I do love the Egress, a fantastic looking buggy. BUT, Tamiya are really taking the p*** a bit with this release, it doesn't include anything particularly special and they're charging a bloody small fortune for it too. I know that most of the people who buy this kit won't care, but it puts me off totally. Great video as always though mate, really enjoy your content!!
Hi Barry. At £520 in the UK it was a no go considering you could get a ProCat at £290 but I’d never had one and wanted the experience so i went for one as cheap as possible. Cheers for watching as always appreciate it :)
I don't blame you at all for saving a few bucks on it and saving $80 for waiting a few weeks is totally worth it! I am looking forward to seeing it built and out running around. I did not get one of these so I will enjoy seeing everyone else run theirs around!
Congrats on getting the Egress Black Edition. It’s a good looking car, but not worth the premium it is commanding. Charging way above its rrp of around £320 is a bit much.
I've just ordered an egress on amazon for 101 euro on some -77% sale, wasn't looking to upgrad from my df03 dark impact, But at that price, couldn't resist, The last 5 sold in a matter of hours, My question is, how much better is it, than a dark impact, considering its normal price is normally way more, The Egress is on the way, and will arrive in another few days, im just curious
Hi Keith , to be honest if you were to race a dark impact against a egress , the dark impact should win as it’s a way more modern designed buggy. The egress was an engineering work of art , nicely made bit of kit , but would never be the racer Tamiya wanted it to be. There’s a good 20 years of design between the egress and dark impact. Besides race pedigree the egress is way cooler looking though ;)
@@andyrobinsonrc2480 I've always found the steering to be a bit sloppy with the dark impact, loads of play here and there, I've tried to upgrade some of the mechanism with aluminium parts, think I need to look at it again, I'm just getting back into it again, have you any recommendations on a good tamiya buggy without it being crazy expensive, I'll be putting a good sensored brushless motor in the the egress with a 120A esc
Interesting to see the alternative approach to buying. I’ve not yet bought from AliExpress or BangGood, but seeing so many on UA-cam using them without issue I am about to place my first order. Keep up the good work!
That's a nice kit, Andy! It's so far the first video I've seen on it, I'll be looking forward to watch your next episodes with it! And I'm excited to see your paint job on it! If I got a piece of advice for you, do a test of the paint on the scrap lexan pieces, might be time well invested. Have a good one there, buddy!
Hello how are you hope your well. Cheers Mads great tip but I wished I’d read it earlier. To be honest I won’t know if it’s worked until the Whole cars finished and the body’s on the chassis ;) cheers though and thanks for watching
Glad to see it arrived andy, looking forward to the running vid 😁 im still in the fence about getting one, but seeing as there is another run on the Avante im more swayed to that. And she will get run on track 😎
Good luck with it Andy.
Thanks JRB, getting stuck in tomorrow ;)
Really wish I hadn't sold my 2013 Egress........ Also, good luck to all those that entered your giveaway. Roll on tomorrow

@@andyrobinsonrc2480 it goes together pretty easy, just a little hassle picking parts from all over the place with the blister packs etc.
Looks great, but does it come with a motor ??
No, no motor sadly :(
Great car Andy. Thanks for showing and have fun with the build
Hello :) hope your well build process under way started off with the body work cheers

Yeah it is a bit on the expensive side, I thought I did pretty well at £365 just with the import costs that hiked it up a bit more. Cheers :)

My favourite rc channel
There are some places online to buy this but they seem scammy. Anyone know of a good place in the USA to buy this?
In the USA I’m not so sure I’m only really familiar with tower hobbies or A-Main hobbies
Looking forward to seeing the results of the paintjob
Yeah me to , I think ;) I hope it turns out well , we shall see. Thanks for watching
awesome build, they take well to brushless motors as well.
Will start off brushed at first but if I go race it outside at the classsic next year maybe upgrade it to brushless :)
