I went back a few hours later to see if they had any put out any more. They did not. However I did stumble upon my 1st GLASSYBABY! ($2.99) DOUBLE SCORE!!!!!!! The plate is from a company called Johann Seltmann from the German town of Vohenstrauß. They went out of business in the 90s, as did many German porcelain manufacturers. The plate is probably from the 50s. They did not put "Qualitäts-Porzellan" on it before that time. We call this type of plate "Stollenplatte". Stollen is the famous German Christmas cake you have certainly heard about. Another, more famous, porcelain manufacturer is "Seltmann Weiden", which was founded by the brother of Johann. They are still in existence today.

We bought some when in Cherokee NC and they make them from the clay in the surrounding area and put them in molds like ceramics. They might have gotten soaked in water that’s why they look rough. My turtle did that when I tried leaving it outside.

The white ceramic animal with the hat that you pulled out of the bin is a Tenuki, which is an animal related to the racoon. It is known for its very large testicles and is also in Japanese mythology as a mischievous shapeshifter, who enjoys a ggod time, but is also a bit of a derp. He's a very popular figure in Japan, and the mythological version also sometimes uses his testicles as a drum. 😅

You are right, but you have to bear in mind that for us here, especially in Bavaria, porcelain plates are much more common. We had so many companies here! I doubt this plate is from the 40s. A pre-war plate would not have survived in such a good condition. After 1945, they did not produce such fancy plates. Mid 50s is my guess. When the Wirtschaftswunder started, they were able to sell these more elaborate designs and in the beginning, they used older designs, like Art Deco.

Sometimes the swan, geese duck wood carved decoys are made of one piece of wood and other times the neck/head is a separate piece then glued together and sanded down. I couldn’t tell if that is what you we’re seeing and calling damage or if the swan was actually damaged

The Rooster butter dish (made in Italy) is from Grazia Deruta. Porcelain. Very expensive.

The wedding plaque you mentioned @ 16:00 and picked says ‘Salle à manger’ means the dining room , in French. So most probably screwed on the door or next to the door of the dining room
