Hey Aaron, why does my size keep changing? I haven’t updated yet, but one minute it’s 1.28GB - the next minute it’s 7.46GB and I can’t download it? What’s the deal?
My only issue with iOS 17.6 is the heating problem. Whenever I charge my iPhone 15PM, it generally heats up after a minute of charging, while my 13PM doesn't get hot running on iOS 17.5.1.
17.6 working fine on my 14plus..but yes 17.5.1 did sucked like hell..took 9% battery health in just 4month due to abrupt and excessive heating😢..earlier in 3months just 2% drop was there.
It’s not that abnormal to be using 2TB of 4TB especially when used to backup all of one’s Apple devices plus family members -> Note that he has family members on his iCloud storage using ~40% of the total. I’m using 1.6TB of 4TB, of which 1TB is for all documents/important content from my Mac Studio, iPad Pro, iPhone and the remaining 600MB by the rest of my family for their devices (3 iPhones, 2 MacBook Air, 2 iPads).
You are my Apple Guru! I do not install any update on my devices until I know your recommendation concerning the update. This means, unfortunately, I have to go to the end of your video, search to try to find the spot where you give your “ Thumbs up, Thumbs down” on the update. I then update all my devices and start your video over so I can follow along and learn what’s new. I wish you would give your assessment at the beginning of the video where it’s easy to find, then I could upload everything and follow along. Thanks for providing such valuable guidance to Apple users.

This finally seemed to have fixed the flash light issue for me! When I used it and just slightly moved the phone, it would turn right off (icon still showed it should be on). I thought I dropped my phone too many times.
The alarm bug still persists. I’ve overslept multiple times because of it. Every night i go through every alarm to make sure it’s turned on but the next morning it just won’t play a sound on my iPhone 15 pro
During the update, my iPhone 11 got stuck in the loading screen and I had to force restart it. After that, the update seemed to be installed successfully.
I've noticed an issue with iOS 17.6.1 and MacOS 14.6.1. WiFi connections are problematic at times where Safari will report "no internet connection". This also causes issues with ApplePay when used online - transactions fail to complete, etc. iPad OS 17.6.1 seems to still be working just fine. Hopefully 17.6.2 will resolve this.
13PM user here. Battery is good, but the unlocking animation is kinda choppy, sometimes there’s a trail Not smooth like before In my opinion Its still smoother on IOS15
Hi Aron, a thing that just won't be resolved is the keyboard lag. When i type in my language it sometimes freezes, but in english it seems ok. Also you should test pro motion in certain apps like instagram or facebook, where the adaptive refresh rate certainly does not do a very good job. Testing it on the app library isn't a relevant test

