Hey Dutch you think she's hiding over there because she's afraid of the dogs, and eating her eggs because once in awhile I see the dogs come wandering back in from out somewhere!!?
So...my neighbor ‘borrowed’ two goats to clear brush on a hillside. I guess he didn’t fence it well and they escaped. All local farmers and hunting lodges were asked to be on the lookout for these two goats. Nothing. Six months, including a harsh winter, went by. Then they showed up out of the blue at his doorstep, as tho saying..”Were back!”.
After watching Jason & Brooke from Cog Hill Farm with their peahen Ozella, I think you will have trouble finding the nest, they are the masters at camouflage. Betty is acting just like Ozella, so hopefully she’ll appear with little peachicks in tow. Good to know she is ok. Take care & cheers 🐨🦘🥰
Jason over at cog hill just went through this with their p-hen Oscela they finaly found her at a corner of the barn. She blended in so well you could not see her unless she moved. She now has babies following her around.
Hog rings in their noses is what grandpa did with our hogs, and we had plenty of them when I was coming up. And Betty, well, she's just going to do what she wants, short of keeping her penned up. Love ya'll ❤️
I'm glad you guys are doing it again l sure do miss your cooking channel. Good luck finding her nest you can step on it before you see her. God bless you and your family.
I already watched, hit the thumbs up, then, I subscribed and rang the bell. Glad Betty is ok. Hope you find the nest before she brings all the peachicks home! Prayers and Blessings always
So glad you figured out where Betty was going! Sure hope she hatches out some peachicks. I loved Dutch Eats! Glad you're getting it going again. Blessings, Texas Deb 😁👍❤️
Run a hot wire low to the ground to keep them away from the permanent fence. My Dad raised pigs and after chasing several all over the place, he started putting a low hot wire to keep them away from the fence. Wood didn't work, they either chewed it or outright broke it to escape. Forget about rocks, those just get moved
Jason’s Ozella was on a nest way over by the barn. Seems like they like to be alone. Hopefully she’ll be ok and bring them lil babies home to daddy Bobby.
Please finish the tiny cabin- at least the outside. Happy to hear Betty is ok. It would be cool to see little chicks running around. Thanks for sharing
Love u are starting up the other channel..as always..I just follow where u go..lol..those peahens can sure camouflage themselves when sitting on a nest..I would have never believed where Coghills one decided to lay…Hopeu find her nest and she is able to hatch her babies..❤
Glad you saw Betty. On the canning a good site for Brandi to check out is Sutton Place, the kneady Homesteader, and Linda's Pantry. That's free real good sites for home canning. Thanks to you we started raising Hogs a few years ago. We now have four breeder pigs as well, 12 young pigs between 20 and 30 lb. We have been canning pork for the last 2 years I'm not saying I'm good at it but we have come up with some things that are pretty good including sweet and sour pork barbecue pork Etc and that is thanks to you
I like the Kneady Homesteader Heather too. Another I like is called Rose Red or something like that. She cans bother ways, plus dehydrates and freeze dries.
Hello, I need to go check out the other channel. Been waiting for you to post on it. I never got the notice. Betty will hatch out the babies and you will hear the babies chirping. On Cog Hill the pea hen Ozella hatched out babies quite a ways away from the other animals. On the edge of the woods. Pearl and Percy are really growing.
Lol I would be surprised if you can find Betty ! Her camouflage is excellent and you could be walking right beside her and if she doesn’t move then she is safe. Happy to hear Betty is safe and fingers crossed she comes parading back in a bit with her babies ❤️ Love that you are placing water out for her. Your place is looking great and shows all the hard work you guys have been putting into it !
I look everyday to see if you have posted. I love watching all you and your family do. I have subscribed to all of your channels, and Hayden's too. God bless.
Dutch, run a single strand of barb wire inside along bottom of the fence. This will keep the pigs from rooting. It's easy to staple onto the posts and cheaper than lumber.
