Hey, sorry, we're a bit late - awesome to see us in the list! Thank you Tom for the words of support, we're working hard on a demo for this year and it'd be awesome to see your take on it. And like you said, being modders of the original M&B we definitely don't want to knock it. There's not nearly enough medieval mercenary/knight sim games out there so we hope people can appreciate us alongside M&B, that'd already be a massive success to us.

Ok blight survival cannot be a bannerlord killer it completely different game just because they're both medieval doesn't mean they're the same.
Not to mention the trailer really looks like a mush of assets and a basic gameplay, ever since I've seen how easy and fast it is to make a believable game trailer, all of them look fake now so ye

The game Banarlord, Skyrim, Crusader Kings 3, and others like it have something special that some games do not have, which is the library of mods and the ease of modification, creativity, and making new things every day that revive the game, so it will not die.
This is great and goes beyond Bannerlord which many channels are not doing. Your point about the base game is very valid!

From the very beginning of Bannerlord, I know I got the game nearly as soon as it went EA, the modders were the ones that made the game worth a damn. Failworlds is a disgraceful company that did next to nothing for over 2 years to make the game great. Modders fixed the siege issue where troops would just stand at the towers not willing to go up ladders and that is just one MAJOR issue that MODDERS not the Devs fixed. Disgraceful. I really hope a new medieval game comes out that has mod support and gives a damn about their game, the modders and the community.
not a knock to modders, but its easy to fix something when you are only focusing on one thing. the devs probably think its not a top issue yet, otherwise they wouldve fixed it already if plenty of people voice the issue

I'm all for more competition in this genre but so far I don't think any of the upcoming games are match for Bannerlord.
I'm most interested in Kinstrife because they're strict with mid 13th century style

Respectfully, none of these are Bannerlord killers or Mount and Blade killers. As much as I dislike Bannerlord's current direction. There's nothing still like it. Most games that copy it mainly just go for the battles or the multiplayer combat. None can bring the full package of modded gameplay, a true dynamic open world with factions and decently sized-battles. The thundering of hooves as you ride with your 50-100 or so knights, never gets old in Bannerlord or Warband. If you don't like the setting, you can just turn the game into Game of Thrones or Victorian Era. It really is one of those few genres that developers are too scared to tackle because it's actually a genre with alot of mechanics and moving parts. It's not easy to replicate a game like Mount and Blade.
Respectfully, if you're still playing mountain blade war band when you have banner Lord, you're kind of a goof . If you like doing the same thing all of the time, then yeah, you can play it. I've been playing both games for years. And the expansions and The Mods and I would rather play blight than mountain blade if I had friends. And most of the time you need mods to make banner Lord, interesting or war band anymore. If you've been planning it long enough and have explored the game enough.
I understand the video from the perspective of a youtuber and the channel but as a gamer i should say that one of these games here is from a single developer that probably end up being a clone that is specialized in medieval theme which can be modded into Bannerlord anyways, 2 of them starts intro as "you and 3 of your friends" which makes them a left4dead clone esentially, leaving only one game at the end, kinstrife, which seems nice but seems to have only similarity to the Bannerlord in the aspect of character development.

I would say Chivalry 2 was for me M&B killer but than Ireturn back to Bannerlord again and playing both now
These games have good combat. But tbh, Bannerlord's massive lore and different cultures is what will get me going.
For start give us a medieval game
With more than 5000 warriors each side on battlefield.
Id care about if the visuals look more close to warband than bannerlord
But bannerlord commanding style , more armies in sight and more natural than warband and bannerlord fight and move animations , like RDR2 for example.
Chivarly 2 is like honor knights so not this one. .
Kinstrife or VDK would be very cool examples to have as a start a Battle mode picture ..then they can place momnuments castles towns villages and customization army / soldier units. But for start we want a huge massive armies in combat as bannerlord has provided us but with natural animations not these old time classic robotic ones. Like I repeat RDR2 could be amazing. lets see.....

I would say that Manor Lord is the competitor of Total War rather than Bannerlord
Kinstrif will take down bannerlord. It takes 20+ mods to make a bannerlord play through even manageable. You add crashes and updates and waiting for mods to update..to much out there, customers tend to be impatient. Now you take a game made by modders, then improved by other modders...its gonna be gold.

Fr it is a perfect base but is too raw and basic in many aspects without mods like the economy and politics of the kingdoms.

None of these games are “threats” to Bannerlord. Bannerlord sits alone in its own category and reigns supreme. Great concepts, but threats? No.
I dont understand why everyone wants co op in bannerlord. Are people aware just how much effort and fine tuning that would take to balance? Not to mention the game nor any if its sequels ever had co op. It simply isnt a co op game. Its a very good single player game and trying to implement a shitty co op would break it.
I understand your opinion but it would open a world of opportunities and I think it would be fun to play with or against a friend.

Tale Worlds had one job. To make a game better in graphic and scale of battles and mechanics than NATIVE Warband. Native and not you mfing mod pack version
And they did. Bannerlord is 10 times better than NATIVE Warband. Their second job was to open it to MODS and leave the rest to the modders
And they also did that perfectly
SO NOW they can focus on DLC or even bannerlord 3 and leave the modders to make their game ethernal

Taleworlds game only cost me $49 and I play over 1500 hour. They are the best develop and stay with the game over 4 year! Other develop, only 2 year then abandon it which cost me over $150 with dlc.....Total W. CA is a joke develop..🤣😂
