But im also not shocked abt the fact they gave a huge reward because it was the CN players mostly complaining and those fans are crazy. People were literally killing cats because of a whole wanderer situation awhile ago, it was insanity. And now they threatened legal action. I also do genuinely hope that the Natlan issue gets fixed. I’ve also resolved to not spending any more money on the game. It’s so frustrating and disappointing.
I actually not that shocked. The CN playerbase is the biggest paying demographic of Genshin, and they bring in the most amount of money. So what they did is actually kind of logical.
Idk if Dish sees this but I hope she does. I genuinely think you should realise by now that there's no way anything is changing in Natlan. Within a SINGLE day the Neuvi problem was solved with 10 PULLS (they don't do that even for anniversary!) just because Chinese community threatened to take legal action. Literally Hoyo doesn't give a dang neither does the Chinese community about Natlan. Actually if you see the Chinese comments regarding the skin colour they're EXTREMELY racist they made American racism so bubblegum. They DON'T want darker skin tones. Idc about your examples of other Chinese gacha games but for Chinese Genshin community they genuinely don't want darker skin tones and are writing intense racist feedbacks. They want to keep the "political correctness" according to them out of China. So if you're anything but Chinese, your opinions are just gonna be twitter posts. They don't even lose that much from westerns boycotting. If not over at least 50% of the Chinese Genshin community agree with you, then it's literally pointless. As in actually pointless with 0 effect on the game. Oh and the beta is already out, my DREAMS told me that even most of the NPCs are pale white. And none of the characters changed. Aaand almost everything is already complete. So just accept that fact already and act on it. But just don't hope for "you've got 30+ days Hoyo to respond". They aren't going to.
Hi! I hear and respect your point of view. Frankly, I think you are right that no change will occur (at least with the natlan characters). Nonetheless, I still think it is worth while to express my disappointment publically and directly to hyv (which I have) as I am, even if it’s just in the west, a voice of Influence in the space. Genshin really is unprecedentedly large and popular, and that has opened it up to criticism that may have not been very loud previously in the gacha space. Even if it is publically ignored by hyv, this reaction will be documented and remembered, and could cause change in the longterm future, whether it be with a mihoyo game or something else. I know this perspective will sound foolishly optimistic to some, and I’m okay with that!

What I'm just really upset and sad about is that anyone has any hope in Hoyo themselves, or basically hoping that a few days can fix anything they don't want to fix (Neuvi problem took a day and overall 1700 primos). So Hoyo does listen, but just to very specific people and only when highly threatened. It's sad that this is a global game and it has global VAs, different cultures, RELIGIOUS inspirations yet they only care about a specific group of people that have nothing to do with the culture they're appropriating. So, Hoyo listen, but only to Chinese people and not the 5% that are staying "oh, too bad, a tan would've looked exotic". I don't want people having high expectations thinking that VAs talking about it would change anything or content creators themselves having any hope and just saying "wait for the release the have time". The beta is out, an NPC has afro hair with 3 clippers in, a PALE WHITE AS A SHEET OF PAPER npc as DREADS, most of the NPCs can act as flashlight in a cave, but still somehow people think they'll fix anything. They can within a single day, but they won't. Keep talking about it so that no one thinks this is normal or acceptable in any way, I'm Egyptian and although we're not even remotely black but still having our entire culture taken with characters that have awful kits and are just skipped or enemies that are beaten to death as representation was hilarious. But we're a hilarious nation and we battle all of our misery with comedy. However seeing the Oloron situation when it's an AFRICAN DEITY?? That people still worship till this day be a skinny white dude? What? They did something similar before you may not know it but Dish they literally called an eremite in the archon quest Rahman, when we said that no you can't call a human Rahman because that's one of God's names and exclusive to god since it means "merciful" and we only name humans Abd Al-Rahman as in "worshipper of the merciful" they obviously did nothing about that so we ignored it but now they're messing with another religion and another culture and people still think this is not intentional?? If they care about feedback they got that 2 versions ago, if they care about westerns or anyone that's not Chinese they would've changed so many things years ago, but they didn't and won't, so stop having hope or giving false hope. Hope for a change in the people's mindsets, talk about how this is wrong, how we shouldn't just invalidate people's anger especially the ones from those cultures, but I wouldn't recommend hoping that 30+ days are gonna change anything when they had 2 years. I just felt sad for you and chat when I felt like you thought Hoyo would actually do something or "respond" according to what you said, they won't, I love your Genshin gameplays and I started watching you for it. So please just enjoy the story if there's a good story and financially boycott (as doing your part and spreading awareness regardless of the fact that it won't even affect them). The genshin boycott is a financial boycott meaning no crystals, no welkin, no battle pass etc… not stop playing the game entirely.
