- After months on hiatus spent working on his new book, Eddie returns with another episode of the podcast. This month, Eddie looks at the idea of Holy Wells in Ireland. He explores their origins in pagan worship and how they were assimilated into Christian culture over time. He speaks of some of the strange customs that visitors to the well would enact, from tying ribbons to nearby trees to circling the well clockwise three times. He also lists all the potential ailments that might find relief and treatment from the waters of the holy well. This episode is kindly supported by Creative Ireland.

Hi Eddie saw a notification that your put up another video, went to watch it and it said that the video was private. Is that meant?
It'll be out this Wednesday, Emilie. Thanks.
@@tellmeastorypodcastwithedd7774 thanks Eddie! I organise a "bring your own story" circle for well being on a Wednesday night now and I tell everyone about you first in my reccomendations for story tellers that comfort and raise the mood because your by far and away the best in the game in my humble opinion
This episode reminds me of using the Ouija Board about 8 years ago now. It started warning us about what it calls the "Battle of the Trees". It went on to explain that we need to get ready...because the Fairies are pretty pissed at mankind. And that we were going to see wicked weather and even plagues and shortages of resources that would lead to wars among humans fighting over resources. Me being me....I laughed. I wasn't about to quit my $1000/ night job over this. Well...needless to say that choice would later be taken out of my hands when I lost that job and had to go to my parents farm for lockdown. Now I leave milk out for the Cat-Sidhe every Samhain and Beltane. And I'm learning to plant my own food like the Ouija told me to do!
1000 a night. What are you, a Hooker? 😁
@@4cormacos I wish. lol I drove tank armor from one Department of Defense to another...General Dynamics and all that.
