- This is a video about nitrous oxide and its use in cars. Nitrous oxide is often shown in movies with its spectacular injection, but in fact this thing has a fairly wide use in the automotive industry, because it gives a very large, but temporary power boost to cars. This will be useful, for example, in races or drag races. Nitrous oxide is a chemical compound that decomposes at a temperature of approximately 300 degrees Celsius and then releases a large amount of oxygen, which increases the power of the car engine. In total, there are two options for temporarily increasing engine power. This is better fuel, or more oxygen in the engine, because oxygen is needed in order for the engine to burn fuel and, accordingly, start the movement process. Nitrous oxide does this amazingly well. It is a non-toxic and non-explosive gas, it is easy to store and transport, and it is easy to connect it to the engine with the help of special systems. That is why this compound was chosen for this task. In the video, I explained everything in detail, and also conducted an experiment in the BeamNG.drive simulator on all types of engines (from three-cylinder to ten-cylinder) and after comparing the results, that is, how big is the difference between cars with nitrous oxide and without, I came to the conclusion , that nitrous oxide will have the greatest effect on engines with a larger volume and with a larger number of cylinders. And this is logical, because there will be more space for additional oxygen. And that's all - such an interesting video experiment.

@@vertviger bassically the vanilla Scintilla has launch control which helps in acceleration in 3 ESC modes and those are : Comfort Sport And Corsa. But there are also 2 other modes which do not have it and they are: Drift (obviously for burnouts) and also ESC Off and I think it would be intresting if u tested it both on the dragstrip and then highway so u could test if launch control will make it accelerate faster on the road and then the dragstrip cause it may have a diffrent outcome on a surface with more grip. (dunno if that's what u meant by "more details".)

In all honesty, this video, just as usual is well researched and packed with info, it cleared up some of my questions about N2O, it is clear your quality is improving from video to video

More cylinders with larger capacity will perform a lot better with the Nitrous Oxide.

@@vertviger Not much I would change about the video, the main thing would be the lack of commentary during the tests, which is understandable, though longer periods without any talking tend to be skipped, and you could've touched on the topic of overtorque mentioned at the end of the Pigeon's test (or maybe future video idea 😉). Also ty for the shoutout at the end, and will check out your other channel too later

@@vertviger I've recently played 5 hours straight with a souped out bus with nitro and it was really fun, so in my opinion it is an acceptable application for it as it made it much faster

@@vertviger Yeah, but to be fair it was more interesting because I was in Beammp and had the whole server be in the bus (like with the little snowmen characters) and doing offroad and stuff. Surprisingly really fun

How accurate is the simulation???
Well , BeamNG is pretty accurate simulator, because it has Air and Liquid simulation, so it means that it has good aerodynamics simulation. In terms of mechanics it's very close to reality too , I maked different tests in it , for example: Different types of differentials in cars and it all work as I would do it in a real car.
So , yeah , I think it could be counted as a very realistic simulator 🙂
