Lol @ people who probably weren’t even born when this was recorded commenting on the tempo. This is Broadway ...they know exactly what they’re doing boo ...thank you! 🙄🙄🙄

One tiny but significant difference between the original and the revival was that in the original, Dorothy called Evillene "Mrs. Witch" (as a term of respect for an older woman), but in the revival, she called her "Miss Witch", which was more accurate, but I don't think carries as much respect.
I thought you were referencing this newest revival, which is much different and many people say much worse than the original. But see you posted this comment three years ago.

@@tpettaway Listen to the songs on Spotify. Both the 1979 and the 2015 version. You can clearly hear what the original tempo is in both. :) This is damn fast, haha
@@johnlyndsay Yes, Spotify. I'd take the recording over a live-version because in the recording, someone important has clearly made a decision about the tempo, something that isn't done live. :) AND in my humble opinion, I just think this sounds rushed and way too fast.

Good Lord, who chose the tempo for this performance?! Outstanding job by the cast, but it's paced way too fast. Hope they slow it back down when it returns to Broadway in 2023!
I highly doubt they’d find a cast who can produce such an amazing performance at this high of rate and energy! The talent this took to pull off is long gone Imo. I just don’t think people today are as naturally talented as once.. the current style and expectation from society has caused so much dimmed down talent

Right and you have to think 75 and 84 are two different eras so technology had advanced by then so of course it wouldn’t sound the same…
STEPHANIE IS GETTING DOWN....AND TO BE ABLE TO DANCE LIKE THAT AND SING AT THE SAME TIME IS HARD TO DO....TRUE TALENT!!
My grandmother took me to see this when I was little. Brought back sum of my favorite memories fell in luv with Broadway after seeing this.
Stephanie is as awesome as EVER! But let's not sleep on that soprano in the ensemble hitting those soaring notes over the chorus at the end. wow.
RIP Luther...if you know....you know!