MY CAMERA IS NOT WORKING, hard reset helps once ( sometimes ) and then its back to black, if it’s not black it shows your view and then freezes I was only able to snap one photo after trying several times with these issues I was surprised I was even able to get one photo taken after days of struggling but back to the same problem once again my camera worked just fine before this and it seems a lot of other people are having the same problems so it’s definitely not a issue with the phone or camera itself if everyone is developing this issue after updating their phone like a lawsuit since they are charging customers money to fix the inside of the phone even though it’s happening after updating
Hey There is a major issue/bug in ios 18 public beta, that are 1. If you zoom in a photo which taken form iPhone 15 or later that picture gets more vibrant and unnatural way it behaves 2. When you are taking a portrait photo in iphone 15pro max you can see the screen getting slightly glitched and pixel cut out during taking a photo one the screen itself, when you click shutter button this glitch happens Please do check this once it is very much abnormal For a public beta this has never happened before - India
Hi there, my iPhone 14 pro is literally on fire after this update! On mobile data it´s even worse, instant heat up! I have already restart the phone like 20 times, reinstall everything, nothing seems to work as the battery health went down from 94 to 91 in a few days. Unreal how good battery life is on ios 17 compared to 18. I know it’s in beta but I just went back to 17 from a horrible 18.1 and i’m staying until the 18 public release 🤘🏼
Why the zoom is now locked? You can no longer zoom from 0.5 to 1x to 5x zoom lens. If you start the video in 0.5 lens, it is stuck there it will not switch to 1X and 5x lenses. If you start in 1X, it will only zoom up to 3x, it will not switch to 5X lens. And if you start recording video in 5x lens, it is just stuck there. What happened, it was not like that before. You can freely zoom out to 0.5X to 5X lens before
After having two screens on a MacBook Air blacked out over large parts of the display from gentle usage I have ordered a non Apple laptop for the first time and I'm 53. My iPhone 15 pro is excellent though.
On my 13PM, 17.6.1 runs pretty well. Battery is ok, I didn’t notice a bigger drain and heating is not as bad as before 17.6. Everything runs smooth and fast. Rly great so far.
I installed the update straight away on my 15 pro 512gb. It instantly made my Waze and Apple maps show an incorrect gps location. It shows me about 10 minutes drive away. I usually find Waze has the odd bug such as lack of their speedometer after an update, but Apple maps usually works whilst Waze make an update. It is pretty annoying when your sat nav is unsure of your location. I get a full 5 bar signal on 5g. A great channel Aaron and always first for me to show an update has launched. Thank you for your time and efforts.
My husband just updated to this version and it made every app unusable. And the phone calls do not work at all. I could go into labor any day now and he works an hour away, so this is so frustrating.
Hello, when i updated my iPad recently, it went into recovery mode. and since then ive been trying to get it out of it. i'm using the itunes app on my pc, and everytime i update or restore it, it goes back into the recovery screen. And it doesn't help that all my buttons on the side is stuck, because i dropped my iPad. Any solutions?
After 17.6 I've noticed more issues: 1. With editing a photo. Once you start editing, everything else hangs except the done button. You cannot "Cancel" the edit or "revert to original" as it says there. 2. Another issue is with the media in iMessages. No matter how many times I open media in one chat. and delete the ones I don't need, those and a lot more from the past that I deleted months ago, come back like it was never deleted. 3. Digital Clock on home screen often disappears and reappears.
I hope this fixes the keyboard bugs. I have an i15plus and since iOS 17.1~2 my keyboard crashes out of the blue. Sometimes it doesn't show up, sometimes I can type, but the text doesn't appear. It is annoying.
My iPhone 15 pro max battery life got so much worse after this update, when I was at 230 cycles on iOS 17.4 battery was 98% now I’m on iOS 17.6.1 and my battery life is 96% with a cycle count of 249.
I've had a good overall experience with iOS 17. I've kept it updated with very few bugs in my use case. Been sticking to Monterey on the iMac as it's the last supported OS. and while OCLP works, I've found I use programs that work better on older versions of macOS and you'd only really notice the issues if you have to use accessibility features such as zoom. I also find I don't need the latest version of macOS to do the Apple specific things I still do. I have an install of Kubuntu 24.04 on an external drive, that works as an excellent dual boot, and alternative OS for my needs.
17.6 iPad OS defiantly had a battery bug. I run the iPad Pro M4 13” 1TB and updated the day it was released. But just watched my battery go from 45% to 5% in an hour with the brightness down to 10%. That would normally give me 5 to 6 hours under those conditions and what I was doing. Hopefully some of those bug fixes in 17.6.1 fixes it.
Good video Aaron however I have found issues with iOS 17 and iOS18 betas whereby after I enable and use VPN and then disable VPN my internet connection is lost (no data) even though I am connected to my home wifi and there is data available to other devices, also my cell data is available but even that doesn’t provide me any internet data. The only way to fix this bug is to restart phone and magically the internet connection comes back to normal. I can repeat this all the time on my iphone 13pro. BTW when it gets into this mode, if i turn on VPN again I can get some internet data again but not all apps see the internet. Can you try on your device with various builds to see if you can get this same issue? Thanks…
On iOS 16.6 on 14 Pro Max automatic brightness is going crazy outside on the sun for the first time since I have the phone… it doesn’t dim or brighten slowly… it just skips different brightness every few seconds
Apple screwed up the App Store. Previously to see/find what apps needed updating I just clicked on my profile picture in the top right corner and scroll down to find firstly all apps that need updating followed by installed apps. Now it only shows all apps installed and previously installed apps in a list and doesn’t show if any apps need updating.

