Thank you sahil for pointing out Edmonton. I choose to live here because of the reason you mentioned. What has actually happened here is that before 2008 oil collapse the city was booming like crazy, people were earning 400k easily in the oil and gas sector that is in the year 2008. They started building a huge number of condos but financial crisis happened and the city never recovered and there was another oil crash happened in 2014. The city have currently more supply of condos and less people currently occupying the city. This is currently changing and once the supply and demand are back in balance you would see the calgary like boom in coming years. Downtown is struggling with the homeless population issue as well. All the houses that are going that cheap are that you will see homeless people rooming. The houses you pointed out are older houses with high strata fees so the city is growing in the SW side. Hope this clarifies the background why Edmonton has lower house prices. SW side is fairly priced nothing crazy expensive or cheap.
Thanks a lot for this series, it's really informative. I am in Halifax and you are absolutely right, the city is growing rapidly but the housing shortage is very high and rents are rising steadily.

As far as I'm concerned, it is a good place Low cost of living, great colleges, and enough opportunities for jobs but I don't think it will help you in pr... I mean like Sault Ste. Marie has RNIP so we can leave the place after getting pr early... But it's your choice things will be diffrent for you my choices were diffrent
Currently in 12th, plan is to goto vancouver to study diploma. Final board exams are in a month😵. What college? Will have to research after 12 I have to convince my dad too for this, feeling anxious about that.
Thank you! For sharing your hard work, this would help.
