off and shouldn't be a full time part of there wear. You will need a Farrier to maintain their hooves health. This coming from a Horse Owner. Sad to see you put the Cart before the Horse.
I’m glad you have a lot of shade around there because of the fact light colored horses and sun they actually get sunburned a lot easier specially the one that has the white eyelashes their eyes could get burned very easily
NO HAY, NO PASTURE ,NO NOTHING BUT AREN'T THEY CUTE BULLCRAP, DUMB BUT THEY ARE CUTE
Great episode. Sorry about the bite Brandi. Looking forward to seeing the shelter!
You will get a lot of good advice from Rick at Think Like A Horse. Also, Steve Young Horsemanship. You want to use some pressure and then release when Eddie takes a step. Baby steps. Eddie is probably scared like he's just been weaned. It is okay to pop him on the nose if you get nipped. Are they both stallions? You might want to castrate one before you get a mare. Can't wait to see your new animal adventures! 🙂
