Dear Jimothy, You made mention that Reshiram is the box legendary of White version. I believe you have been bamboozled. Zekrom is the White version box legendary while Reshiram is the Black version legendary. I believe the two employed this deceptive tactic in order to undermine your credibility. Take care and know that some Pokémon can be Pranksters even if they don’t have the ability. Edit: I said Tricksters instead of Pranksters. It appears I was successfully pranked and tricked.
@HuneeBruh he may have terastilized into another type that isn't dark to reap the benefits, maybe to fire, so that he could be immune to burns from the comment section

i would like to think that ho-oh is a "switch" legendary. this is due to the fact that when switching, ho-oh gains 33% of its health back due to the "regenerator" ability.
@hairyteeth2449 actually, the average horse has around 15 horsepower, and calyrex ice rider is ice and can so use the reduced fraction to slide around very humorously, further increasing its power.
@ No, you’re referring to the change to a dynamic speed priority bracket that appeared in gen 8. In gen 6 mega evolutions wouldn’t have their new speed stat (if it changed at all) until the next turn after mega evolving. In gen 7 tho they changed it so that megas immediately get access to their new speed the turn they mega evolve
34:35 Shadow Shield cannot be bypassed by moves or abilities, this includes Moongeist Beam, Sunsteel Strike, Photon Geyser, Light that burns the Sky, along with Mold Breaker, Teravolt, and Turboblaze (same holds true for Prism Armor and Full Metal Body)
My main complaint is just thinking Mewtwo should be higher. There's no denying he's fallen off in the recent gens but Gen 1 Mewtwo's power level is so unfathomably high even by the modern standards of powercreep that I believe it would be banned to AG if directly ported to the current Gen 9 Ubers metagame. It has an effective BST of 744, has the most broken boosting move of all time with Gen 1 Amnesia functioning as a double Calm Mind, and sports a Psychic that has a 33% chance of dropping both Special Attack and Special Defense by 1 stage. Imagine all of that nonsense paired with Tera, I find it difficult to believe such a mon would remain legal for long. While Mewtwo lacks the honor of having created AG like Mega Ray, Ubers in Gen 1 was basically the first iteration of AG: a tier created entirely to isolate Mewtwo and Mew from the rest of the roster. Overall I really enjoyed this video, I'm a big fan of these theoretical what if ranking style videos. Would love to see something like this for the greatest mons in OU history (and how Zapdos is the goat)
I agree that with these merits you’re absolutely right but the same Pokémon he ranked higher would often also share the same benefits if they were found in gen 1. Mewtwo fell off a bit now but with ZA reintroducing megas, it’s not a stretch that mega evolution could be the returning battle mechanic of gen 10. I can only imagine the king’s rise if that’s the case
It really is amazing how different the formats are where zamazenta is still one of the worst restricted mons in singles and last vgc format there were tournaments in which it was the most used of all restricted mons.
I will never forget the one, singular, genuine instance I've had where I found a legitimate competitive niche for reshiram and I was so proud of it for a long time. It was during gen 8 anything goes and zacian of course was a complete terror, so I made a set that acted as a scarf lure that could switch in on a resisted behemoth blade with ease, had enough defence to tank a play rough, and outsped and ohkoed with blue flare, and it almost always worked like a charm because everyone using zacian in anything goes was GREEDYYYYYYYY they never even considered that something might be able to outspeed them.
The official name for these legendaries are “restricted legendaries” as they are often not allowed in most single player battle modes and in most VGC formats. EDIT: Should’ve watched the video for 5 more seconds.
