Hickok45 videos are filmed on my own private shooting range and property by trained professionals for educational and entertainment purposes only, with emphasis on firearms safety and responsible gun ownership. We are NOT in the business of selling firearms or performing modifications on them. Do not attempt to copy at home anything you see in our videos. Firearms can be extremely dangerous if not used safely.
My wife hates this guy! Lol
3:00 in the morning, I'm watching Hickok45 and I hear my wife grumbling, you're not buying another gun.....turn him off! Lol
buy some Bluetooth headphones...
I know right, I know you not watching his videos? Me: Its a hunting video lol..... Like I have said before he could sell us a heater in hell, got me several times lol
Yeah, I bought one too!! Expensive little revolver, but it's a great gun!!
sounds like u need a new gun,..... and a new wife LOL
@timmybmn i hear you haha. Ive always loved firearms and had a decent collection at best but since watching hickok45 it has gotten substantially bigger (at least doubled LOL)
Hickok45 is the ACTUAL most interesting man in the world
And he doesn’t even have a foreign accent!!!🤣🤣🤣
Bought one of these k6ss early on, when they weren’t popular. My local gunshop and range had them on sale for $100.00 off. I was there for the range and had some extra money, so I bought one. Totally changed my mind. I now own a 21/2 inch, a three inch, and my wife owns a 21/2 inch. I don’t even mind them loaded with 357s. Highly recommended!
Deciding between this and a Chiappa
Fan from Germany ... I just love seeing those videos, and everytime i get reminded, that here in Germany, i won't be able to get stuff like this ... I really envy those of you blessed with the Freedom to do so.
Man, what happened to you guys? Europe once trembled in your shadow, now you have the likes Merkel of in charge...
Same in the UK, not allowed unfortunately.
Awesome video....I wish you could do a video of your entire collection...how many guns do you own😁😁😁
Come to USA like I did. Europe is dead, killed by design by globalist traitors in EU and will get worse...
Guns are fun to shoot, but do a comparison on the murder rate in USA vs Germany or the UK before you wish for more lax gun laws.
I’ve owned my K6 for 4 months now and have run over 1200 rounds of a variety of 38 specs and 357 mags through it. I think it’s a “game changer” in the defensive carry revolver market and it’s now my primary CCW. Excellent double action, sights (also easily changed if I want something different), fits my J frame holsters and just enough heft that hot loads are not un-shootable.
I just bought mine and I'm excited to start carrying it. Would you recommend loading with 38+P or .357
Junior Elizondo I own one and I personally carry Hornady custom xtp 158g. Going through a full cylinder worth of 357 can get painful.
What kind of holster sp you use for ccw?
Junior Elizondo I use a Kydex holster from Just holster it! Got it off amazon for like $50ish I believe
I’m definitely buying this.
I just can’t make up my mind in 2 or 3 inch barrel also the TLE or SS.
No I can’t afford both 😫😫😫😫
Almost every time I watch a Hickok45 video I want a new gun.
Are the ballistics of a 357 magnum even GOOD out of a 2" barrel though? Or do you just end up with a lot of recoil without a lot of velocity? If so, the K6S DASA 3" might be the more attractive option, that still has a hammer for SA if you like.
@@BoopSnoot the extra inch will gain you at most 200 fps. Even with a 3" barrel the slight radius is too short for much range - see Hickock's comments about this being 'an up close and dirty gun'. Thus, for the useful range of this gun, 357 magnums will be very effective for any defensive scenario.
Same with me🤣
Glad I'm not the only one
@@BoopSnoot I bought some 357 rounds from buffalo bore specifically designed for short barrels. 125 grain 1200 fps out of a 2 inch barrel, about the same out of a 4 inch because it was designed to burn all the powder on 2 inches.
Doesn’t have the big fireball out of a short barrel some other rounds have.
I always love the gong close ups, where the distance and depth is strong enough that you can see the bullet's full trajectory. Even better with higher caliber rifle rounds where you can see the air displacement radiating from the bullet
The Mr Rogers of Firearm Safety.
