I Remember farming talismans in this game, looking up tables and changing the clock on my pc just to get to the right table for hours on end, good times😂
New mh have more options to clubber monsters But no improvement to their movements whatsoever They cannt retaliate while down or enrage after a certain threshold
Yeah, the more I compare new MH to old MH I notice how much more the monsters attacks fits the old games more than the new. Of course, new monsters do get improved monster designs and attacks, but old monsters are often semi-stuck to what they were given and are suffering because of it. Which is also why MH4U and Gen are so good games, simply because the devs had perfected the balance between hunters and monsters. The new more fluid movements of the hunters disturbed that entire balance, and now the devs have to look for new ways to give the monsters an edge so that the monsters can actually feel dangerous again while not feeling unfair (as in no more mhfu Plesioth hitboxes).
Monster AI is far smoother in the newer games, they don't do things like take 90 degree turns before being able to actually face you and they'll spend less time attacking air due to their inability to track you at times, a lot of monsters also got their movesets tweaked slightly because of this and several monsters like primordial malzeno is just a fight that would not have been possible in the old MH framework, also in gen5 monsters enrage ALL the time, you actively want them to be enraged all the time thanks to skills like agitator and embolden, while in the older games monster being enraged often meant you had little to no opening windows to attack them at times.