I completely disregard pretty much every "official" term for categories that gf makes because "mythical" is a meaningless term for actually battling and they really like sending garbage like regigigas to restricted jail
@@pikminman13 Mythical is one of the more well defined terms. It means a mon who can’t be obtained in game without an event or another game. (Except Deoxys)
as an Ubers UU player, the rankings are all really crazy to me. Kyurem-White, Reshiram, and Dialga-Origin are all unviable in the tier, and Necrozma-Dawn-Wings is banned for being too powerful. Good rankings overall tho
The mega ray is almost understated here. Using an item isnt just strong but the massive issue its strong AND unpredictable. Choice band, set up and mixed are all equally viable and the check to one is complete fodder for another. The stats are crazy enough before boosted by life orb or choice band, or earning free turns with lum and you have to respect ALL of these. It has a massive advantage over zacian being able to lure far more things. Good luck using anything to deal with dragon ascent when it launches a massive life orb draco meteor onto your physical check. You cannot design a mega ray check that will ever work reliably, its only slight weakneas is that its often forced to run the already amazing extreme speed so it cant even be revenge killed reliably, which isnt even really a weakness when it loves having the move It doesnt even need to mega evolve immediately because unlike groudon and kyogre, Air lock ignores the effects of primal weather too so primal groudon cant switch in to replace your delta stream and be immune to waterfalls until you have already mega evolved. So it also just so happens to get a free turn while deterring the second best pokemon in the format from trying to come in on it
Similarly to the competitive restrictions given to box legendaries, Jimothy restricted my windpipe after I referred to the new gen 10 Pokémon game (Muk Monday) as mid, lame even, I will never recover
You’ve contaminated my mind, I’ve internally started pronouncing it groodon as well even though I know it’s completely wrong. Someday I’ll get you for this
35:49 In gen 8, I thought it was useless, never even gave it a chance. Now that im playing showdown, its one of the main mons i use in gen 9 ubers cuz of how strong it is. I agree with the top result Jimothy, best mon ever.
50:25 Jim, would you say that Groodon's Groond typing is a distraction from the true origins of its name, which is the fact that it causes great wounds?
dear jimothy, Reshiram is still pretty underwhelming in ubers uu, it can hit magearna but so can Gouging fire, Arceus-Dragon preban and kyurem white, the pokemons it has to compete with, it just gets outclassed in almost any area, even for a special fire stab abuser u have Chi-Yu, which is just better overwall
Groudon being that high makes sense. It’s the Lando T of Ubers. Yeah it’s everywhere, but it’s everywhere cuz it helps counter broken bullshit that usually gets banned to begin with
Even if Miraidon gets a little bit more damage than Koraidon, I hate having to switch to set Electric Terrain back up in case someone sends in Rillaboom, Indeedee, or even Galarian Weezing. If there were mons that could set Electric Terrain back up, it wouldn't be so bad, but there's none. Prankster mons like Tornadus and Whimsicott are able to immediately set Sunny Day back up if rain is in effect, meaning Koraidon doesn't have to switch in and out constantly. Choice Band does also help it deal as much damage as Miraidon with Specs.
It's a shame they didnt give origin dialga and palkia new abilities. even giving them levitate like giratina (since they also float in battle) would be better than pressure or telepathy. plus I think a lot of older legendaries need their signature moves buffed to 100% accuracy to better compete with the new legendaries.
I mostly agree with the top tiers of this list but I will also add that gen 9 natdex is an active metagame, and primal groudon is indeed a top pokemon in that tier. however, that's in the context of mega-ray, caly-s, mirai, and korai all being banned. what's also really interesting is xerneas being banned from natdex ubers, because of tera geomancy, earning a completely free turn basically. I think taking into account natdex ubers for a tierlist like this to sort out the best of the best might be one way to go about it, because that's truly a "yeah they can't normally play in the same tier because of generational gimmicks but what if they could" situation
I wouldn’t be surprised if someone at Game Freak looks at which Legendaries in each pair of new ones is better than the other and helps balance them in future games accordingly. For example, Kyogre was probably better than Groudon in Gens 3 through 5, but Groudon has the better Primal form in Gens 6 and 7. For another example, Lunala is better than Solgaleo, but then Dusk Mane Necrozma got better than Dawn Wings Necrozma due to Prism Armor’s mechanics.
All things considered, the Necrozma Dawn-Wings type Pokemon appears to be nothing more than a glorified version of the Pokemon Zubat. I was surprised that this important detail did not find a place in this video. Disappointing.
I know its main gimmick is Stellar Tera type, but imo Terapagos base form should have had a Ground/Fairy typing. It's unique and responds defensively to both Koraidon and Miraidon.
