Yeah because Steve invented the internal combustion engine... So that makes him an expert at everything. A smart person is ALWAYS open to new ideas regardless of where they come from (do you honestly think half of the engineering in this engine is his???). I spotted one thing that could be improved in the video, did you see it? or were you too caught up seeing the sun shine out of his bum.
You're one of the best engine builders in the world, there is no reason for you to even adress the people who haven't even changed a plug. You do you man, love the content, just don't let nobodies get to you 🤟
As a vintage watch restorer, I appreciate your attention to details and surface quality finishes. Your CNC blocks remind me of old Geneva pocket watch 'Perlage'. It was a aesthetic finish applied to watch components to add depth and brilliance; but VERY hard to accomplish.
Watch restoration is so satisfying to watch, when the movement kicks into life after you've done all that work must be an amazing feeling. You could make videos about what you do and upload them, I'd definitely subscribe
It amazes me that given the fact this motor grenaded itself, that there are ANY usable parts. The intro was a little pervy, but I get it - she has served you well. Tells ya' something ( a LOT ) about your design. Great video and thanks for the updates.
The porno theme had me in shambles. It's incredible you could save as many parts as you did. Must be an amazing engine. The message at the end made me very happy.
Nothing quite so satisfying as spinning over the assembly and hearing that all cylinders make the same ring tension sound. Had a builder tell me once he listens to that to see if the gaps and tensions were set right.
Absolutely crazy ain’t it…with my luck all the valves woulda looked like question marks and had to be hammered out and all new guides and probably seats lol
The intake and valve covers are my least favorite bit, but that comes down to personal preferences. It's kind of different, and that is never a bad thing. Steve is definitely an out of the box thinker, which is what makes his videos so interesting.
Do you realise Steve that your content is better than any other content out there on the net in this field of work and play, I've never seen anything else that even approaches the level of technical expertise, tech information, secret race engine tricks and knowledge exposed here for all to see and in addition just pure exciting entertainment that your channel provides on the racing side of things. I'm a race car engine builder myself now retired and I've done a lot of similar work myself but to a much smaller extent so this stuff is like life to me! so I thank you Sir for what you put out there for others to see and experience and wish you good luck in all things and above all God Speed my friend (on the track)
If Steve Morris uses a 5lb sledge to seat and a slide hammer to remove cylinder sleeves, well by golly that's the RIGHT WAY to do it!!! Thanks for the awesome videos. We are not worthy!!!
Thank you for saving your skills on video for all to enjoy and use! I have learned a ton! I'm not a motor builder but I am a engineer. You sir a are a master in every sense of the word! I tip my hat to you!
Steve thanks so much for taking us on this journey and answering all are questions. It blows my mind how serviceable these engines are. I'm a service writer and everything in my world is so disposable now day's.
Your work is amazing . Still can't believe they're are people who talk shit about you and your work. If you were a surgeon I would let you fix my body any time. Keep up the great videos ❤️❤️❤️
that sleve thing is cool less parts on the shelf and superb extra locating locking multi purpose loe your videos cant afford it so its great to see the inside tech from a master builder , also love the wagon if anyone ever said thier would be one of those driven on the street and run your times woul have told them to kick rocks. i like what nelson does but your smx is as important to drag and drive as the hemi is to top fuel, just about the time you think its all done you come along ty you mr morris and so kind to us gearheads that get a glimpse of the genious you have created thank you
great advert at the end steve, if only i had the money to have you build me a VW T4 aircooled engine for my 356 coupe. Great video's though, love your content, super knowledgeable. Thank you for your time and insights in to what you do 👍
I've had wet sleeves harder to remove than those dry ones 🤣 That said if you had the sleeve pre counter bored to clear the valve it would just about be a track side repair. Very nice
It was already. I was looking at that in the video and probably half the reason he indexes the sleeves. To be honest I am a little surprised that it wasn't hand finished because it has a sharp lip on it, but I guess on alcohol it may not be as detrimental as it might be on other fuels. Not sure if the valves are cantered and he might have been able to taper it a bit. The push rods are on an angle not sure if the valves are.
That is one sexy beast of a motor, cant wait to see the numbers she turns. great work its always a pleasure watching your videos and receiving a piece of your knowledge.
Man what a great set of videos.. most of us regular fellers would never get to see such a beautiful piece of engineering up close.. thanks Steve for taking the time to let us into your world
Awesome being able to machine from billet. Imagine doing a 2" taller deck block, increasing stroke by an inch and using stronger pistons and longer rods... 6000hp? 😃
Hey Steve , I'm thinking you made the right choice on the aesthetics of the block . It turned out 100% better , even though we know it didn't add more power .
@@danmyers9372 that is a very interesting point. While there was little externally to be seen, some of the fanboys on this channel are driven by looks and wow it cost how much, because they have absolutely no idea about engineering. And while the roughness on the inside would make almost zero difference to performance, to them they would equate the rough finish to somehow being an inferior product. Since Steve has basically made himself a UA-cam product, he needs to do things most of us might not even bother doing (I would I have OCD and it would drive me nuts) but it was completely unnecessary to make it run again.
Steve, its always a pleasure watching your videos. Your motors are such a step above all the others in beauty and performance. And the way you brought this one back was incredible! Great job!!
Steve After watching many of your videos I have to say WOW. You sir definitely have your poop in a group. Your engines are almost as impressive as you’re skills. As a engine builder myself I can relate and understand everything that’s in your videos and love your no drama common sense approach. Thank you keep ‘em coming.
Wow, just wow.... 3k+hp, 40 something passes, 8 second slips, and add road driven miles!!! Amazing setup however, once again SMX engines are unreal.... Thank you Mr Steve for your DEDICATION......
I don't wrench on cars, I don't do metal work. But there is something mesmerizing about watching chips fly. I'd love to see the decking, the line honing. Maybe the mechanics here appreciate the time lapse assembly. But throw in some footage of that cutter spinning, please?
My daughter as I watched the video kept asking why is there love music playing!! HAHA!! Nice job making it look like a jewel. You didn't need to do that but you did. Can't wait for your car to go uber fast. I loved the ending!! It said you want to make love to your engine!! Come have us build it!! TRUE!!!!
Thank god people like yourself get your hands on machines like this and develop this stuff! It’s entertaining as hell, and it makes for fun times with heavy footed drivers. What a pretty chunk of aluminum!
Quite a testament to metallurgy of block n heads . I’ve found that rear main seals leak from saddle area. Underneath seal a little ultra silicone on seal registers and at part line solved problems of leaking . Otherwise damn nice job !
Educated madness we all love it 💯 this by far has to be the coolest series yet, the knowledge and experience poured into this has been amazing, your certainly getting the hang of this video malarkey. Not only a engineer but a fab presenter too 👍👍👍
What an awesome video, Steve! So happy to see the SMX back together. I loved watching the entire build process, and how you brought that incredible engine back to life. Next stop - Dyno time!!
You didn't sacrifice quality, but still got this done in a relatively short period of time. Yes Steve. Love your blocks they fell the love. J Swap Jason.