This is a perfect comment
this comment is definitely worthy
Looked at one of these just today! Price aside I'm quite impressed. 6 rounds, no-snag internal hammer, takes .38 spec., .38 spec. +P in addition to .357, night sights, rubber grip and beautifully machined and finished. Have been a big fan of S&W, Colt and Ruger revolvers for 50 yrs. but am seriously considering replacing a Kahr PM9 with this as my edc. Great review, H45.
Just shot my K6 this morning for the first time. All good, smooth action, easy to shoot, and I shot it better than I expected.
I have a sizable Kimber collection, but I'm generally not big on revolvers. This one has my interest. Well done.
you changed my whole perspective on revolvers for concealed carry. While the ammo capacity isn't great, nor is the reload time great, reliability is most important thing for a carry gun right next to how comfortable it is in your hands and how easy you can conceal it. You want to be printing as little as possible, if not at all if you can help it. I would love to have one of these Kimber revolvers, but a 1000 dollars I think is asking a bit much. I would love the 6 round capacity, but again for a 1000 dollars? Regardless though, I think I will consider a J Frame or the Ruger LCRX with a 3 inch barrel
My K6S preference also runs towards the 2” variants. Artistry meets engineering in the K6S. Well worth the money.
Kimber makes very nice revolvers - People just get loyal to a company's name and knock anything new that comes out - I will tell you this - That gun is very nice - After seeing all different types of revolvers that handgun is probably the nicest yet - Small, Compacted, Built and made very well - And shoots .357 Magnum rounds ? - What more could you ask for ? I will definitely pick up that handgun for my first revolver without a doubt.
Thanks Bud's, Thanks Fed, and Thanks Hickok/John. Sort of late to the game, but have had a S&W Model 49 since 1978. Was intrigued with the K6S and purchased one via Bud's. Got a bunch of .38/.357 reloads and can't wait to try them out.
Didn’t hear you mention the recessed cylinder . Not a lot of companies doing that these days . Could be part of the reason for some of the higher price .... maybe
Glad you finally found out about Kimber quality! I've been shooting my Kimber S.S. (Target II) for 12 years, and the K6S is my next C.C. firearm.
Thank you for the great review
one of the best introductions ever!
great stuff Hickok
I just want to thank you and john for giving me the knowledge I so desperately needed for use when purchasing a firearm. I have only bought guns that you have reviewed since I started watching your videos and am always 100% more satisfied with my decisions afterwards. Unfortunately i don't have the luxury of having a local gunshop with friendly, helpful, and knowledgable staff near me so buying firearms before was a very hit or miss experience and after buying 3 pistols all of which i wasn't 100% satisfied with afterwards I decided to look into reviews and found you and haven't had that kind of bad experience since... again THANK YOU and GOD BLESS
You need to watch some better reviews if this is where you get your information
It's the first new production revolver that I've held in the last couple years that I was thoroughly impressed with.
I like most revolvers but I want this one more than any other right now, just looks great!
@@wapiti3750 what exactly made them lemons?
@@wapiti3750 really sorry to hear that man, I really wonder if the newer or older models are better? Most of the reviews I have read on the K6S have been fantastic, the price was definitely a sore spot, also the lack of mods, but there has definitely been an increase of them.

Hi.... stumbled on this video AGAIN 😂 today. I had two smith pd351. Bad luck with. Third one perfect. My k6s is perfect. You’ll get a dud once in awhile. Would highly recommend this with Sticky Holster. Appendix carry to pocket carry to truck console with no effort. Perfect balance. Great trigger. No disappointments here

Sorry about your bad luck, I just love the Kimber. I had a S&W Bodyguard, the one with the hump, I believe the Kimber is a much better firearm.
I’m normally a Ruger guy when it comes to revolvers but if Hickok45 buys a gun then I know it’s worth the investment. Picked up the kimber k6s DASA 2in with wooden grips today. Beautiful looking gun!
Did you get the DCR? I just picked up a DAO 2” DCR today for $1,049.99. Curious what you paid.
@@LambsBlood33 $989.00 + tax
I just got the vary same gun last weekend. It was love at first sight for me, just love the workmanship, styling, weight, sights, and function. To me it was worth every penny.
