The Amazing Di-Rect:

Pretty sure Mikke still doesn’t know what sex is.
I only kow that using a good knife is better than it
@@velazquezarmouries Don't combine the two!
Martin showed him
One of my sons is 4 years old and I bought him a Mora Scout. It took him 2 cuts in thumb to realise how to handle a sharp scandi grind knife.....love you guys
Robert Neumann . I got my oldest girl the mora scout went she turned 5. She really use it, you know making spears fishing rod etc, etc. it a really good knife @morascout
had my fair share of cuts from knives but the worst was when i stabbed the palm of my hand with a mail opener when i was around 9 years old
At the age of four I got a chisel and Hammer and some wood
@Johan Pire this is an amazing comment
My dad has a massive fear of snakes so when we went camping he'd send me and my brothers out with machetes to "clear the camp" as he called it. Been doing it since I was 7. He wouldnt go out in the woods without backup. Lol
You guys should run a bushcraft camp for kids. Best counselors ever.
You have essentially summed up my parenting style. My daughter has enough scars on her at 5 from playgrounds and climbing trees. So long as she doesn't open up an artery, we're good. And yes I'm considering the Schnitzel as a 6th birthday present 🤣
Did you get it? My daughter is 5 and loves all things outdoors, thinking of getting her something like this for next summer
@@jaysee2213 I didn't in the end, can't remember why now! She does have a Swiss Army knife instead though
Thank you! I'll keep pondering it. She has told everyone in the world that she has managed to make fire with a ferro rod and a knife so I feel like she is ready and interested
50 EUR knife for a kid? That’s generous.
I bought my son Mora Pro S when he was 8 and I think this is much better kid knife.
It has a rubberized handle, much more efficient finger guard, short blade easy to control and price below 10 EUR, so no grief when lost. When he was 10, I upgraded him with mora robust.
I started with a basic 546 instead.
I mean maybe, but they even said its going to last longer than the moras would. Plus itll teach them not to lose things. If they do just dont get them another, their loss
Dude the song on this one is GROOVY.
It’s called “ Nothing to loose” by DI-RECT
Yeah there were two Di-Rect songs in this vid, don't know the second one though
@@benevolentrevenant474 it's called Ricochet
Over protecting kids makes them fearful and self defeating. Letting them hurt themselves and learn from their mistakes makes them grow.
Definitely agree with that. You see how your kid is using the spoon, fork, knife at home, at the meal. You teach him how to hold a table knife, how to avoid cuts, to keep it safe and not jump around with it. And then, my father let me use his knives while camping, only when he was watching. You see when the kid stop being stupid with it and give him a real knife. Because it is not the missing point that will make the difference if the kid falls on it. And it is actually easier to cut yourself with a dull knife than a sharp one...
It was close, but after much testing and thought I'm going to have to stay with my Bark River Bravo 2 in CPM 3V
I was so happy because I live in Nebraska and I saw someone wearing one of your shirts. DBK ALL THE WAY!!
Lol, i recently saw dbk bag in Chelyabinsk, Russia
Dbk is really all yhe way!
7:42 Best fake laugh in history!
Great video and a great review of an unknown knife. This is what we want. Keep it up chaps.
I have two kids, 7 and 5. Both have learned to handle an outdoor knife at 4. In my opinion there are some very good reasons for dedicated kids knives: 1. The handle needs to be much smaller for the small hands of kids. 2. My younger son can be very clumsy and the lack of a sharp tip just give a lot more security.
I was expecting Matt Graham to magically appear once the flute started playing.
One of my first knives was an Ontario machete. Had it since I was 10.
Hello Spartan
Awesome, which blade you have? I got the short Ontario machete first, used it for a decade then bought the long one. The shorter one is similar to a big survival knife for me, and the longer is the perfect brushcutter =D
Damn dbk actualy got a sponser
OMG! Schnitzel DU is awesome!!! That's the knife that I've been looking for whole my life... I must buy it for my son's 10th birthday, and maybe one extra piece for myself😇
☆Tnx 4 all your funny videos☆
“DO YOU MEAN IT!?” 😂
I bought it for my daughter, a she loves it. It is pretty solid and you can resharpen it pretty easy. And pretty well made, too.
0:50 you killed me laughting xDddd I dont even know what sex is xDDDDD
RIP
not sure how this is a kids knife, but it sure as hell is a superb knife! 14c28n and g10? thats awesome! 14c28n is a super underrated steel together with aeb-l! i love this thing its a garberg killer for me! insta bought!