Sexay!!!!! Oh Yeah!!!!!🤪😂🤣 Awesome repair Steve. Love how you hit all the critical points and just cleaned up the rest.👌 I've seen a few of your engines and you do amazing work.🤙
Nice to see it back together. After a pistion and then a complete rod delete, she is truly custom, one of a kind design. May not all have been needed but so much more impressive with it cleaned up. Thats some beautiful art right there 💪
Not sure if Steve ever pokes through the comments, but I am a hot rodder, biker, and motorsports enthusiast. I have lots of toys and started using Chemical Guys washes and quick detailer. I highly recommend for shining up engines. The stuff is amazing. I have no affiliation with that company. I just saw where ypu were wiping down the engine and I was out detailing my engines this morning, made me think to share that. Sorry to ramble. -Bud
I love how people keep giving you advice on how to work on a engine you designed. Truly amazes me 🤣
Yeah incredible. Hire them at once, lol.
I don’t understand how so many places are hiring and no one wants to work, but they seem to know it all on the internet…
Right it blows my mind.
Yep, the parallel is telling Rembrandt that he doesn't know how to mix paint.

Absolutely
Without question

I’d love to have you guys build me a engine 😭 why do I have to be poor lol thanks for sharing buddy always love watching
Don't forget to factor in the 10 pounds of boost the camera adds when you dyno the motor.
Look forward to seeing that baby on a pass again, glad your baby is back Steve!
You are definitely in violation of some kinda UA-cam law "naughty content" with that intro.
That's just a little bit of @PuddinsFabShop content
The way he stroked that wood he should start a OnlyFans

It's a testament to your design that the block isn't scrap. I would have expected it to be twisted with the amount of force from the rods exploding.

I don't know what you're cranking out more of....engines or videos... good work, Steve
A man and his billet engine is a thing of beauty 😆 thats a badass engine glad it's back together your designs on your engine are above all.
You wipe down your engine like I wipe down my boat. Inch by inch with TLC. Your ethic is the real deal.
Amazing work on cleaning up that block. It just goes to show the time and expertise you put into all of your machining. Hats off to you sir
I agree 💯%
@@bryanluntz1603 same here.
It's awesome that you left some of the marks in the block, it has a story to tell and it's one heck of a story that it has survived to tell👌
This is the best reality TV over the air or any where on the Internet. Love your channel and attention to details

So much knowledge and talent. It would definitely be a dream job to work for Steve.
The music while polishing the wood was so funny I couldn’t stop laughing.
Steve you’re hilarious, keep up the excellent informative content! You’re the king of engine building and I’ve learned a ton from you.
Like the 4-stud crank journals. Built to take power. Thanks for showing this engine.
Didn't see any studs in the journals.
Glad you enjoyed it
Nothing quite so satisfying as spinning over the assembly and hearing that all cylinders make the same ring tension sound. Had a builder tell me once he listens to that to see if the gaps and tensions were set right.
Pride in his work! I think she's going to perform better than before!!.
8500rpm rod mixer and no head valve guide damage?? WHAT A HEAD!!! NICE DESIGN!
8500rpm piston blender

I started just by looking at Part 1 to see if it was interesting or not. Wow.....this was fantastic! Thanks!
That 70s porn music 🎶 when rubbing the baddest motor ever... Priceless Steve Morris 🤣
I just love how free people are with someone else’s time and money.
I love the intake hat and valve covers match the car.
That is one sweet motor. You sir have some mad skills.
Not as much as Steve does , he almost went full brokeback mountain on the engine after that erotic polish job he was putting on that thing! LOL
