Printer prices can always be found using the link to the printer in the video description. The current price (01/17/2020) is $2,495 and includes 2 full sets of Dye-Sublimation Ink (8, 140 mL bottles) and 3 rolls of DS Transfer Multi-Use paper (1, 24" x 100' roll and 2, 17" x 100' rolls).
I was really wanting to see how you pressed printed on the mug you said you were doing. But you didn't show that... How do you put that on a mug without it being crushed by the press?
Is it possible to print on 100% cotton fabrics using the DS Transfer Multi-Use paper? Or is it only possible to print on polyester and polyester blend?
Absolutely, but we do strongly encourage at least once a week running a print or nozzle check at the minimum. Uses very little ink and will keep your print head primed and ready to go.
@carlosvaldez8194 This printer is for sublimation printing. The Epson T3170X is the printer that you would be the printer you would want to print with. These to printers are commonly mistaken for each other. Take a look for yourself imagingspectrum.com/products/epson-surecolor-t3170x-24-bulk-ink-desktop-printer-sct3170x?_pos=1&_sid=e38295475&_ss=r
Hi, I'm looking to print images onto aluminium and have been advised to look into printers with 9 colour ink cartridges to achieve deeper and wider tones. How does the print quality of this printer stand against other high quality competitors? Thanks
Even though we are working with a CMYK ink set the color reproduction is spectacular, especially on properly coated materials such as Chromaluxe metal panels. Of course if you ever want to see a sample don't hesitate to reach out
As with any inkjet printer we strongly recommend at least once a week running a nozzle check, very easy process, uses little ink and will keep your print head primed and ready to go.
The photo of the woman on red dress is printed with which quality of paper? It looks quite bright was it died on ceramic or a glass is added on it. Do you also ship to Malaysia?
Thanks! That was using Epson's multi-purpose transfer paper onto an aluminum panel by Chromaluxe, I definitely recommend checking out their offerings as they are gorgeous. Unfortunately we don't ship internationally though
Not technically as the F570 includes sublimation ink. Most of the screen positive printers out there will be aqueous however will not be using sublimation ink as they are trying to achieve a dense black like in the Epson T-Series printers. Arguably it can be converted with sublimation ink, but the print head was not originally designed for that ink set.
Hey Bosun, thanks for watching! You are looking at an A1 print size (23.4 x 33.1) in about 60 seconds. You can control quality vs speed so this would mean longer print times on a max quality print, but in general you should look to about a minute for a print that size, hope this helps!
Most substrates will have a template for you to use in whichever graphic editor you prefer. Just download the document and drop it into your editor to create your graphic.
Thanks for watching! Great question, everyday is certainly not necessary. My rule of thumb is running a nozzle check at least once a week just keeps everything running smooth. These are water based inks so quite manageable.
It is certainly not made for fine art printing as the ink is not rated to be archival as in Epson's P-series printers, and without the differentiation between Photo and Matte blacks you may have a tough time with fine art media to get exactly what is intended. If fine art is the focus I recommend something like Epson's 17 inch P5000 or 24 inch P7570 as you will get much more accurate colors and all of the necessary gamut for color accuracy. While those will not take care of your sublimation needs, it really is the best in fine art printing. Hope this helps!
Hi Loree, Epson does have a sublimation printer for letter and legal sized paper. it is the F170. You can find it and the media here, www.imagingspectrum.com/epson-surecolor-f170-printer-sublimation-printer-c11cj80201.html
Thanks for watching! The printer is designed for sublimation inks which works best with a transfer paper, especially the Epson DS Transfer as it was made for those inks. Were you looking into a specific transfer sheet? I know some have used Easy-Subli as well which can accept sublimation inks but onto a heat transfer vinyl material you can add to any garment. Hope this helps!
Each ink contains 140mL, it is hard to say exact numbers as size is a main factor, but with sublimation the amount used is well under 1mL generally, so this should last quite awhile. With how new the unit is I can't comment yet on lifespan. As with any inkjet, doing proper maintenance and nozzle checks will significantly extend the life.
Hey Kim, this is a dedicated unit for sublimation and cannot be used for regular prints. The Epson T3170x is the printer that will allow you to do regular prints in this form factor
Hey Affliction, thanks for watching! The cutter, works left to right and will cut your jobs as needed, it is not a contour cut like a cricut or cameo but remember anything that is white will be transparent, hope that helps!
Hello, I'm looking to perhaps buy this item to use for 3 inch round ceramic sublimation blanks (it's a personalized ornament business). What would the bottleneck be? Would it effectively be able to print about a hundred ornaments a day? Thank you!
Great question Mike. The biggest bottleneck will be a heat press. Many will use a 16x20 heat press which you could potentially fit about 30 depending on your spacing. I would suggest a jig you could put the ceramic blanks in and lining up your heat transfer so you can do multiple at a time. If you have any questions feel free to call in 214-342-9290

I want to buy a good reliable sublimation printer and have been looking around, also reading reviews. I read that the Epson printers have issues with "head clogs". Is this particular printer better for that kind of issue?
The F570 works best on apparel and textile garments that are made of 100% white polyester. For cotton, consider the www.imagingspectrum.com/epson-surecolor-f2100-we-direct-to-garment-printer.html DTG Printer
Great question! That was the LFP Accounting tool from Epson, it is a free download from their site and will tell you print cost and amount of ink used.
If I’m trying to sublimate the whole t shirt that’s 24 x 31 would that printer be enough for the size or would I need a larger format printer for all over sublimation?
I used to use an Epson ET-2550 ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxciSwynMJ7PnUvvx11rewiu-yFBkZTl53 , an early model of the ink tank style. It worked well, but had one nuisance that drove me up the wall; if you didn't put it in high quality print mode you'd get a streak across the page. I'm happy to say I have yet to see this with this printer. The print quality has been fantastic so far, the set up was super easy. All in all I'm very happy with this printer.
removing the transfer after pressing is done wrong in the video, you should remove it in a gentle way, not yanking it off like you show. Remove it in such a way, the paper does not smudge the print, just imagine the picture is still wet.
Absolutely, there are some great options out there if you need to press onto a dark shirt or cotton. Either sublimate to a patch you add to the shirt or print and cut to achieve a contoured look
LaRuth Anderson no i have a sublimation printer and can’t not transfer on dark color only light color and it has to be minimum 65% polyester you can’t sublimate on 100% cotton won’t work
Great Question! Yes you can, however, any color will take on the hue of the color underneath so it won't be quite as vibrant or color accurate as starting with a white base. Black prints work great, and lighter color shirts are better (ex: light pink vs dark red) but just be aware it will affect the color of your final product.
well at over 2k doubt this will be a big seller, when you can get even better and the same print quality using a cheap printer using sublimation inks lol