@hickok45 you were talking to me at the 28:58 mark. I don't have an excessive amount of rounds through it, but I can say that I really like it. It's one of my favorite firearms, due, large in part, to the fact that it came from you - it's actually been handled and fired by the man, the myth, the legend - Hickok45! Keep up the good work! Believe it or not, there are a few of us folks up here in Kentucky who have the internet, and we love watching your videos. All the best,Rus
Fantastic review of the spectacular Kimber K6s revolver. The muzzle flash at the range is more beautiful than a comet streaking across the sky. Perhaps a gun equally as good as a Kimber 1911. ❤️
Wow that's a heck of a nice revolver hickok. Never thought kimber would come up with such a beauty and with six shots, I love small revolvers and small semi auto's and having that sixth shot, especially in 357mag is chicken dinner all the way. Yeah it's not cheap but if your in a do or die situation that revolver is going to be a big help, again with those rubber grips and hot 357. load. Fantastic! I want one.
Ahhhh, so many revolvers, so little money. Thanks Hickok, John
Hi I live in the UK, I just love following your channel, I have been to the U S several times, to visit family and friends , and the high light of my holiday is range time,or going hunting, I have shot black powder, as well as cartridge weapons you are so lucky to have the right to bear arms, the skill and coordination is what I look forward to just being able to put it all together , and knowing I did that gives me a real high, by the way was that a mussel car my late nephew had one just like it in shape and colour.Best RegardsB.Haddock.
Those Squirrels were so used to gunfire, you had to shoot MULTIPLE times before they were like "Fiiine, we'll leave... Ugh"
My EDC is a .38 Chief Special that my Dad carried for decades. I traded a Model 10 for it. We’re both happy, some day I’ll give to my son. Thanks for the video guys. Nice car John.
What a beautiful little revolver!!!
I lusted after a 3” K6S for over a year and didn’t like the price, then along came Black Friday a couple weeks ago. I like shooting it a lot more with the reduced price, replaced the grips with rubber and put night sights on it. A very nice shooter now 3” groups at 25 yd, I’ve got the trigger pull figured out wonderful!
Another great video from hickok45.
I share his admiration for the K6.
They have re-written the book on revolvers.
Thanks.
Truely, Kimber knocked it out the park with my K6s (5yrs. later) and I’m a 1911 Kimber Pro Raptor ll in 45 acp till the end fan. Now I have (2) favorite pistols completely different! #KimberFan#1911#Snub-noseSaturdaynightSpecial#45acp.#357Magnum#Godmade(2)Kimberhangunswith(2)differentloadsonthe7thDay@budkelly2300
Gander Outdoors closed the local store and I bought the K6s DC model at 40% discount. Beautiful gun. Hated to changed grips but just had to have the extra half inch I got from the Altamont replacements. Love this revolver. Wish everyone had it.
Take it from my experience. I was ecstatic to purchase a DOA version of this revolver.
I had to race to the local hospital to see my dying mother. I carried it daily when I finally squeezed the trigger, NOTHING! FIRING PIN WAS BROKEN.
KIMBER REPAIRED IT WITH THE UPGRADED PARTS.
IT HAD BEEN AN ISSUE!.
Good news , BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! CLICK!!!!!!!!!
I was in the market for a carry gun and being a revolver guy, specifically S&W revolvers, that was where I started my search. Along the way I picked up a Colt King Cobra and was all set to pull the trigger on buying that however I wasn't all that happy with the sights. Then one day I happened to see a Kimber K6s DASA, it was love at first sight, the trigger pull and sights were made for me, I loved the style and quality workmanship that went into making it. Yea it cost a bit more than the Colt or Smith but not enough to matter that much to me.
Thanks for posting this Outstanding video review of Kimbers K6s 357 Magnum with a 2 inch barrel, with fixed 3 dot white sight revolver! Great review as always!
I recently bought a Kimber K6s revolver and really enjoy my range secessions. For a 2 inch barreled revolver it is extremely accurate!!! My results at the 7 yrd -10 yrds range, I've shot one inch groups. At 15 yrds my groups were only 2-3 inches. At 25 yrds the groups opened upto 4-6 inch groups. My model K6s revolver has the fixed 3 dot white sight, which I find are very accurate, but will be changing them for Night Sights.