The advanced data protection was turned off for me and I couldn’t turn it on with 17.6 I wrote you a few weeks ago about an issue with my camera. 17.6 seemed to have fixed that too.

I have an XS and it’s been terrible after the last update. I know it’s old but it’s lagging like crazy and heating up. Plus the battery life is terrible (more than it already was). Hopefully this update fixes…something.

My "hey siri" won't call the contacts that are in my phone. Instead it calls random numbers...so annyoing! I've been to the Apple genius bar and they were blown away.
Faster but battery life is well down on my xr. There's also a quirk that means my appstore always gets stuck on the final app update. I have to restart and it's fine to go. This issue also appears on my iphone 14.
I think since iOS 17 came out I've been having connection problems all the time, i.e., I often find that I have a few bars of cell signal and if I put it in airplane mode and wait a few seconds before disabling it then it comes back properly and even surfs at the right speed....as if the phone forgets to select the right cell/frequency/bandwidth.
A bug I have noticed after installing this new software is that as soon as I "plug" in any ear or headphones into my 15+ ,I get that blue voice control screen that I have to swipe up about 3-4 times to get of. And it always happens as soon as soon as I plug in ANY head or ear phones. to my phone. Anyone else experience this snafu since installing the latest software on their iPhones?
I had a problem with my iPad.. I was going from 17.6 to 17.6.1 and it died with an error 2002.. I ended up disconnecting the iPad from my pc.. rebooting my pc.. rebooting the iPad (hold down the top of screen button until the apple shows.. releasing.. get the recovery screen.. (little pc with a cable going toward it). Then connect the iPad to the pc.. then start the iTunes.. it offered to download the update.. all came back…. Phew ! Ps.. my iPhone did the update no problem

My iOS 17.6.1 has been awful I have had more WiFi issues on this version than any before. One moment I’m downloading at 500+ mobs and the next I’m barely getting 5, this is ridiculous that I can’t use WiFi in my own home and have to use cellular in order to download my app updates because apple can’t get their modem firmware updates correct
Mine since 17.5 have a bug that yet to be fixed by apple.. they recognized the issue as i had lodge a feedback.. my screen unable to wake up for notifications. Regardless native or 3rd party.. still waiting for the fix.. apple only mentioned, they have potentially identified the issue and it will be fix during future updates😅

just try restore the ios or revert to ios 17.5.1 , honestly 17.6 has issue the scrolling sometimes stuttering on apps like fb or else ,
same. my 15PM gets super hot while charging.

try a reset all settings, usually this fixes most of issues left from many ios updates

I am having a lot better battery life on iOS 18 Public Beta 3. The first 2 betas were terrible on the battery, but beta 3 has been really good so far.

Actually how you rollbacked to 17 from 18. For me 17.6.1 is not showing in the software updates while I’m using 18.1. Can you help me with this.

I have been having issues with my alarm being silent. Updating to this update now so will see whether that has sorted that out or not
What’s helped me is I stopped using the alarm clock that was tied to sleep mode. I set a separate alarm and it comes in loud and clear.

Reboot. It should be working ok, but usually that fixes issues if you have them.

On iOS 16.6 on 14 Pro Max automatic brightness is going crazy outside on the sun for the first time since I have the phone… it doesn’t dim or brighten slowly… it just skips different brightness every few seconds
Apple screwed up the App Store. Previously to see/find what apps needed updating I just clicked on my profile picture in the top right corner and scroll down to find firstly all apps that need updating followed by installed apps. Now it only shows all apps installed and previously installed apps in a list and doesn’t show if any apps need updating.
Just installed 17.6.1.....GeekBench 6 scores of 2815 Single, and 7089 Multicore. Iphone 15 Pro. Have Beta IOS 18 Public Beta test 3 ready.......worth it?
The advanced data protection was turned off for me and I couldn’t turn it on with 17.6 I wrote you a few weeks ago about an issue with my camera. 17.6 seemed to have fixed that too.
After 17.5.1 i dunno if i should update to this, it was a nightmare and 17.6 is really smooth
Yeah same here. UI is running smoother now and I won’t update since I’m facing no issues.
same here 17.6 is must better ..then 17.5.1.. so wont gonna update at any cost.

