One of the most underrated character actors in film. Her performance in The Wizard Of Oz was masterful, from her choice of phrasing and intonation of her character's lines to her hand movements to her facial expressions - an acting tour de force! She deserves a special honorary Oscar for the incredible legacy she left in how to portray a fictional character with ultimate conviction and believability as she did in Oz. (As an aside, I have similar feelings about Frank Morgan and his deserving an honorary Oscar for his multilayered performance in the picture.)
I saw this on TCM a few weeks ago and hoped I’d find it here, so thank you very much for uploading it. You may already know that Hamilton returned to her role as the wicked witch on an episode of Sesame Street which was unseen for decades until just weeks ago. It’s here on UA-cam! I actually got to see her live in an opera (along with Fred Gwynne) in Boston. She was Public Opinion in Offenbach's Orpheus in the Underworld.
Betty Danko, the "Witch's" stand-in was also harmed in the film!
