What the Heck Happened to Lightweight Bows (Post Update)
Вставка
- Опубліковано 14 сер 2024
- I went on a quest to find exactly what is going to give me the best feel on a lightweight bow. What I found is not what I expected. My goal in this video is to show you the observations and discoveries that I made while doing wayyyyy too much weapon testing. Basically, LW bows feel good, much better than they used to, and many Lightweights can now compete. But what should you be prioritizing on your bows to make them feel so much better? Watch till the end.

Just wanted to say that since your last video, I crafted a Tripwire Canary with Polymer String, Fiberglass Arrow Shaft, Enhanced Archer's Tempo, Enhanced Opening Shot and using the Ambush trait. Started out with it on console but switched to PC. Even before the buffs it was already great, provided I played within its effective range. But now? It's a monster! Even while I was adjusting to playing with MnK (never played any shooters on PC before) I felt the bow working with me and landing some insane shots I believe I should not have hit.
Thanks again for inspiring me to start playing with Lightweight bows, I'm deeply in love with them. I also started using Le Monarque and Ticuu's Divination again to change it up. I use Tripwire Canary on a Stasis Oathkeeper build, LeMon on a Strand Oathkeeper Build (the poison allows for double bodyshot kills, which makes it easier to player hyper aggressive with Strand for me), and Ticuu's Divination on a Frostees Solar build where I abuse Radiant to double body people. It's like a primary ammo Cloudstrike!
Im so glad i inspired you! I may have to try out those builds sounds like alot of fun! 😊😁
Tripwire my main bow lol last word/tripwire one of my fav set ups
Given the new update to bow damage in the crucible, I’d love to hear from you!
Seeing this makes me wonder what other kinds of perks are not used as intended or not fully used to what is being advertised by Bungie. I always blamed lag for my lack of hitting the target but maybe I don't suck as much as I think now.
thanks for the splashscreen info at the end, really nice
No problem!
I was going to leave a comment on your last video but you did a great job explaining how bows work. I will definitely give them another try but like I said in your last video , lw sucked back then and now I know why , I always thought because they had low accuracy they were bad compared to precision frames. I still collect lw bows but for pve. Now I'm going to have to hunt down some viable options for crucible.
Awesome man hope you get a decent roll!!
I used to stress on making sure my bows had a decent accuracy stat, but after watching this video I've focused more on draw time, even at the expense of accuracy, and you're right. My bows are just a deadly. I'm using impulse amplifier to compensate. My reasoning is, if final accuracy is all that matters, then I want my arrow to reach its target as fast as possible to avoid missing. I'm not sure if the perk is making a difference, but I'm hitting my shots.
Great to hear!
Played you a few times in trials a couple back to back two weeks ago. You were using pre-asty on solar and were nasty with it. GGs
I’ll be putting out a video out on it hopefully eventually 😂😂 ggs man !😊
Ooof! I switched from accounting major so that I myself would not have to do this level in nit picking. We thank you for your sacrifice.
Youre very welcome 😂
Man, this is a great video. I main under skin with hfire and opshot, and have been trying to use some lw bows, but am struggling a bit. Definitely gonna give them another try, gotta check the vault or what can I craft. The new seasonal bow might be nice, with impulse and I think tempo as well.
Thank you so much i really appreciate it! And i know right! There are so many possibilities now that i have too look into, i have looked at the new seasonal bows and the nee lightweight i think is nice but i just hate how they didnt give it rangefinder and temp 😂😂 (me and my preferences), the new precision on the other hand im still working on trying to get a g roll but tge dungeon is a bit challenging to farm. Anyway im thinking about just covering both bows in a video and where they sit amongst my tier list. But from what i have seen so far neither are really game changing for me. But they are def worth a try because i have the best of tge best and its really hard for these new bows to compare 😂
I waited 120 days for this upload.
Ayyyye great damn video my guy! Ahem I still don’t have my god roll Pre.Astyanax you better be using it! Whole days and not one big fella NOT ONE!
Hahaha 😂 yes i am using it
i blame the spaghetti code thats built up over time for this LOL
and honestly the upcoming "bow nerf" might just be them fixing the accuracy stat 😂😂😂
You are probably right 😂😂
anytime i see or hear “lightweight bow” all i can say is RIP spiteful fang 😢
Rip indeed 😂
Personally I chase Polymer String with Compact Arrow Shaft on every bow I want now. I already knew that Accuracy wasn't as important on Bows now since the update, but with that knowledge I also discarded Rangefinder as a good option. I'll try it out, maybe you're onto something :)
Cool cool glad to hear it!! Its really gonna change what i want too on my bows 😁
Heh,, just remembered that Fel Taradiddle gets Rangefinder in the third column, not fourth.. damnit, guess I'll wait for a good Lunulata to roll by, like the last 1.5 years.
