I get such interesting questions in the comments sections of my videos and often don’t have the time to reply to them all, so I wanted to make a video answering some of the ones I might have missed. There are also a few questions that come up often and I wanted to try and give a more in depth answer to those. I chat a bit about how I got started as an artist, what I do to deal with self doubt and some approaches that I’ve found useful for solving common problems. I really enjoyed making this video and would love to know what you think!

Jono Dry is one of the most skilled pencil artists and most underated on UA-cam.
Yes , we should help him as much as we can.

Man who disliked this video is surely from a non artist field

Confucius say man who doesn’t like this video shouldn’t watch this video
Or Allergic to Graphite
It was by mistake😆😆
I think it was one the who just put masking fluid

My brother is such a big fan of yours, you inspire him everyday he watches your videos like day and night.
Thanks for inspiring everyone ❤️
God bless you, love your work.
I love people with deep voice, but deep voiced people always sounds arrogant and people with high pitched voice sounds humble. But Jono is the only person I've seen with a deeper and a humble voice/personality. Favourite person.
That's so kind! Thanks so much
You are really great artist.... Love from India ♥
Even with that talent, he's still humble. Good job to you Jono Dry💖💖
Thank you so much 😊
Your honesty in answering the crowd questions is quite touching.
Your art is exquisite.
Your acknowledgement of luck is honest.
All this is needed in an artist
Jono dry saying *I do pencil drawings* is like superman saying *I'm just a mere human* .

That's so good to hear! Thanks so much for the support😊
@@JonoDry OMG i don't even believe that you replied sir. thank you so much ❤️
I was curious about how you would answer the age question. I'm 48 and a novice artist, still just getting my feet wet. I feel like I have something inside me that I have a need and passion to express. Whenever I am creating, that something trickles out and I feel purpose and I totally get lost in what I'm doing. I want that dam to break wide open. Your videos inspire me! Your works inspire me! I think I need to go draw now. Have a wonderfully creative day everyone!
I'm rewatching every jono videos 3:59 is the most charming thing I've seen all day
When your next master piece is coming....we r waiting for the video❤️❤️

This is so amazing for an artist like you talking about procrastination and self doubt
Finally, an artist that thinks like me when it comes to "talent". It all comes down to hard work and long hours. Yet, people still believe that we artists create something stunning as if it was nothing. Jono, you are good at what you do because you have spent all that time working at it and you are a true inspiration to me and other artists. Thank you for being so sincere in answering these questions. You are the best!
I wish YT videos follow this level of usefulness, clarity and beauty.
I am glad you are here.
Thank you! ♥️
Waiting for this video 😭
Huge thank you to jono dry for taking art to another level 🙏👏 it gives me inspiration to focus and work more on my drawings 🥰 thank yo so much
Thank you so much for your kind words! I'm really glad it's been helpful😊
Hi dd I hope u remember me even he is mine inspiration
That was best transition into an add for square space 😂😂😂
I totally agree...it’s never too late. Like you, I have never studied art, but was always drawing as a child and into my teens. I made choices in my life that took me in another direction and only now, as I’m about to turn 59, do I find myself getting back my artistic mojo.
I have found your art and videos inspiring and informative. I love your work and upon seeing it I instantly thought ‘this is the kind of work I might have done had I kept going all those years ago’. I’m not one for dwelling on the past or thinking ‘if only I’d done this or that’, that time has gone. I’m just grateful that I can still produce art, though not anything like your work 🙇🏼, and there are people like you out there willing to share their work and experiences to help and encourage people like me to keep at it. A huge thank you Jono.
As in most things in life there are at least two ways to succeed, firstly raw talent, and an eye for detail, second sheer hard work and dedication. I am reminded of two British golfers, Sandy Lyle and Nick Faldo, Lyle naturally gifted and relaxed, Faldo living on the driving range hitting ball after ball till His hands bled, made himself into a five major title champion, Lyle only won the one Masters.
Patreon Jono, that’s a good place to start
Every time i'm not in the mood to draw, i just watch some of your videos and immediately get the inspiration to draw for days. Thank you very much Jono Dry. Keep going, you are the best!
Funny enough I came to youtube looking for this and it drops literally seconds after looking for it.
Thanks, man! I love your work and you are one of my favorites artists.
Saludos desde México
Haha, I am Hungarian as well as Barcsay and his Anatomy book was one of the first books about art my mother gave me when I was a kid. It was a requirement to have it at University of Arts so it was handy to own one. Glad to hear that you consider it as your favourite art book. Your works are amazing!
Thank you SO much Jono!!!!
You are the best!!!
You area very humble young man. I love your artwork and in awe of the level of detail you put into each piece. Keep them coming please!
More videos, Jono !! It is such a pleasure to listen to you and see your process. Please keep them coming
Thank you for answering these questions, they really helped with my concerns too. Very helpful.
U r one true artist. Love your attitude and your demeanor. I follow you. Thanks for being an inspiration
Procrastination is often linked to a desire for perfection. Anxiety arises from fear of missing it. It can be crippling and a walk or doing a less intimidating drawing exercise can break the pattern, as long as you come back to whatever you were procrastinating (or you’ll train yourself to keep avoiding similar situations!). Break it down into manageable chunks, and don’t think too far ahead. Also tell yourself that no one and nothing is truly perfect and doing the best you can is always better than doing nothing. 🕊❤️
That's a really lovely way to look at it. Thanks so much for sharing this insight!
Great video Jono! It's good to learn more about you. I've recently started drawing (I'm doing an online drawing course), and I'm so excited to keep progressing.

