    Nice review Matteo! I wonder if other companies will copy this filter design, or if similar replacement filters will fit other brands of Moka Pots. Maybe you could do a follow up video to see if this will work in your other Mokas, and if it improves their brew quality??? THANK YOU, Matteo!!

      Thanks! Well E&B Lab already making the Competition filter, now Lavazza with the Pro filter. You can still fit both filters in both mokas, of course they need to be the same size. I'm planning to do a video comparison in between the E&B Lab Competition filter and The Lavazza Pro Filter. Compared to the classic moka Pot filters they are both superior

      Add in the classic filter coupled with an Aeropress filter while you are at it. That’s what I’m currently doing with my Bialetti Moka Express. I’d like to know if that combination is as good as the E&B, or if the E&B is better.

    • @matteofromtheswamps
      @matteofromtheswamps  2 місяці тому

      @@coreycannon4511 1 aeropress filter is enough to avoid fine particles in the cup. it works well if you want a clean cup of coffee even with E&B lab. What you will miss with aeropress filter is a bit of mouthfeel because the paper absorb some coffee oils and this will reduce body. With E&B lab already you will have less fine particles so it will make a cleaner cup. I use Aeropress filters only with some specific coffees where I need an extra filtering system to make flavours shine even more. Otherwise I use just the E&B lab filter or the Lavazza Pro filter

  • @wenderis

    have you also tried adding paper filter as usual? or do you think its a useless experimentation because the result will pretty much be the same like other mokapot with paper filter?

    • @matteofromtheswamps
      @matteofromtheswamps  2 місяці тому +3

      I actually did it in the past and the result is very good, becuase as I said in the video the filter create less resistance than the classic one so the paper add that resistance that is good to extend the contact time, giving a richer cup. And also cleaner!

    I own this pot since 2 weeks, the extraction is very different from any moka pots I have and I still have to get used to it. I can say the result is more similar to Kamira than a moka pot. I get confused by the fact that this pot is induction compatible but they sell it with an induction plate in the kit, what is it for?

    • @matteofromtheswamps
      @matteofromtheswamps  2 місяці тому

      I was thinking the same about the induction plate. Then I noticed once while making coffee on induction hob that sometimes, because the moka is light, the induction hob didn't turn on. That probably depends on the brand of induction you have.

    Ciao Matteo, ho la Pro da circa due anni (cioè, da quando è comparsa). Considera che io uso solo le Carmencita per il mio caffè a casa, ma quelle degli anni '80, cioè SOLO in acciaio. La mia conclusione è che anche questa Pro mi conferma che il mio caffè in moka preferito è sempre in acciaio. Stavo quasi pensando di togliere il suo innovativo filtro e metterlo in una Carmencita da tre in acciaio. Ma mi va bene anche con il filtro normale e ancora non "hackero" :)
    Fammi sapere se sei d'accordo con me. Un saluto

      Io sono un fan dell'alluminio :) Per i caffé che usi il Pro filtro fa la differenza. Di solito bevo caffé tostati chiari con note fruttate. Alla fine io suggerisco di usare quello che piú ti piace. I gusti sono personali e non si possono giudicare

    • @matteofromtheswamps
      @matteofromtheswamps  Місяць тому

      No, it's actually better than the classic shiny aluminium/stainless steel. The matte coating doesn't give clear fingerprint on the moka

      The Carmencita pro is actually aluminium with stainless steel base. The technology here is all in the Pro filter, that filter coffee way better than a classic Bialetti filter you find in the Venus
