  • S&P Global Ratings' Anthony Walker says it is expected that the government will announce a “small surplus” for the federal budget.
The looming federal budget will need to strike the right balance between providing cost of living relief and not loading up Australian consumers and businesses with too much extra cash.
Excess cash could trigger a spending spree in the September quarter.
From a fiscal perspective, Australia’s credit rating remains AAA.
Mr Walker told Sky News Australia that the fiscal challenges right now are “not that challenging”.

The tax department should stop taxing Australians for Medicare because albosleezy made sure to destroy the last free thing for poor Australians. Now, each and every GP charges a minimum 40$ on top of the Medicare . I'm not paying Medicare tax, and I will deduct it from my tax . Put me in jail, I'm sick of it

Australia reaps more taxes from tobacco, and HECS, than from our LNG., and We’re the largest exporter of LNG on the planet. Qatar gets $27 billion in tax revenues for an LNG export that nets us $800,000.

It seems that Anthony may have knowingly, or unknowingly, consumed magic mushrooms over recent days as he is clearly hallucinating. I would advise him not to handle sharp objects or hot food until he gets to a doctor

Looks like someone at Sky News has discovered a solution to the fiscal conundrum. Just post every story twice in a row so Australians can read two for the price of one .. Hooray!
