Pedals of urban bikes get scratched and damaged at a rate that some people replace them yearly. And for those who prefer straps despite their look often don't have a really wide choice of pedals having two slots to route through. But yeah, those cranks and ring overshadow pedals by a margin of aerospace scale.
I’m am up north for school and wanted to know some bike shops you recommend to purchase a fixie complete or build *aluminum frame* within 800 dollars or less anywhere from Modesto area to SF / Sac etc. area, thanks
As a British person who’s sarcasm is set in national pride, I would say the sarcasm needs refinement to reach peak British sarcasm level. But you get a B+ for effort However, a word of warning. Too much sarcasm and those Americans won’t get the joke 😉😉😏😏 😉😉😂😂 ** all above is sarcasm 😁😁
Not my type of frame, paintwork, cranks, chainring, handlebars, pedals and straps - but alas, someone riding his nice bicycle without being a jerk is a person I'd give a nod on street or have a chat at bike shop or bar.
@Bebo true, they do have good steel but i think the difference between that and 4130 most riders will not reap the benefits of it it’s a little bit lighter is all maybe marginally stronger. and both of them you are paying for the brand. quality is there on most modern steel/ aluminum frames and like i said people that buy these bikes will probably not reap the benefits of the marginal gain dues to skill level. also wabi makes complete bike which changes the comparison between the two. MASH is annoying because you gotta enter a damn raffle to get an opportunity to buy one new.
Hey Zach, I really think you should do a PSA video on bike fit. I dn't know it was so important to get professionally fit. I did my own bike fit and after 5 miles on bullhorns I got cyclist palsy. I didn't have this problem when I was younger, partially because I was younger and rode bikes with more relaxed geometry compared to track bikes like the kilo TT
I'd love that too ! I had that happen to me a couple of times, bought padded cycling shorts before realizing it was actually my saddle that was wrong for me and too far back ! Much better now but I'm sure a lot of people would love to not cycle through this kind of numbing learning curve lmao
Did you just get your sense of humor back? 👌👍✌️👏🤘 I sense a tab bit of envy😜 Nice build!
He has enough money to buy plenty trash bikes. Why waste money though?
This roast of my Cheeto Finger Orange Air Conditioner #2 was fire!!
I will say whoever designed their website, that guy is an artist, for a business that small the shipping has always been fantastic.
This bike is so Bay Area it’s crazy
I too practice the ancient art of bashing that which I cannot afford.
the classic aggressive zach snark the world needs so desperately in this moment
On a mission to Mars they should absolutely bring fat bikes with them.
Spends 5 hours researching stiffest crank, buys £$15 plastic pedals

Actually, I spent 1 hour researching the stiffest crank and 5 hours researching the hypest plastic pedals
@SlaveLaboringKid how often do you really pedal strike btw if it has track geometry the bottom bracket is stupid high in the air
Odyssey twisted PC pedals are solid pedals

You didn't touch on how the bike looks like its never touched the ground until the video lol
Fuck me. Our local brank Raketa hit the world with their custom fix parts!
A “Bike Check… Roast Series” would be dope lol.

ovalized chainring on a fixed gear? that must mess up the chain tension
sheldon brown rode fixed gears with oval chainrings. I think he wrote about that
noQ rings are round (no Q as opposed to their oval Q rings
Their Steel Mash is pretty clean but overpriced and scalped way too much by resellers
I believe the term monocoque construction is (mis)used in the cycling industry in opposition to tubular construction
nah this bike is fire you trippin
I wouldn't put BMX parts on it but yeah
Not my type of frame, paintwork, cranks, chainring, handlebars, pedals and straps - but alas, someone riding his nice bicycle without being a jerk is a person I'd give a nod on street or have a chat at bike shop or bar.
The Austrailian Shepeard distracted me from Zach's usual bike roasts in this one. Lol
Border Collie
Are/were you in Mexico City?
Zach, you're the best dude
Finally, bike check is back baby 🔥🔥🔥
Surpasses that Wabi that you mention once or twice sometimes...🤭
Wabi is just as overpriced as MASH and wabi owners are definitely more hipster

Cheeto orange. Hahah
steel bike is "steel" the best frame frame component for me......
not a fan of the cheetos orange, but this is tasty bike :)
Where do I get my Fuji Track single speed roasted? #askingforafriend
Coast-Guard Orange
...___...
You didnt comment on the mandatory MASHSF brand clothing that is necessary to ride such a 'legit' bike and get MAX fixie points.
As a Brit, unfortunately there isn't enough sarcasm. Damn colonials.
@Bebo but I want fixie British humour
Fixie Points. That's all I'm going to say.
Mmmm Tarck biks I like it
ZACH WTF

Zach I asked this a few months ago but I'm really curious how you solved any skin issues after moving back home from Taiwan. Cheers!🍺

grand total price of this fixed gear bicycle?
I’m thinking $3500 easy. Everything is pretty much the top of line most expensive components you can get.
i thought hipsters are on wheelie bikes now