I entirely forgot it didn't have it, since, when the crafting bug was in the game, the first thing I did was put Rangefinder onto my Fel Taradiddle's 4th column alongside Archer's Tempo... that was fun.
You can also focus gear next season and u can focus the whistlers whim now at saint
Would love to hear your thoughts on lightweights in the new PvP sandbox!
Thanks for this info. I will try using elastic string on my whistler's whim so i can hit 500 draw time since i dont have draw time masterwork. I used to put adept draw time for the mod to hit 500 draw time with polymer string. Will try elastic with adept targeting adjuster.
Youll have to lmk how that is, do note it is highly dependant on the intrinsic stat of the bow so that may be great on fel terradiddle but on whistlers maybe not so much, that is a part of the puzzle i didnt get to deeply in. Thanks for your thoughts!!
This is wacky. I was using Ticu’s in IB this week and really wrecking people and I’m just not that good lol. I used to always die before getting the follow up to explode people but I was having no problems whatsoever this week. Except with banner titans because those mf’ers are unkillable.
Hahaha titans are a bit rediculous 😂😂 and gosh i still need to play with ticuus i bet the amount of explosions are wild. Only problem is i think pvp is waaaaaayyyyyy to sweaty for me rn 😂 think skill based may be turned up to much but thats a me prob i guess 🤣🤣 gotta get worse at the game yano?
I think accuracy affects follow up shots. The first shot with any weapon goes where you aimed it. Quick follow ups may vary depending on accuracy. Using archers tempo and rapid shooting might be affected by accuracy stats. Idk tho
I was thought the same thing but even when i shot the same bows at the fastest possible rates I saw the same results. Which was really weird. I just wish we had some more clarification XD. Or I could have seen some difference but it may have been so minimal to really matter. I really dont know. All i know is that its wonky lol
arent' bows hitscan until they reach a certain (very far) range? Isn't that why the 2 bows are hitting everything the same? It still doesn't explain what accuracy does on a bow reallly...
Just because 2 weapons are "hitscan" doesnt mean they should have the same hitbox because other stuff like aim assist are different. Which is why we get differences to hitboxes in general between weapons with diff stats.
But yes accuracy on bows is very janky and i wish bungie would clarify. But how i understand it at the moment is, accuracy is how we make the given aim assist hitbox more effective. More accuracy = more effective. In theory at least. In practice aim assist does much much more. But yea thats my best assumptions based on everything i saw
I want the vow to come back with crimson days
As long as it comes with Rangefinder and Archers I would be so happy lol
Or impulse Amp
i wonder if this was deliberate or if it's spaghetti code. or something else entirely. what a crazy outcome for the proposed change, though
I know right kinda wild, I could’ve missed something tho not quite sure what tho. But I’ll take it 😂 just giving me more options to use in pvp when I’m bored 😂😁
I use Tyranny of Heaven in PvE with Wellspring and Incandescent. I know that isn't everyone else's favorite Bow but that thing is juiced up.
That’s gotta be nasty in pve, on solar warlock with sunbracers…. Everything burns 🔥🔥
@@iLessonLearned Yea. I use it with Oathkeepers on my Hunter and its nasty.
give Dragonfly Incandescent a try, you wont regret it
Yeah the dmg and flinch nerfed killed it for bows, all thanks to wish ender. Am sick of going after bows that need to decrease draw speed to be viable, bows are the only weapon that have there ttk tied to a god roll.
man im so glad that my lightweight bow can get 99 aim assist (+5 weapon mod,+10 armor mods, +10 moving target)
What bow is disss??? 😳 me has to know Nnnnowwwwwwww 😬😮😯😲😈😈
@@iLessonLearned whistlers whim (the adept can get 100 *I think* without moving target)
@@iLessonLearned also the tyranny of heaven can too with moving target and then the arsenic bite with moving target too (they're also lightweight)
Curious, your pre astyanax you run adept accuracy. Is accuracy better on precision instead of aim assist?
I actually just havent tested precisions to see whats best, but most precsion bows have aim assist stats that are similar to whistlers and are lower so accuracy isnt a bad pick because you can still try to get tge most out of your hitbox.
But great point ill have to try put adept targeting today and see how I like it 😁 thanks for the suggestion
Is there a way to farm for Imperial Needles this season?
I just looked it up, you can get them from Dares on Rotation 2
Last update, rotation 2 is next week so get ready to farm those coins
Oooooo def worth the grind
@@iLessonLearned already grinded out strange coins for reset
Aren’t you supposed to be streaming, Ilessonlearned?
Want me too??
Yes
I havent watched your stream in 1 yr 3 months and 12 days
But that’s because I couldn’t get twitch to work
Okay I will in 40 mins or so but I wont be playing destiny me because im not at my station but we will still do something fun hopefully, what you think of the vid?@@sylasgomez3714
