when did the narrator change on this channel lmao

lol😂
@@madethecut do you watch baseball much? Ichiro was taking it easy on these girls, he obviously let them strike him out. He's a really nice guy and elevating them. Even taking it easy, they still destroyed the girls. But still great that he is getting more people to watch.
@@sethaldrich6902 @madethecut didn't create the video @bigleagueanalysis did. Also, why are you commenting this here? The OP was asking about the narrator change.
That's crazy at 51 years old he threw 141 pitches at over 85mph AND he also batted. Props to Ichiro.
IMO, his fanatical obsession about baseball is why he was so good. Married with no kids. The guy has no hobbies. Just baseball.
Throwing fastballs isn't really all that taxing on the arm, especially for someone like Ichiro, who was always in great shape physically.
@@rodafowa1279 What? Fastballs are the reason why pitchers have a pitch count, they are bad for the arm.
@jeffreyhutchins6527 Nah, it's the off speed stuff that tears apart shoulders.
I didn't even realize he knew how to pitch.
It's cool that he's kept in such great shape. A model for aging well.
Japan as a whole. I think they have the longest life expectancy
It's cause he's Japanese, those dudes live a long time
@@joeyB311live long time 😂
@@samxyx Japanese do have the longest life expectancy in the world. And that's partly because of their great diet and partly because their towns and cities are designed so that residents can walk or bike to get nearly all their day-to-day necessities.
Dude’s only 51. Sure he may not cut it in the majors anymore, but he’s not that old.
Watching Matsui and Ichiro still playing baseball (even in this setting) brings me a lot of joy
You see Ichiro’s face, he is enjoying every moment. Good to see this legend no 51 , he is such a popular and polite person. Thanks for posting this.
He looked genuinely irritated at that whiff, though. He's either a good actor, or his competitive spirit still sometimes overwhelms him.
@@pyRoy6 Once a legend, always a legend. 😍🤩
bro he's playing a bunch of girls its lose lose. If he wins he's a bully to girls if he loses he gets bullied for losing to girls. Its similar to the Jake Paul Mike Tyson situation
@@pyRoy6 hes legit irritated. hes known to have a hot temper as well when it comes to stuff like this. especially his xenophobic view of koreans. you should have seen how much he was fuming when korea planted their flag in the wbc match between korea and japan
@@mosesmoses8357 Getting mad at your opponents planting a flag is just being competitive, not xenophobic
Giving back to the game that gave him so much. You can't hate on that.
51 year old “non pitcher” Ichiro throwing mid to high 80’s from the mound, over 120 pitches, 4 hits, sliding into bags. What an athlete! So great he’s trying to grow women’s baseball over there. 👏
The most impressive thing for me was the fact these girls were hitting pitches in the mid to upper 80s! Anyone that has played past high school knows these speeds, and even going to a batting cage and dialing up 80mph is not easy at all.
Yup, exactly what I was thinking. I was thinking surely there is a way to handicap the men's pitching against the girl's hitting. But if he was throwing mid 80 mph as a 51 year old former outfielder then he was not letting up for the girls hitting. The girls were impressive and it looked like both sides had a lot of fun. The girls were having the thrill of a lifetime, even if they had lost by 20 runs they would have wanted to play more innings.
Yea, these girls would kill it in the NCAA softball scene.
I have a hard time hitting 60mph balls. 😂
@@kpak76
No, they wouldn't. I played 2 seasons of pro ball with the Cardinals organization in the 70s. We were based in Clarksville, TN and played our games at Austin Peay. We agreed to play a double header against the women's softball team. They beat us both games. I struck out twice, grounded out and got a bloop single...and I was our leadoff hitter. The ball comes at you alot different. Those pitchers throw between 75-85 mph from LL distance on flat ground. That's like 95-105 from 60 ft 6 inches. Respectfully, those HS girls wouldn't stand a chance. It's a different(and humbling lol) game.
I couldn’t hit upper 80s in high school lol. Also faced a pitcher who allegedly threw mid-90s (not sure how true) and couldn’t track the pitch well enough to even come close to making contact. Ball left his hand, I saw it for a brief moment, and next time I registered the ball it was already just a few feet from the plate, almost like it teleported. After I struck out on three pitches my first at bat coach yelled at me saying I had to do better and I just responded I’m not sure how I’m supposed to hit a ball I literally can’t see lol.
Was a wild thing and only experienced it that one game, was worse than facing the fastest pitches at the local batting cage (which was advertised as 90 MPH). We also had our lefty ace who went on to play in the minors (but didn’t throw as hard as the opposing team’s guy, prob like 10 MPH slower) and the game was 0-0 until relievers came in a couple innings into extras.
Ichiro! He was my favorite player growing up, and I was blessed to watch his whole career! He's an absolute legend, and this is the cherry on top :)
1:36 the pure joy on Aoi Tani's face after striking out Ichiro is just radiant. A life highlight for her, I'm sure.
this makes Anime seem realistic. Group of baseballs girls vs legends.
