- In this video we are talking about Mercury in the 1st house. Reference book is Sage Bhrigu's Bhrigu Sutram, translation by Dr. G S Kapoor. There are 3 segments. The 1st segment is just the introduction. The video starts off with a prayer song my Mrs. Harini Prahlad. Segment 2 is 12 different Lagna and 12 different sign placement of Mercury though in each Mercury is in the 1st house. 3rd section is where Mrs Harini goes in for a word by word translation from Sanskrit words to the explanation. I join in to give the Astrology background.
Good topic. Very relatable. I have mercury exalted in 1st house, currently running mercury mahadasha. Learned astrology and every thing in my life through practical analysis. Mercury in lagna gives highest level of self learning through analysis. One will be very learned beyond books with true foundation. Mercury in lagna is a blessing irrespective of lagna. Will ward off all evils by putting thought before every action. One thing I want to add, If mercury is combusted, the degree of combustion determines ones extent of analytical skills. Combustion for mercury is very important and it's often overlooked.
@Prabha Parthan I cannot comment much as I don't know full details. Based on what you said, your Venus is saved by being retro. Retro will cancel out karako bhava naasti of venus in 7th house. Your jupiter got neecha banga too. Induviduals who achieve full maturity and objectiveness in their thought process, their navamsa will override lagna chart. That is the gateway for your success.
I too have mercury (lagna lord) in own sign & exalted with Sun & Ketu
What orb do you take for mercury combustion? It’s different everywhere. Sun, Jupiter, mercury in Dhanu lagna. Jup - 0° Sun - 09° Mercury - 21° Lagna - 22°
It is also important to consider that Jupiter consider mercury as enemy which owns the rashi Sagittarius - even though Jupiter is natural benefic it cannot deliver the best result of mercury from here or it can vary when mercury comes here, that is my comment with respect to your informative video as usual.

Namaste guruji. Here one points that mercury having dikbala in 1St house and another point is mercury is malefic for Scorpio lagna. As a malefic in enemy place , will that maleficiency will come down and become neutral. Pl clarify
My mercury is in the first house in scorpio and Mars on exactly the rising point in 11 house Virgo. So exchange of signs. Jupiter is aspecting from 9th house one degree away from rising pont. Same in challie chart. How would you evaluate this outcome in a nutshell please?

I have mercury in gemini which is my lagna with no planetary aspects but I am suffering from retinal detachment causing floatings in my left eye as soon as my saturn maha dasha started last year,2020 by trivial accident. At that time venus which is the significator of left eye was transiting in taurus for almost 2 months.On top of that saturn is in revati nakshatra aspecting krittika moon which is placed in 12th house again signifies left eye. Further more my appendix was removed when my mangal mahadasha was running. Everything seems to be happening in accordance with planetary movement. I am amazed with accurate analysis by Brigu Sutram.

Shloka 15 says only " papaha" . May be some text is missing over a period of time or due to destruction . It may not be connected with shloka 13 or 14 . I may be wrong . Regards .

It is true that I have mercury in my 1st house rishabha. I have small retinal sclerosis in right eye ,found few days back but I don't have any symptom ever and don't know when I got. On casual retinal screening my friend dr found.
because it is not in the centre of the retina (central vision area), you did not notice it.
