Arri 650 | BMPCC 4K | Lighting Test

- One of my Arri 650w lights came in. I can already see how many more lighting possibilities just opened up for my work. The light isn't as heavy as I figured but the build is super solid. I can never seem to work soft boxes into my workflow on set. Bouncing, Diffusing with muslin fabrics, and scrimming is what I prefer. Softboxes definitely have their place though.
One thing that Ive been wanting to do is purchase harder light sources like a Forza 500 or 600d with a spot mount to help work with the sun or atleast provide me adequate enough light so that I can bring up interior exposure also so I can backlight from out of a window, but the way my money is set up....haha. This will also just allow me to add a lot more shape and dimension whether it be a day interior or a night shoot. I just couldn't look past going the tungsten route. Both of my Arri lights cost me $189. I'll have to find a budget generator to use on location but that was the only draw back for me. The lights looks great on camera even on max output spotted. I did also color the 3200k shots to look more white than tungsten to separate the 5600k shots a little more.
Testing this light in more daylight settings soon!

Not too many tests like this for the Arri 3 light kit series (150,300,650). It is usually all white walls and dark rooms and light meter results. THIS IS AWESOME! Question though, how would you power these say in a forest environment since there is obviously no vmount options lol. And do they get super super hot?
I Had to dig up couple forums and any bts I could find using it in a way that would determine whether or not it’d be a good fit for me forsure. Currently I’m in the market for a generator that’s portable and can handle atleast 1000w, most of the ones I’ve seen have been gas or electric but expensive. I got some heavy duty extension cords so hopefully my shoots on location will have power and I can just connect to household power or a car if need be. They do get hot. Just keep some good gloves on you and let the light cool down before you move or pack it up! Appreciate you for watching man! Hope it helped.
Man that looks great!
Thanks a lot!