The trigger pull measured right at 10 pounds on my trigger pull guage. This is a double action only trigger, but it is very controllable, I can stage the trigger midway or so to have a single action feel about it allowing for precise sho placement t. This is an outstanding carry gun that I can count on when needed!!! I'm also looking at Kimber's K6s DASA with the 3 inch barrel in 357 Mag to add to my wheel gun collection.🤠 I'm also a 1911 fan and carry one regularly backed up by a the S&W 442 or 60 and now the Kimber K6s!!!
I've always been a revolver fan especially S&W Revolvers, 442, 42, 15, 19/66, 65, 60, 49/649, 586/686/686plus, etc... basically any S&W wheel gun.
Way back in the late 70’s and early 80's, I carried either a S&W 19 2.5 inch barrel 357 Magnum for on/off duty carry or a model 66 2.5 or 4 inch barrel 357 Magnum, with only 6 rounds in the chamber and 24 rounds in my 4 Safariland Speedloaders on my gunbelt. I never felt under gunned or that I didn't have enough to on me. I always carried what we called a war bag back then(Aka: "Bugout bag" now, back then it was packed with extra ammo 2 50 round boxes, food was MRE's, water, change of clothes, a small zipper bag with 6 extra Speedloaders loaded with Federal 125 grain Semi Jacketed HP ammo.) Outstanding ammo with a reputation for one shot stops according to Even Marshall's book.
Stay Safe and watch your Six!!! Reb Tyree out.
This mans videos make me happy.
There was something about this revolver. Well, not this revolver but the dasa version. I kept thinking about it and thinking about it and today I picked it up. It's even prettier in reality and the weight is great. I was never a kimber fan, heard plenty of stories, but they just hit all the right notes with this k6s and I'll be carrying it with 357 in the summer. Happy to finally own it.
I'm a simple man. I see Hickok shooting a revolver, I hit Like automatically.
Imagine having him as a grandad. Awesome!
leonthesleepy I do, I just wish it were true!😂😂
When a brand new snubbie revolver has Grant Cunningham Involved in the development, you get this. Best outta the box factory trigger I’ve tried in many a year as well.
I love my K6s. It's a great firearm.
Another great video by the greatest gun spokesman on the web .
Got mine Thur from Buds. Put about 200 rds though it mostly 38 about 15 357s .As a rule not a revolver guy but I love this gun and plan on carrying it .It is a keeper!
Looks pretty good for concealed carry. Im from Puerto Rico and in here by law you have to carry concealed and I like revolvers.
Thanks to you got an Glock 26 today watching your videos help make my decision in I love it brother
Come to think of it I've gotten a few with Hickok's recommendation. . . . . 5 to be exact.
Agree Brought a P 365 he gives the best and unbiased reviews
What’s the magazine size?
The 3 Fr33m4nn extended mag has 12+1 for the 365
Mr. Ellis oh ok
Great revolver! Kimber needs to make a lightweight 38sp version with an aluminum or polymer frame.
They do!
From Chapter 36 _Power and Empire_ (Fair Use excerpt):
"At the same time, Bonnie Porcaro reached beneath the table with her right hand and drew a stainless-steel Kimber K6s .357 revolver from a simple pancake holster under her vest. The vest was stylish lightweight cotton and suited a woman of her age. It also did a nice job of hiding her sidearm-which she was seldom without.
"Bonnie had done her research, quizzing her nephew, who was a detective with the Dallas PD, and watching dozens of videos of different models on the _Hickok45_ UA-cam channel. This was the first gun and holster she’d ever owned.
"Bonnie wasn’t a gun nut any more than a person who needed a pickup and bought one for a certain purpose was a truck fanatic. She did not concern herself with all the fancy gadgets and gizmos in the firearms culture. Still, she was practical and went to the range with her girlfriends once a month, religiously presenting the weapon the same way each time she took it out of the holster at night as her instructor had taught her. The little Kimber was plenty for her needs-and she was a heck of a shot. Her nephew told her so.
[...]