Somehow, the story lines in anime don't seem so far out there, yeah?! I must agree - these girls rocked against legends. Well done!!
@@ttman1233and then there is Baki….
Matsui always has a big smile, love that guy
Man, I was in 3rd grade when he joined the Mariners. He was my favorite player. I’m in my 30’s now and I’m glad to see him out there doing his thing still
Reminds of parents vs kids whether soccer, basketball or baseball. Great fun bringing generations together!
He really is the best lol it’s so rad seeing him pitch
@@robbiealixsantos before coming to the us, he pitched a lot in Japan
Americans might see 17 as an unnecessary pouring it on, but to the Japanese if you ever let up or take it easy on your opponent it's considered disrespectful. They expect full effort no matter the situation.
Some do, others would agree you play hard whether you're up 17 or down 17 because it shows respect to the game and your opponent.
本来、真剣な全力のプレーが否定されることなどあってはならない
When I was young and playing sports I wanted my older, much more skillful opponents to go all out on me. But yeah that’s not usually the expectation, is it
Why don’t American girls play baseball? We see softball, but I expect more from American girls who are physically bigger. I didn’t know Japanese girls played baseball since I’ve only seen them in the Olympics playing softball.
@@inquisitvem6723 they do play baseball, until they reach a certain age. they switch to softball because theres pro leagues
I miss the old days with Ichiro in Seattle. Those were fun and memorable times.
Really awesome to see these aging stars still playing baseball for fun. Given their ages, they are still in great shape, and watching Ichiro pitch, even at this level is still pretty impressive.
Ichiro rocks ! I enjoyed watching him play in Spring Training (his first game out in the USA w / the Mariners - his first bat up - he hit a double). How fun & exiting for those young women & the fans. That young lady striking out Ichiro - "Awesome !"
Those girls were *BALLING!!!!* Kudos to them all!!!
I watched the live streaming of this game. They meant business. While the men may be stronger and faster, the girls have excellent fundamentals and played smart, and their pitchers clocked around 75mph.
Those pitches at the end there by #6 were nasty af, highly talented.
Can't dunk, but have good fundamentals
the pitches she struck ichiro out on were nasty
And then you realize sexual dimorphism isn't as pronounced in East Eurasia and it was actually an even enough match.
The real surprise for me is Boston legend, Dice-K, hitting
I was one of best hitter in their generation in Japan when he was in high school.
He batted 4th (i.e. the slugger) for his high school team.
Don't you remember the RBI he got in the World Series?
I had to rewind that
Thanks for sharing. Everyone looked like they were having a fun time playing❤
Always loved Ichiro, even though he was never on teams I liked. Awesome to see him making a positive impact still years after his regular career ended.
Ichiro's awesomeness has no ceiling.
Loved that they played hard despite the huge talent gap. That shows respect to the opponent.
I love that they didn’t go easy on them. I find that so disrespectful when players go easy or let up on the losing team. They showed to play your best so give them your best.
Jiji Ichiro throwing a 141P complete game is nuts!
Jiji - love it!! 🤣🤣
this is the most wholesome thing ive seen on the web in a while
Holy crap! At 51 he can sprint and slide into bases. Younger people won’t understand how big of a deal that is. 😂
He is such a ball player, he can’t get enough and is still providing great entertainment
Ichiro! Godzilla! Dice-K! I love it.
I also noticed Kazuhiro Sasaki there too.
@@robertsmith2088 No way! Sasaki was there too?! He was my favorite as an kid watching the 2001 Mariners.
Hands down, the best news story I heard in a while.
I grew up watching Ichiro as a kid, It’s nice to see him again.
Love that they didn't hold back too much
now this is a cross over that i wasn't expecting
ichiro is goated
When he was playing for the Mariners, I tried to watch every game because of Ichiro.
It seems that he is still bringing out the best in Japan and for the Women's league.
ichiro is my goat. this cements that.
I guess Ichiro forgot that years ago he said that when he got a little too old to play the outfield, he would learn how to throw a Knuckleball and extend his baseball career by another 10 years, or something along those lines. Lol, these guys still love the game.
The pure joy from everyone's faces is incredible. They actually look like they are having fun. Sports will always be better when its genuine.
the look of joy on that pitcher's face when she struck out Ichiro was priceless. Whether he was taking it easy or not (which I doubt he was), that's a core memory for her and her teammates for sure. Kampai to both teams!!
i feel like he was most likely playing up the strike...but i respect him for it. the point was to promote baseball to girls...and the smile on the pitcher's face was exactly his goal. ichiro is the goat!
She totally will. I remember playing against an ex-NBA basketball player as a kid. I went up and got an offensive rebound, pump faked, then put it back in. _Maybe_ he didn't try too hard to defend, but I prefer to think otherwise. I think she got the same feeling I did, and will remember even 50 years later.