It’s like the small version of the of the Swiss army fixed blade except with better steel and at half the price.
Since 9 years old I have my Swiss army Victorinox and I'm pretty sure that it is something that every kid or teenager should own, I know it is not always very practical, sometimes you can hurt yourself, but most importantly, it stimulates your creativity, you can do basically everything with one and that is amazing
Basically, we're all big kids! So it's made for us! :p
Hmmmm, he's 5 now an his Mora is to big for his hand.... Guess I'll just have to get him one😉
My son is nearly 4 and he can use the mora companion, try the hultafors plumbers knife, it's very thin handled, or the mora eldris, it's short but might be a bit too stubby. The plumbers knife is great for smaller hands.
@@londiniumarmoury7037 the comment although truthful, was mostly for the comedy in my heaed. The Mora we bought when he was still in the womb😉. I rebuilt my old #1 and put a smaller maple burle handle it for him two weeks ago. So I was justifieing buying yet another knife for me. Truth be told.😜
DBK. YOU'RE THE BEST.
That intro killed me. Thank you guys for being you
You guys make some of the best bushcraft videos on the planet
Even for sponsors you put great effort into your videos that's so nice from you guys thank you!
DBK reviews a kids knive
Also DBK in the first seconds of the review 4:19
I love you guys :D
I thought exactly the same
Wooohooo! 🤘🏼DBK ALL THE WAY!
My 10yo boy has a victorinox tinker and loves it, but he's always eyeing my knives. This might be a great compromise.
you guys should make a pod cast about knifes and bush craft, maybe talk about subjects that you cant make a whole video about and questions people have
Another great vid. Also, many thanks for turning me on to Di-rect, probably would've never known about them if you guys didn't use their music.
I just found my first knife on my dads coffee table. It's a Cammilous rigging knife. The one with a blade on one end and a spike on the other. As a kid I thought it was a radical punching spike but later on realized that it's for tying knots. I still don't know how to use it to tie a knots, but I bet if I punch something with it it'll still be pretty bad a**. Oh yeah and my dad doesn't know how to sharpen because it looks like he raked the sides of the blade across a bench grinder. Still pretty cool. I thought that thing was long gone.
Is it a marlin spike? The marlin spike hitch is my favourite knot that's not a knot because its a hitch and its not a knot but not being a knot does knot make it any less knotty.
Everybody that hears these videos in the backround is like wtf.
Yeah, imagine someone in the background hearing : Are you trying to fuck me daddy?...I can imagine some people might find that strange :) Have to say that I find these guys a lot funnier than the crap I see on TV nowadays.
With all the knife testing, both legs must be shaven by now.
By the way, there is a similar knife with a blunt tip, made by the same company. It is called Unu. Blade is made of 8cr13mov instead of Sandvik 14c28n, but otherwise similar.
Your videos are NEVER boring.
Best knife review channel hands down.
This will be perfect for my daughter's 3rd birthday!
I was in the boy scouts when I was young, we got that standaard swiss pocket knife as usual, not too big pretty decent and a lot of functions (a kid wouldn't even use though) but a fixed blade knife is so much safer for cutting stuff. The amount of times that shitty pocket knife wasn't cutting it, pun intended, and cut me or buckled etc. I can't count those times that happened. These kind of knifes are way safer. Sharp, easy to handle work well and if it weren't for me making my own knifes, if I had a kid he would get something similar around his 12th birthday.
I keep forgetting funny these videos are when Mickey plays a child.
Edc fixed blade ...Much better than the Esee 3&4 IMHO.
Nice i want a fried chicken breast knife now. That fire strike was nuts that thing was a spark thrower forget striking up close you can start a fire from 5ft away
yes you all have good knives, I used a kitchen knife, when I was young to process the fish that my friends and I caught in the river and it was fun, even though the knife is not very sharp
Great video and a great knife! That fire steel scraping was amazing! Really nice, sturdy looking knife.
Excellent as usual 😉👍🏻
Hi guys, great show. Here in the UK we tend to call kids knives - 'Spoons'. 😀👍
Gets me in such a great mood every god damn time I watch a new upload!
Lekker bezig lui..nu nog wachten op de kids
most parent worry about kids falling that could do real harm if sharp great work guys love all your content
I think the mora wood carving junior is the best kids knife, has a tip and also a finger guard
Nice word play with Schnizel and schnitzen!
man that knife looked solid i might have to get it. another great vid guys!