"Bonnie Porcaro let the man’s silhouette blur, focusing on the Kimber’s front sight as she pressed the double-action-only trigger. Her instructor had told her over and over that slow was smooth and smooth was fast. The pistol barked twice. It was so loud on the range, but, oddly to Bonnie, it seemed to make no noise as it fired. She wasn’t even sure it had fired, and then thought maybe she’d missed if it had. The man with the flat nose just turned his head to look at her, as though he was put out by her behavior. He started to bring his gun around, but she’d already adjusted her aim and pressed the trigger again. The Kimber’s third bullet punched an almost perfect hole in the bridge of his flat nose."
Yeah, pretty cool to make a Tom Clancy novel. :-)
The only thing keeping me from having one is the price.
I had a Ruger lcr and I couldn’t hit anything with it. I love my 686 4inch. I just ordered Kimber k6, the weight should help. I feel in love with the trigger on the k6
My favorite part is when the 2L explode ... Greetings from Brazil.
Hickok that intro was the best
Indeed! A charming surprise....
We all now know hickock's gun safe combo but you would have to be suicidal to break into his home!
I just picked one up and you are 100% right. Amazing revolver and trigger is perfect.
I like guns, I like the way they look! The shiny barrel and the polished wood! I like guns, I like guns I like guns! (Steve “I like guns”)
It makes me a jolly good fellow!
But, do you like guns?
Out of all the people making videos on firearms you are my go to guy your personality is one of a kind love you bud and keep the videos coming you need your own TV show because you are the go to gun guy ❤
Dang! That's for real. I looked up the Tom Clancy book on Amazon. You're really making the big time now Mr. Hickok.
I just got the 4 inch model. What a tack driver! This is such a precision revolver it is worth the money. I was solidly impressed.
I had a little extra money and was offered a k6s introductory special at the range where I'm a member (Kimber dealer). I had never owned a Kimber, but it looked nice so I splurged. Still, I wasn't sure. Took it home cleaned it and brought it back. First shot-smooth trigger pull, crisp break, hole in dead center of the target with the next five in a very small cluster around the first. I have never shot so well with a snub nosed revolver. The k6s will win you over in six rounds less.
Man, I don't know about anyone else but, watching hickok45 shoot turns me on more than watching old Clint Eastwood cowboy movies!!
hickok45.....The man, the myth, the legend.
Although I carry a Glock 19 as an EDC, I also love revolvers. I sometimes carry the S&W 442 in .38 Special +P or a Ruger SP101 in .357. Fun video.
I ran out of hiding places in a 5 bedroom house because of these videos...at 1 time I had bought 65 guns....damn it man 45
Beautiful revolver. Would I pick it over the Ruger SP 101? Yes, if they were the same price. But they are not. About a $300 difference. That's $15 per year over a 20 year period of ownership, so that's one way to look at it. But my SP 101 will shoot a man size target at 7 yards every bit as well as the Kimber does. I chose to keep the $300 in my pocket.
I have a Ruger SP101 and I like it a lot. I just wish it held 6 rounds. It certainly seems big enough to have held 6. ??
Hickok45 does a good job talking about each gun. Nothing but the facts sir. Heck of a shot too. My first stop when researching a gun.
I'm not a revolver guy
but love this one. Excellent
for a backup. Amazing
triggers and small & slim.
{ Ankle , pocket }
My favorite carry revolver is a Charter Arms Bulldog .44 special. I feel pretty well armed with it I'm my IWB holster...
Today was the first time since this unit came out that my local gun shop had one in stock. Well now it’s in my collection and I can’t wait to send some lead down range.
I've been following Hickok45 since the early days of UA-cam when he was a hand shooting a Colt Peacemaker at a steel buffalo. I think this gentle giant taught an entire generation what a gun really is, especially in places that like to deny our civil rights, and in times that got pretty rough for our country. I'd love to see ole Hickok45 on the Joe Rogan podcast. I think Hickok would find Uncle Joe a very studious host. They're both cool guys. They really need to talk guns.
I think Colt really missed coming out with the Cobra in 38 not 357.
LIVIN CINCY Agreed, but who knows? If the Cobra is successful enough, they might revive the Python eventually.
I think it is marketing to get you to spend $1800 for a 357... First you bought a 38 for $750 then you paid a premium for the 357 when it came out.
Lets hope it is a 3" (6) shot 357 to compete with Kimber.