Could you imagine her being on a date like, "So, tell me one interesting fact about yourself" - "I struck out Suzuki Ichiro."
If he was taking it easy, his facial expression while walking away from the plate went a long way towards hiding that.
Respect for Ichiro!🌟
Humility is a virtue…not many people have it.🙏🏼
👏Excellent video, thanks!
They are retired professional athletes but they can still play at such a high level. Truly amazing.
This is so wholesome.
I really hope he gets in with 100% of the ballot votes.
Truly one of the great ambassadors of the sport and a legend to the game and his community
Damn striking out Ichiro as a teenager is WILD 😂😂
Homie was NOT pleased he struck out 😂
What an ambassador for the game
Dang, a retired Hideki Matsui hitting a 3 run bomb off of teenage girls lol; also never thought I'd see Ichiro pitching
This man is a legend.
#51 is now 51 and still the hit king.
Hehe that's what I thought too!
This reminds me of when youth football teams play college mascots and the kids usually get destroyed.
They get destroyed SPIRITUALLY. Nothing worse than getting trucked and seeing some goofy-ass mascot head staring down at you, saying terrible things about what he's going to do to your mom once he can figure out how to get that costume off.
I love how he took a ridiculously full swing on that last pitch for out. That’ll be a special moment for that young pitcher - go head to head with ichiro and actually strike him out when he’s obviously trying.
Not just Ichiro, Matsuzaka from Red Sox played, Matsui (as seen here), and all other oldies. They were serious.
I miss Matsui. What a class act
This is awesome!!
these exhibition matches are hilarious, imagine like randy johnson or ken griffey going up against the best hs softball team in the U.S.
Ichiro and Ken Griffey Jr. we’re good friends and teammates so it’ll be awesome to see him play in this exhibition
also griffey is pitching and randy johnson is hitting
Dude, this was NOT softball. Ichiro was chucking it at almost 90mph overhand LMAO
@@TheOtherKine I think he was just saying that if this was done in the USA (since Randy Johnson and Ken Griffey Jr. are retired American pros), they would be going against women softball players.
@@BluBlazer High school baseball GIRLS, not softball. Overhand throwing
What's amazing is this was BASEBALL, overhand full speed at almost 90mph, not softball underhand, being chucked at the girls LMAO
hitting a fast pitch softball is HAF but wish baseball was the scholarship womens sport instead of softball. Its just a better watch.
Women throw knucklers really well. With men its something you do when your arm is shot and usually don't start using the pitch until their mid-late 20s. Women can perfect the pitch throughout HS/college. You'd see some filthy pitchers.
When a entire country has respect and integrity for each other.
Absolute legend. Will is so strong he seemed like a machine.
That is such a magnificent story!!!
This is the kind of stuff the world needs, the inverse of Jake Paul vs Tyson.
This is a good measure of progression in the female youth side of the sport
That was a fun and awesome game.
Ichiro loves pitching, it's always good to see him do this
I love that Japanese culture enforces the expectation that successful individuals should mentor the next generation.
What a great guy!
This should have been the "A League of Their Own" show.
Love he looks absolutely pissed he struck out....
Soon to be hall of famer Ichiro is still fit and throwing mid to upper 80s for 140+ pitch complete game? Dude is a legend.
that's purely awesome ❤❤❤
Loved Ichiro and Matsui. Good on them.
The desire to entertain makes the best use of good sportsmanship and less than perfect actions. More people go home feeling good without any regret about the outcome which professional sports cannot achieve.
Time flies, I remember when Matsui was in high school.
I like how Daisuke Matsuzaka is on the team, yet apparently Ichiro is the all-time pitcher. 😂
Gotta give these little children a chance.
What a baller.
Ichiro's time with the Seattle Mariners seems to have helped his post-MLB career.
I know this is about Ichiro, but me being a Yankee fan I'm like, "Matsui!"
So nobody gonna talk about the girls pitches? She was amazing!
That girl who struck out Ichiro is going to remember that for the rest for her life.
This is amazing. I would love to see
Japan doing baseball justice. Love it
Wow, these Japanese girls can really play! Congrats to both sides.
That's fantastic.
Legend!
HIDEKI MATSUI WAS A BEAST
Ichiro has always had my respect.
I Hiroki is Legend Personified!
The greatest hitter of all time. 10 years in a row with 200 hits.
This is some wholesome shit
Beautiful people. Awesome.
Ichiro is so awesome! 😅
Ichiro is a G.O.A.T
One of the best to ever do it.
Love Ichiro!
I got to see Ichiro face Mariano Rivera in person. Was great.
What happened?
@ if I recall, Ichiro got an infield base hit.
@@IanBartleson Sounds like a plausible outcome of the meeting of two scrappers.
True hero's here.
lol Ichiro’s expression at the start
Ichiro looks like he still has plenty of gas left in the tank. He could easily be a DH for a MLB team. I appreciate him helping the girls learn the game and improve their skills.
