I just learned tonight, that a C8 Z51 actually has larger rear half axle shafts and splines.... chevy doesn't advertise a lot of the little extras involved in the Z51 option. The Z51 also has more "aggressive" gearing in the trans compared to the base C8 coupe. If you do the math on the final drive ratio and apply it to the older corvettes.... it would be similar to a 3.73 rear end gear ratio vs the factory 3.42
Is it possible for you to NOT touch the car and just enjoy it? The Z had room for improvement agreed but the C8? Man just enjoy driving it and not turn it into another project car. Just my 02