Yup
King Cobra coming out
No doubt
I have had a K6S for more than a year now. Great gun. But, as you said, it was expensive. Now Taurus is selling a Model 856 in .38 Special that is a 6 shot snubbie almost exactly the same size (they fit in the same holster). The street price is about $300! It has a hammer and a good trigger (though not as nice as the K6S). The build quality is good though the finish and sights on the K6S are top notch. Good video.
You are the Mr.Rodgers of firearms!!
I bought my wife a S&W model 642, had Crimson Trace laser grips and an action job done for a 3 lbs. trigger pull. Sweet little.38.
I’ve heard a bunch of people talk about quality control at Kimber and I respect the opinions. Maybe I’m lucky, but I’ve had a bunch of them and idk if I’ve ever had a malfunction. No complaints here.
I used some rubber insulator tape on my rosewood grips. Perfect. I have a set of the rubber grips you are using but makes the grip about an inch or so shorter. Not having the surface length at first distracted me but after some practice realize it really doesn't matter. Just retrain ourselves.ha.
I’ve always loved the fat rubber strip on the Taurus revolvers and wonder why other manufacturers don’t do this. It absorbs recoil immensely, especially with Casull rounds
I would still love to get this Kimber Thanks for the great vids Hickock
I love my Dads Ruger LCR with the Crimson Trace laser grip on it. I carry that revolver in a Alien Cloak holster all day. I would love to have that Kimber K6s though. I got to shoot one and the trigger is awesome on it. Also the sights are absolutely great.
Man I love ruger I have a security 6 but I hate those lcrs
Cool bro.
Kimber make fine firearms well worth the money !
You are killing me with the KY comments. "I are from Kentucky". Man I bet your in-laws or outlaws get tired of that. I don't. I love it. Love all your videos. Thanks for the review.
Thank you for sharing your well-earned understanding of firearms.
the quality of his videos have improved so much since 4 years ago
The little Kimber K6s is one of the prettiest guns out there. I watch because I’m loyal, sure, but I enjoy your commentary and I always learn something as well. I’m hoping in the middle of June (‘23) when the K6xs comes out that your shoot a few rounds through that gun and tell us what you think.
Your right. This revolver 😂 is sweet looking as a 2 inch . Great review thank you. Been watching you got years
. .
I got new kimber k6s very nice revolver 😉 and hickok45 is my grandpa 😎
I carry a K6S in nice parts of town. In bad parts of town I carry a 6 shot Taurus 856 (22 ounces!) in .38 Special ($400 less expensive). While the Taurus has a more basic fit and finish, both are great guns with great triggers. I have sold my four 5 shot S&W J-frames (though I am keeping my 3" 65-3!). Good video.
Thank you for including that car guys! Thing is bad ass!
I LIKE THAT YOU SAY WHAT YOU FEEL
not normally a fan of hammerless, but other than the price, I like it a lot
It looks like a great little revolver, but if a lot of people pay $900 for it, Smith and Wesson will take the que and start charging the same for their guns.
I too like revolvers and bought a K6S DASA, 2" and for several months it has been my everyday carry ( I love it) I did switch the grips to Hogue g-10/ 3 finger grips, only other thing I want is the nite sites
I got a few Springfield because of the videos you made in them. Will have to add a revolver!
I bought one for my girlfriend and also use as an ankle backup gun. Cost me $899.00
100% with you on the k6s with the longer barrel, looked odd.
I don't like Kimber 1911's but this snubby looks pretty well made. I heard there's no MIM parts in it unlike their 1911's
hey why not?
For what you get as far as quality and trigger, it’s not expensive. They’re only about $1000 out the door in California. Well worth it!
I’ve been looking at these , not sure yet. Thanks for the video
Im 60 but I enjoy watching having fun !
Same here, but being only 50 ;-)
Great discussion. You hit all the high points.
My k6s has replaced my carry guns, it is a great revolver. Your first video was one of many that i watched before i purchased it.
Love the video and reviews u do. Watched all your 1911 info videos. Inspired to get one myself. Thank u for your time to put them up. Question to ask. Not many people do reviews of the 300win caliber. Possible to do another review?? Not alot chatter anymore about the current rifes that are being made. Thanks again
