12 days ago i played a game, and i got BSOD and the game uninstalled and i got BSOD after that when my PC loaded, Safe Mode was on and the Red X is on the WiFi icon and i watched on yt how to turn off safe mode and the red x is still there. Help!
Edit:the red x is also on the Speaker icon

Maybe a virus or a Trojan changed your password

After installing everything, the computer ran out of power and the password would not take. I even thought about resetting again, but could not get the prompt to troubleshoot, so this helped with that too.

Hey! I got up to logging in through Safe Mode with Networking but it still says my password is wrong. I know for sure my password is correct though? Is there any other way of getting to Safe Mode?

after changing my password through microsoft on my phone and it still not working i choose to just reset my PC.
my laptop is super slow so i rarely use it anyway, its just getting rid of my wallpapers and colorful settings.
It worked getting me into Safe Mode but the same problem occurs at the second (the regular) bootup. Ideas?

I'm glad I came across this video. Today, I had the same problem only with a PIN pre-established and the system suddenly asking for a password. I followed your instructions and it allowed me to, once again, use my PIN to enter. Even after all these years, MS still hasn't resolved this Windows 10 issue. Thank you.

Before entering the safe mode, must you have to know your password before proceeding? What if I don't know the password, and entered something else?

Hi my problem is that only when I have assigned a new user for the first time they are not able to type the password but as an old user when I use my login name it allows me to enter the password. there is nothing wrong with any keyboard or hardware problems
im having trouble with the shift and restart. After i click the shift and restart, a “restart anyway” pops up, and i tried to shift and click the “restart anyway” button but it’s just bringing me back to the login page. Any solutions for that? Thank you

I doubt you will see this now but me son got his first computer today. It’s a hand-me-down from his grandparents who retired and didn’t need it. For the life of us we couldn’t figure out how to reset it but you finally put us on the right track. Than you so much keep it up ❤

I've tried 1:10-3:34, but when I type my correct password, it still won't work. And I can't understand why or how to fix that.
When the computer restarts it’s still not giving me the option to put in a password but instead I get the same message “the specified domain either does not exist or could not be contacted” is there anything else I can do?

I did the restart and everything but it will go to the welcome image and stay there for like 5 min then it goes to a black screen and it will pop the bottom up (where the search engine and windows button is) for like half a second and it just stays on the black screen.