discovering your channel is like finding secret treasure in a place clattered with mess. you inspire me so much to better myself as an artist and I really aspire to reach or even exceed your level someday
You inspire me so much thank you 👌👍💕
Jono, thank you. You've inspired me so much with this talk. I've desperately needed to create more discipline in my daily routine, but just needed a push, and this is it.
This is why it's so crucial that artists band together in some way and communicate. We are not like the others. And in ways that are not easily described, we need validation and support from each other, to remind ourselves we're not the only person in the world whose life goal is to create something from nothing.
I love them all...
Your arts are amazing
I did pencil art too but so hard to make the detail like yours..
Good job dude... 👍
Jono Dry is so human, so humble, so genuine, i love his art and personality, true craftsmanship, inspire me to work hard as an aspiring artist

You effectively touched on quite a number of v germaine topics for me.
The bit about ‘never too late’ is so right on for this elderly gent.

In gratitude, achille
ps I have a great deal of appreciation of you, and of your work.
Thank you so much for your kind words! It's so inspiring to hear that! Really appreciate your support and thank you for reaching out.
I just wanna say that your at works are wonderful, amazing 👏❤ . I saw your videos few days ago and watched, it really inspired me and made me to work harder on my art work. Still I am 14 , have school work to do but drawing is just always in first place in my heart. I started pencil drawing two years ago and I really see a big progress of my work now. And I think I do a quite good job for my age but still do lots of mistakes. I wanna thank you for sharing your technics with us, It helped me to realise my mistakes and learn more. A huge fan from philippines😃
Thanks for the video
Most best humble artist
I am from India, Kerala... great inspiration... following from the moment heard about you.
Really great video! Always so inspiring Jono, you’ve convinced me to return to graphite after quite a long break. Also, I know you’re probably sick of all the questions, but if you had time I was wondering how you go about doing the really detailed parts of your drawings? I often become too overwhelmed when I reach a part that feels chaotic because of the detail and end up not drawing that section as well as I could.
I dont know the words to say how amazing your works are, i am trying to recreate one of your work "pupil". Though its very hard i will be finishing it soon.
Love from India🇮🇳
That was wonderful
Thank u
You are so inspiring!!!
Awesome Video!
The calm before the storm...that's gonna be the story of this guy's career. Love the drawings! Maybe I'll invest in one someday
Thanks for inspiration to keep drawing ❤️
I agree, I think art needs to be interpreted by the viewer. It keeps each viewers experience intimate and unique, and I love how thought provoking your work is
Thanks for the video! You didn't answer my question directly but I saw the scene where you are indeed fixing your drawing, thanks!
Thanks a lot!
Jono, I hope you have another Q&A session soon. I would love to hear about the influence your mother had on you as an artist. I’ll definitely sign up if you create a more in depth members channel.
He does not give as many tricks and real time demonstrations but the unusual tips he gives just help a lot
Wise words, good philosophy. Just started drawing at 50, and I'm shit
I’m rediscovering my passion for art after 25 years of basically being dormant. It’s mostly due to being recently hired to teach high school art classes, but it’s reignited things I haven’t felt since back in the day. It hasn’t been easy trying to do things that were once 2nd nature after years of neglect, but I’m enjoying the challenge. Your work is amazing, but I particularly enjoy how you provide feedback and answer questions. Both help to inspire and motivate me. I can only hope I’m ever close enough to see your work in exhibit someday. Take Care
I loved the music ❤️
Your work is amazing, and this video was so helpful, i dont graphite draw but paint, but your work is amazing and im always fascinated.
Thank you so much 😀
Love your artwork ❤❤ hope you'll get endless success.
Love from INDIA
Love all your videos, great advice and guidance. I would like to see a real time video of say 30 minutes to demonstrate a realistic speed that we should expect. I know you wouldn’t cover a great deal in 30 minute but would demonstrate how you achieve such accuracy and detail. You must have plenty of footage to choose from.
Your are a good artist and your my fav artist , I inspired your art work
Ive admired your work for so long. you are absolutely AMAZING!!!!!! One of the things that frustrates me sometimes is that after seeing a great Artist such as yourself, i go through a wave of emotions. I feel really good and motivated to strive for anything that even remotely resembles your efforts, but then after a few trials and errors i get discouraged. I am overwhelmingly sensitive when it comes to art, always comparing myself to other artists even though im just learning.
It can be so difficult to overcome self doubt, I struggle with it too. It's important to remember that each person has a unique perspective and you just have to keep aiming to translate that onto the page. Keep it up and don't get disheartened!
This video is really motivative for me as an artist