Enjoyed everything 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 thank you for sharing have a wonderful evening 😊😊
If you have any spare trail cams, Set up one pointing at where you saw her enter the woods, then go into the woods 15 -20 feet, point another one back towards the first, watch if she comes back that way and see what direction she comes from/goes to. then re point camera in that direction. Keep leapfrogging the cameras until you narrow down the area more.
I find it interesting that you're lost bird could lay there on eggs for 2 days and not move for water not go looking for food I think that is just totally amazing more especially in the heat
Hoping you are able to find Betty and her nest soon! As you know I never miss a video and am going to share this video and try to help you get more subscribers!! Praying you get to 50,000 quickly and move up from there. Have you all in my thoughts and prayers. Love always Grammie Suzie from Bradenton Florida ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I subscribed to Dutcheats, I didn’t even know it existed anyway I hope you find Betty’s nest 🪺! Love watching your channel, you guys are so down to earth! Looking forward to the next video! ✌🏼❤️🙏🏼
Betty is busy and she doesn’t want anyone to find her:) that would be cool if she came home with a bunch of babies:) glad the pig is feeling better:) tfs stay safe and God Bless:)
Just a suggestion, I would run a hot wire about two inches off the ground around the pig's pen that will stop them from trying to root under the fence.
You probably walked right by Betty. The peahen will tuck their head close to by body. With their brown feathers they blend in really good. We had one lay in our compost box I didn’t see the first time , I heard that’s where it was laying.
Hope Betty can safely hatch her eggs! So glad you started Dutch Eats back up! I subscribed to it back when you first started it. I don't always comment, but I watched both channels. I always hit the Like button 👍 before I start watching y'all 🤣 Love 💕 y'all GOD Bless your Family 💜🙏🙏🙏🙏
Have a wonderful weekend. stay cool and safe. Betty will hide in the shade in plain sight And you will not see her! It is amazing how they can hide. I hope you find her but then I don't cuz I don't want the pups to her find her..❤🙏❤
Hey, from NC... it's been hot out here, too! When you said "put some pants on" I thought... He's walking around there with no pants??? I'm sure you had shorts on and meant get some pants to give you more protection from the ticks to go looking for Betty. Haha
I'm going over to your other channel after I'm done telling you I love your channel and can't wait to see what your going to be doing next on your house
House is looking good, watch the heat and while ya wait don't forget to hydrate..Glad the peahen came back,we just had a bunch of peachicks hatch out they clucking all around looks like seven or eight, cute little things.Pigs are getting big,we ran a hot wire around the perimeter of the pen at the bottom to keep them from escaping, nothing else worked they moved everything we tried to put there! Hot wire worked.. Talk at y'all later, from New Orleans...
To keep the last couple of pigs that I had from rooting out I put like 3 hog rings in their noses. You will have to notice them to make the rings don't fall out. Before I slaughtered them I did have to put them back in on one of the house. I picked them up at tractor supply and be sure to pick up the pliers for using them.
Dutch I saw where there is a deadly snake that has been found in Oklahoma. You might want to check into that. This coming weekend it to get up to 100 again. Enjoyed and thanks. Love y'all
How about setting up a GAME CAMERA? To find where Bettys going? To use for property to see what type of wildlife etc? I think it would be cool with some surprised maybe at night as well?
I’m glad your hen came back, it would be nice if she hatched out chicks the pigs are doing much better no cough your little piggies are getting big love your Chanels Dutch Eats , keeping it Dutch you have a good night ❤️🙏🐓🐓🐓🐓🐖🐖🐖🐖👋🌸🌺🌼🦚

Cog hill family farm peahen did the same thing. She hatched 5 babies. So cute.

Or a gps tracker.
Betty is going to be well-camouflaged in that brush. She’s a good mom.
Jason over at cog hill just went through this with their p-hen Oscela they finaly found her at a corner of the barn. She blended in so well you could not see her unless she moved. She now has babies following her around.
