So skid control got to be second nature for me, and has literally saved my life several times.

Car fishtails, driver gets scared and lifts, the tires grab, and you're off for a ride. Once he's in the dirt, there's no saving it. There must be a deviation in the asphalt, a slick spot; a few cars fishtailed at the same spot, but didn't let off and drove through it.
Watched five minutes of so-so cars leaving a field, with the doofy neighbor yelling "C'mon!" at nearly every passing driver, to get to the main event of some old moe, driving into someone's house! Old moe!
Smoke the tires in a manual trans in 1st or 2nd gear and you break traction, then when you abruptly chop the throttle the engine breaking instantly causes the rear tires to hook up and skid. You have a split second to react. You see it happen to cars like AC Cobra's.
As a guy that owns a C3 (and a C1, and had a C2), the C2/3 independent rear will do that hop, and get sideways if you're not careful. If you don't know how to control it, especially if you change throttle significantly, on or off, it'll do this. Hook, and hook hard on whatever direction it's pointed that second. Ask how I know (no porches or anything else was harmed in my learning curve days.) The solid rear axle on my '63 Impala is a lot more predictable, and a better burnout car because of it.
Easy to do in a stock tire C2. Not a lot of tire fits under there, but the C2 chassis was developed to make racing more viable.. People forget how cars used to be. I've owned classics with V8s since '89. Right now I have a small block C2 with a vacuum secondary that isn't opening. The car still gets squirelly going into second just on the primaries, if I want it to.

I did a burnout in a Dodge Hellcat, with TC off. I used both lanes but gingerly moved the steering wheel, no issues. 707 HP red key.
