I've just got my first Jeep, 2006 WK Grand Cherokee with Quadra Drive II. Such a relaxing car to drive, much more comfortable than my current electric daily driver.
I just bought one, super clean. Hemi, limited, QD2 and it keeps amazing me every time I take it off road. I am in love with this thing, just waiting for it to start letting me down :-)
Love it. I've got a wj diesel, which gets plenty off road action, using an Aussie lokka, goes everywhere. I bought a black wk overland diesel after watching this video. Love em. Black ones to nice to off road as of yet..
Great Video. Excellent examples of driving off road. Good to see people that don't flog the crap out of their 4x4s unnecessarily and drive at good speed, following good lines. Yes the CRD had tyre issues; but overall, as far as the CRD Vs Hemi goes; I think they were pretty evenly matched off road. Both had capable drivers and both didn't need to be over-revved to achieve their goals. Yes, the Hemi sounds awesome, but the CRD is no slouch, as most diesels have proven. I'll call it a tie based on the capability of both vehicles including ride height/clearance and torque being up to and achieving the challenge. Once again, good to see some respect for the vehicle without doing damage.
awesome vid, not quite your usual Patrol on 40s lol. BUT love seeing these stout Grand Cherokees out driving some beautiful terrain, and doing what most people wouldn't think they're capable of conquering as well. Nice driving skills helps as well. AND love the QD2 locker fix in part 1!
Once again a fantastic video.. You've made up my mind, I'm buying a wk. l have a low miles wj I just gave to my son, and bought a new wk2 to replace the one he wrecked. I'm going to start shopping today. Thank you.
Love the run out audio snippets on these filums. So, we never really decided which was best of the two did we? The CRD has "shit" tyres (hahaha!), but seemed to work most of the time in spite of that. The HEMI sounds amazing, and seemed more "relaxed" about the stuff it was pointed at. So for me, HEMI win.. Thanks for making these, I get quite excited when a notification pops up!
Thank you so much for taking the time to write a decent comment 👍 Glad you're excited with the notifications 😉 Also glad you like the end screens, they certainly put a smile on my face if I can hold myself from bursting into laughter 😂 Yeah, in regards to the CRD's tyres, we noticed after the trip that his rear diff solenoid wiring connector was disconnected (probably by the HEMI driver - jokes) 😂😂
Another awesome video. What did the drivers think about the downhill trip? Was there a difference? I loved the spotter saying "Slowly, slowly." I thought I had clicked the wrong sort of video. Did you fix that solenoid connection properly. The Hemi driver just looked a bit shifty. (jokes) And seriously? I think 'tracks' is a bit of a stretch. The only difference between the bush and these 'tracks' is a lack of trees. (left hand down.. Ohhh $hit!)
HAHAHAHA 😂😂😂 I so *LOVE* your comments. Was just sitting with mates and reading them from the earliest videos you started commenting to this latest one, and having an awesome laugh 😂 Thanks for that 👍👍👍 *LEGEND!* Really appreciated.
Great video guys - is the Hemi running some aftermarket mufflers or a full system. Sounds great. The diesel is nice too - my father has a black CRD, stock - geez they bloody move too. Cheers
Amazing drivers. I enjoyed video very much. Apart from disconnecting front sway bar, lift kits and wheels/tires what other mods do you have in your cars?? Thanks!
Both have catch cans. The HEMI had adjustable trailing arms with Johnny Joints. The CRD since this video has the front Saguaro bumper with a winch, custom rear bumper with recovery points, separately wired front and rear locking diffs via switches, Nissan Patrol trailing arms bushings, rear coil retainers, removable mud flaps. To see some of those details, watch this video: ua-cam.com/video/NNEVTpkGytg/v-deo.html
Yeah, they are stock UCA's. That's what you use with the Superlift. We've only replaced the ball joints once, so no issues besides the normal wear and tear.

cool videos as always. why he said CRD tyres are shit ? are they bad for rocks or too wide or something else bad with them ? that hemi just sounds so sweet , but any of those cars are great for those kinda things i guess.
Glad you liked it 😊 He said they were shit because had no traction, without knowing the rear diff wasn't locking. Now that we fixed it, he's keen to give it another go and see what difference it'll make.