Ga zo door gasten ik lach me kapot iedere keer weer ;)
The company now also released a bigger version, The Schnitzel TRI, adult version.... ;D
These videos are great keep it up dbk wish you the best
its for kids 10 and more years old. So, I am almost 33 and its means i can buy it for myself! Well, DBK, you help me choose my birthday gift from myself one more time! thank you!
I think that good knives for a child are Marttiini junior (condor or deluxe) and partiopuukko (scout's knife). I personally have Marttiini Pioneeri (Trailblazer) and Kromijätkä (Lumberjack stainless). They are also cheap, durable, and good for overall use. My dad says that practical knife for everyday use, can open a pack of sausages easily, and for example Cold steels Recon tanto ain't one of them. I also own an Mora 511, I'm 12 and I'm from Finland. That mayby explains why I like Marttiini knives very much.
ready to cook schnitzel from the store? man! I always had to make it from scratch.
Will you please ever review the PKS kephart knife? I know the delivery time will be very long but I would just like it very much to see a review in your style of it.
I will get this knife x2 or xX. I will keep one to myself and ones I will have a son I will show to him all tricks of how to use a knife in save way and what not to do with a blade.
And after all risk assestments and confirmations of capability I will give him that knife. Maybe he will say: "Dad, I want a bigger one". But it is not a problem, having Schnicel in my collection I will feel like a kid. And from where the best memories come...from childhood🙂
Awesome review, interesting knife, will get one soon👍🙂
"there's no plant!"
"Plant my ass on this chair" 😂😂
Looks like a great knife. You guys are sick puppies in a good way. Good initial review. take care. Make some Cowboy coffee.
Now looking at it it's like a Mora pro s with the same steel as the garberg
You guys crack me up always a good time
Очень круто!!!! Действительно парни выкладываются в каждом ролике!
So we should buy this fire steel scraper that happens to have an edge lol 10/10
These guys r funny af
Eyup Lad
Oh yeah gotta love those soggy fries there 😂 wrong sort of potato my guys 🫡
Im throwing all my falkniven, bark rivers, busse, esee, etc. Away then.
Ofc bloody schnitzel knife xD this my new ringtone thx alot
gouwe filmpjes gasten, echt top!
You two are crazy 🤣
I am also a big advocate for kids hurting themselves. It builds character
Mickey is een echte marketing man geworden
This episode should be named cooking schnitzel with a schnitzel
I remember getting my first puukko when i was 6
Your meals always look so delicious my gosh
Это супер . Класс !! Вы замечательные , обожаю вас.
I am a 16 years old kid with a BK2 lol
When I was 16 I'd already been working for a year and wasn't considered a kid. How times have changed
No need for Schnitzel. Mora is in my heart. Four big burning letters. 😆
I'd love to see you test my favourite, super budget knife, the cold steel bushman. They're cheap, but so much fun. I'd love to see what you make of it because I've had one for about 10 years.❤
We’re not a huge fan of the steel! But maybe in the future we’ll have a good reason to review it and it will surprise us (like cold steel has done already a few times before)
@@DutchBushcraftKnives I'd have to agree on the steel. I have a number of fairly decent knives although none of the super high end ones, but the one thing I love about my bushman bowie is it's unique design. I've got to be honest, when I bought it I wasn't expecting much but it really surprised me, and I've not seen any better knife that becomes a spear. It always made me wonder what kind of knife it would be if someone made it in a really high end steel. To be honest, even though the steel's not the best, it's just one of my absolute favourites. Ooh, and it's a brilliant thrower. Keep up the good work boys, best knife review channel on the internet. ❤
You guys are hilarious!
Amazing video once again
I got myself 3 Schnitzels! One unu and two DU's... UNU and one DU for my little one when old enough... and one for me... because iam a bloody kid myself
I think I’ll get one of these for myself.
The kid in me wants one.
Lol you guys are frigin hilarious 😂
The Best Intro Is Here Guys! :)
That BB almost went right back and hit you 😮
Beanie & Cecil hat 😂
I taught that kid everything he knows. Prove me wrong.
I would use it and keep it as a back up even in the car
It's interesting that so many can have so wrong about mora knives..
Nice gun you have there daddy 😂
Mikke.... get a haircut man!!!!
Also, when you gonna look at a Spyderco Shaman?? The upcoming ZWear/micarta would be a proper one to grab....
Why?! Why are you giving knives to baby goats?! 🐐
Me a 6 years old: "12 inch kitchen knife, what could go wrong mum"
9 years old: "I guess its time to make one now"
13: "Cold steel here we come!"
Its only got worse since....
NOICEEE!