I had a 13pro and got 'white screen' after updating to ios17.5. Now I have a 14pro but still worried if I'll get that WHITE/GREEN SCREEN issue after updating...Therefore I'm not going to update...Please make a video on this WHITE/GREEN SCREEN issue after updating...

I have an XS and it’s been terrible after the last update. I know it’s old but it’s lagging like crazy and heating up. Plus the battery life is terrible (more than it already was). Hopefully this update fixes…something.

But I have a problem, after updating my phone the camera is blurry and make some static noise and I tried everything to repair and now I’ll just wait to do the next update maybe it will be better

Just updated and still got the Standby bug. It still won’t allow me to change colors.
My "hey siri" won't call the contacts that are in my phone. Instead it calls random numbers...so annyoing! I've been to the Apple genius bar and they were blown away.
SIRI is not responding when in lock mode it only responds when press home button..
Mac still crashes when going to sleep under Sonoma 14.6.1.
Mac restarts on its own.

Standby bug still persists for me too,Apple seriously need to deal with this wallpaper bug already how long does it take to correct lol been years.
Faster but battery life is well down on my xr. There's also a quirk that means my appstore always gets stuck on the final app update. I have to restart and it's fine to go. This issue also appears on my iphone 14.
I think since iOS 17 came out I've been having connection problems all the time, i.e., I often find that I have a few bars of cell signal and if I put it in airplane mode and wait a few seconds before disabling it then it comes back properly and even surfs at the right speed....as if the phone forgets to select the right cell/frequency/bandwidth.
A bug I have noticed after installing this new software is that as soon as I "plug" in any ear or headphones into my 15+ ,I get that blue voice control screen that I have to swipe up about 3-4 times to get of.
And it always happens as soon as soon as I plug in ANY head or ear phones. to my phone.
Anyone else experience this snafu since installing the latest software on their iPhones?

My iPhone 11 Pro had horrendous battery drain on 17.6, the only thing that stopped it was turning on low power mode. My 14 Pro on 17.6 was rock solid.
I hope this fixes the "Cannot verify payment information" issue I have been having adding my new card since I have updated to 17.6.

Everything is smooth and battery is better on 17.6.1 for my 13PM.
I had a problem with my iPad.. I was going from 17.6 to 17.6.1 and it died with an error 2002.. I ended up disconnecting the iPad from my pc.. rebooting my pc.. rebooting the iPad (hold down the top of screen button until the apple shows.. releasing.. get the recovery screen.. (little pc with a cable going toward it). Then connect the iPad to the pc.. then start the iTunes.. it offered to download the update.. all came back…. Phew ! Ps.. my iPhone did the update no problem
I have noticed the iPad Pro M1 2021 would get too hot at 80% of charge also.
Same here, A14 Air 4 still has to pause a bit right when it gets to 80% first according to my usb C power meter

And USB Liquid Detection os I think it is the battery that is forming the bubbles inside the iPad/

My iOS 17.6.1 has been awful I have had more WiFi issues on this version than any before. One moment I’m downloading at 500+ mobs and the next I’m barely getting 5, this is ridiculous that I can’t use WiFi in my own home and have to use cellular in order to download my app updates because apple can’t get their modem firmware updates correct
Alarm bug is still there….standby bug is also there…wallpaper bug…seems complex for Apple to fix…
Bluetooth still stutters like a cd. Just on 15 pro max. Never had a problem on any other phone EVER!!!!!!

Mine since 17.5 have a bug that yet to be fixed by apple.. they recognized the issue as i had lodge a feedback.. my screen unable to wake up for notifications. Regardless native or 3rd party.. still waiting for the fix.. apple only mentioned, they have potentially identified the issue and it will be fix during future updates😅
